    Not Very Dog Friendly

Upon arrival my husband is given an agreement to sign with a bevy of conditions for pet stays that were not listed anywhere else. Meaning we had no way to know before arrival. For example, no dogs in the elevator (we booked 3rd floor not knowing this) dogs must be kenneled (so now you're likely dragging a kennel upstairs like we did.) Also, as one of our dogs is very well trained and past puppyhood we didn't bring a kennel for him. He hasn't needed it in over a year. A large dog kennel is no small expense either so we just didn't kennel and hoped they would respect the do not disturb sign and left them there as seldom as possible, just an hour over the whole weekend. Due to this we had to beg friends to let our dogs come over and thankfully they acquiesced. In addition the agreement said no dogs in the lobby (so we had to hunt down a side door). Also, if there are two noise complaints of any kind the dogs are kicked out. We wouldn't let a dog bark incessantly, but this strict policy had us jumping out of skin any time they made a peep. Oh and if you may be like us and think we will just clean up after ourselves and not have the maids in to keep it drama free- WRONG. You are required to allow maids in every other day. If you are cautious like me it means you have to wait around all day every other day so they can clean. I don't leave my dogs with people new to them who aren't trained dog professionals. If any of this has been posted in advance it would have been reasonable. We could have booked with the knowledge of their long list of conditions and chose to accept and comply or not book it. These conditions surprised us since we had no way of knowing (not posted anywhere online, no instructions to call and ask front desk) and as such we arrived late and there was no time to find an alternative. This hotel is NOT dog friendly, and I do not recommend if you are traveling with dogs.

We requested late check out and admit we should have requested earlier, but that has never been an issue particularly because we are part of a loyalty program. We were told we'd be put on a list but to call tomorrow. It somewhat defeats the point of asking for late check out, but I guess it was nice of them to try to accommodate what we had always been told was a benefit of the loyalty program. They did manage to accommodate which was great.

The key cards were inconsistent on how well they worked and which doors. I found myself locked out of some doors and not others. The outlet on my side of the bed didn't work at all.

There was a nice personalized hand written note, but we were too tired from dragging a kennel up several flights of stairs to read it.

My husband noted we were offered extra snacks and given soda that wasn't from the free selection because they were out of coke in the free sections. This seemed very nice.

In general the hotel was clean, and the staff was polite, though not particularly friendly. The parking was just enough, and there was a very small area to take dogs out but at least they had one, and it was equipped with bags.

It's nice there is a restaurant in the parking lot. If I were traveling without pets this rating might have been higher, but it is what it is. Bottom line, without pets it is a decent hotel but if they are going to market as being pet friendly the many conditions need to be informed in advance, not on arrival.
