    Hotel ok

Nice enough hotel but the door handle was faulty. And no real areas to walk a dog considering it was supposed to be dog friendly.

Been here several times in the past, this time was just bad

I've stayed here 3-4 times before, sometimes with my dog and sometimes without. This time was without. All previous stays were completely lovely. This time, the elevators and floor reeked of pot all weekend. The toilet in the room wouldn't flush completely (not clogged, just would leave behind toilet paper). Breakfast did not include cereal or milk like it had in the past. One kind of yogurt. Coffee was empty. Bagels had visible mold on them. I stayed two nights, and housekeeping did not come by during, which meant the second day's shower was with a wet towel off the floor. Maybe more concerning was my key card stopped working when I returned the second night. I went to the front desk, and was just asked for my room number, and I received a new card that did work. No verification of being allowed in that room. Could I have gotten in any room?

    Good for the price :)

Hotel is a little rundown but good for what I needed. If you walk to the hotel next door there is a dog area. Free breakfast.

They helped me find my missing cat!

Long story, but I left the cat in the room for 15 minutes to go get food. I came back and he was nowhere to be found! I was freaked and crying! The front desk man, Nick went above and beyond the call of duty and got his staff looking all around the hotel! He then helped me search the room again! We finally found the cat under the mattress inside the mattress frame! Praise for Nick and staff!

Same Room, Same Toilet... and no Kleenex!

Night desk was great but whomever cleaned the room did a horrible job. My room had critters, and the toilet didn't work. I got the same room from the last review, and still didn't do anything! Hopefully, District or Region will do something!

    Dirty Hotel

The hotel was dirty. All carpet needs replaced. No breakfast served because they could not source. Exit door would let you out but not back in with key card. One of my worst stays.

    Horrible

There was no grass to take your dog on. The inside was rundown and crappy. There were lightbulbs out in our room, rips in the carpet, an empty picture frame which had the picture cut out of it. The hallways and elevator were dirty. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Plus it was very loud, next door and above us. I grabbed breakfast to go, took one bite of a donut and spit it out it was so bad.

    It’s ok

Yes this place is dog friendly but there is barely any space to walk your dog. This place feels old and dirty but the rooms are just ok.

Disappointed with this property. The carpet was stained and dirty and the shower was very poor. There was no grassy area to walk the dog. I would not stay here again.

    Just Okay

The hotel really needs some maintenance done. The carpets are filthy and stained, some of the exterior doors couldn’t be used to gain access because the card key reader was broken, no real area to walk the dogs and mattress was literally coming part at the seams. Convenient to the airport but not in a great area. I was not comfortable taking the dogs out after dark by myself.

    Very nice

Beautiful grounds, building, room, a very special stay for the price. One complaint: breakfast. Covid restrictions allowed for being handed pre-wrapped breakfast sandwich, very limited selection. I expected more from this hotel.

    Location was ok

This was the first time I have ever stayed at a La Quinta that was so old and very dirty and disgusting. It took 3 room changes to find a room with a working refrigerator and the floor both when you walk in and in the rooms was very disgusting. No dog walk area. Very little grass. Would never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone!!! Very dissatisfied and unhappy

    Great bed but...

The hotel staff was nice and the bed very comfortable but the room was some what run down. The worst thing is there is no place on the property to walk your pet. There is a small grass area on the sidewalk outside the property. There is a bigger area behind the adjacent hotel but my dog is elderly and arthritic and could not go that far.

    Just ok

Stayed overnight went to our first room was not fully cleaned, they gave us a new room that was just ok. There is not a good place to relieve your dog had to walk across the street. Shop around.

Location is the only good thing about it

We knew by the price we weren’t going to the ritz Carlton but expected more than what we got. The place is very old with signs of wear and tear everywhere. The AC in the room was terrible. The pet rooms were on the 5th floor which is probably why there was always pet urine in the elevator. The hallways always smelled like smoke even though the signs say it’s a non-smoking hotel. You practically got a second hand high from the smell of weed in the hallways. At the front desk we overheard couple complaining that someone entered their locked room at 530 said hello and walked back out. The bathrooms had a lot of problems like cracks in the toilet seat and a soap scum ring around the tub. The king size bed was so old you roll right into the center of the bed. The sheets were also like sandpaper and I’m not a fancy sheet person. Will never stay here again. It was in a good location tho.

    Not very good

We usually like to stay at La Quinta properties, but this property was a disappointment. The facility was not very clean and there was no pet walking area.

    Worst experience

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The sanitation score was low. The receptionist left the desk in the middle of checking us in. p
People were doing drugs in the lobby. Absolutely disgusting. We did not even stay the night due to how horrible it was. Afraid for my life.

    Comfortable

Huge room.. comfy bed. Clean. My only two problems were that I wish it didn’t have carpet... (Dog smells linger when you have carpet) and the decor was a little dated. For the price the location was great and it was clean so we were very happy

    Great value

Hotel is in a good location for anyone traveling North or South on the I-77 in Charlotte, NC. Room was clean and well-appointed. Bathroom was large. We were very pleased with our stay and our pup was, too.

    Dirty but cheap

You get what you pay for here. The hotel smells of stale cigarettes, and the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The bathroom floor was dirty, and there was lingering hair from other guests. The shower clearly hadn’t been cleaned as the bottom was really slick like baby oil had been spilled. The desk/table also clearly hadn’t been clean as there was an obvious spill pattern on the table where no one had even bothered to wipe the surfaces down. Yes, it was cheap and dog friendly, but in a pandemic, you’d think they’d at least wipe surfaces down.

