Nothing fancy but worth it anyway

I travel between Florida and Pennsylvania often to see family. Most folks would take 95 all the way up and deal with traffic around the major cities. I can't stand driving through DC and was looking for an alternative route. The Charlotte area has plenty of hotels that take pets, but honestly after reading the reviews? No thank you.

I found this hotel through Google and I'm glad I did. It's a few miles off of I-77 but totally worth the additional time away from my main route.

The staff is always friendly and helpful...even if you don't get in until 1am. The rooms are always clean. The weather stripping on the door leaves something to be desired, however, most rooms that I've stayed in thus far have been completely refurbished. There are plenty of areas to walk your dog that are well lit, including a big field in front of the building as well as a little one in the back.

This place isn't fancy and the internet on this last trip wasn't 100% on my phone but worked fine on the laptop. The price is a little much, but seems OK for the area. I've stayed at least a dozen times over the last four or five years and have always had a positive experience.

Also for the weary traveler? There is a Mayberry Takeout Taxi that goes to local restaurants and delivers to you. Not hotel related, but if you have a dog that you don't want to leave in the room by themselves and you're sick of fast food and pizza this is a blessing.

        3rd world internet

I am writing this from the lobby! The internet is so amazingly spotty. I've called tech support 3 times and was told I would need to move rooms to get a signal. This wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't had to move rooms TWICE ALREADY, I'm on room 3! Rm 1 stink bug infested, Rm 2 smelled of cat pee, Rm 3 Terrible internet! I've stayed here for 3 weeks now the staff is friendly but will charge your card without signature, maid staff will wake you up hours before they intend to clean your room if you do not put sign on the door, the phone initially did not call out and is still fuzzy, and today after arriving back to hotel room maid staff had closed our drapes (which we leave open when we want the room cleaned, for our peace of mind since we don't want anyone rooting around in our stuff) and placed our computer on the bed. They also did not leave TP in the room because after running out we went and bought our own, I'm PAYING FOR TP regardless if I purchased my own! The manager just went to run wire to hopefully get a signal in my room but it's a bit late since this has been a problem from day 1, I guess I should have complained about it sooner. Good location, nice staff, cheapest place to stay with a pet, but we are moving on.

        good place

Very nice large room, facing a nice grassy area for do walking and playing. No clean up bags provided, bring your own. Older hotel, drive up to the room, exterior entry only, 2 buildings. Well maintained.. Will stay there again.