    Great staff!

My pup’s first hotel stay couldn’t have gone more smoothly! We got a warm late-night welcome from Charles, who put me at ease immediately with his kindness and exceptional service. The building is older, but was clearly well-cleaned and cared for. We’ll certainly stay again!

    Charlotte

Little to no grass for dog to do his business. Crowded and noisy intersection which scared the pooch. Also some questionable people hanging around outside which concerned my wife so she asked me to accompany her out to find suitable grasslands. No room on the first or second floor, only 5 and 6 so much longer to get out to do the morning business. Very hospitable front desk personnel and willing to help with what they could. No breakfast nor grab and go for the morning.

    Would Stay Again

OK. After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant to stay here. BUT...for $65.00 a night-for a king suite, well, we knew we would not be staying at the Taj Mahal. The room was clean, the towels were fluffy, the TV has Dish network, you get the picture. The staff at this hotel are amazing. They gave fantastic suggestions for food, several “green belts” (in Florida we call those parks) and took care of any and all issues quickly and efficiently. There is a large grassy area behind the hotel and next to the Sleep Inn parking lot for dog walking. We were even able to take Bella off leash for a few minutes as there was no one around.

    Not what I expected

I always read reviews and the ones for this hotel were not accurate. The 3rd floor hallway smelled like cat pee. Carpet in rooms could have been alot cleaner as could the bathroom. No dedicated spot with grass for dogs to do their business. I had to walk down the street to get my dog to go. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place needs some work. Last pet friendly hotel we stayed in was much better. Don't think we will be staying here again. I will pay a pet fee for a better hotel.

Good for quick travel - but not for lengthy stay.

Stayed with my two dogs while driving from New England to Florida. Lots of dogs there, but not easy to walk them and no dedicated area for them. Staff was excellent though!!!!!

    Refused Refund

I had to cancel my trip because of the travel ban imposed by the pandemic for covid 19. It would be understandable if I just changed my plans or I waited until the last minute but we were still a month out from the reservation and in the middle of a pandemic.

Great staff. Think about airport hotel

Loved the hotel - great staff - and set up (dog peeps on their own ground floor wing). My only issue was more my human error... As a near-airport hotel, there were comings and goings late at night and very early morning. My pup is still In guard mode so even though he was quiet and didn’t bark he moved around a lot. It was also our first hotel stay. So I would rethink a hotel that serves an airport. But I would do La uinta again - loved the experience of the staff and booking through BringFido.

    Very small “rest area”

Not perfect for puppies, too much carpeting, but older trained dogs would be ok. The elevator ride to go down to the outside wasn’t ideal either. Very limited breakfast choices, no eggs “except boiled” or breakfast meats, but they had waffles.

As always, La Quinta is truly dog-friendly. Always pleasant, clean, and doesn’t blink at a 75-lb dog walking in. We’ll be back!

Great location but needs a deep cleaning

Location is great right of the hwy. Not many areas for dogs to pee and poop. The room needs a really good deep cleaning. The carpet is disgusting and the walls have stains on them. The pillows in our room had makeup stains on them. We found some items under the bed which means I don't think they vaccummed the rooms that often. We to get service at the front desk and was ignored by staff members. All over the hotel there are signs that say nonsmoking. However the whole hotel smells like smoke. The breakfast included is a plus. I would say staying at the Red Roof Inn is better for the price.

Good for a 1 Night Stay

    Pros:
    No pet fee
Allows 2+ dogs with no weight restriction
    Spacious room

    Cons:
Not a lot of space to walk your dog
Not super clean (the sofa in our room was stained and worn down. There were also stains on the carpet and some walls).
    Needs updated.

All in all it suited our purposes for a quick overnight stay.

The hotel was accommodating and assigned us a room where we could park right where our room was. It was on the first floor, which given our dogs are both 12 years old, was appreciated. The room was spacious.

Great room not much walk space

The hotel was great. But the surrounds are dirty, busy, and just not a great place to walk the dog. Great for small dogs, not quite as good for large dogs... but I'd stay there again

    Needs deep cleaning

Our room had dog/cat food behind the nightstand, along with other trash. The carpet needed vacuuming more thoroughly and probably steam cleaned. The staff was friendly and we slept ok for the 1 night. Our 2 big dogs were welcome.

    Not bad

The room was nice for the price. As I’ve seen others say there’s not a lot of room to walk your pup, but it was fine for a few days. Our only issue was the A/C in the room wasn’t great & it never really cooled off to where we would’ve liked it.

    Very Nice

The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The walking area for the dogs was pretty much nonexistent but my dog is not that picky. Breakfast area was very spacious but selection limited. All in all a good experience.

Nice Place, But No Place For Pups To Poop

I want to start and say this is a really nice and clean hotel. The staff seems friendly and helpful. There was simple cold breakfast, but shower was hot and the bed comfortable. But for my 2 girls, there was no place for them to poop. The only place was a muddy 6x7 area. But, there was no pet fee, so that was nice and because of my husbands military status we also got about 10% off per night.

    Great service!

Room was spacious, we didn't had any issues making a reservation for the same night as we were traveling on military orders. Dogs were comfortable for their first time in a hotel. Only downside is that the actual area for potty is a small patch of dirt towards the very dark corner of the parking lot. Otherwise, it was a good place to spend the night with our family.
