    Good location for dogs

    Great place for dog walking. Hallway areas need revamping.

    Decent, clean, short on walking areas

    I was a little disturbed when I arrived because all the outside lights, including the La Quinta sign were off and it was REALLY dark in the parking lot. Luckily the lights came on after I'd been there about an hour. I felt much better about things after that! The hotel is in busy shopping/dining area, so the potty area was very small. I walked my dog on the sidewalks around the shopping area. The hotel potty area was also in need of a cleaning - despite there being a fully stocked poop bag station, lots of people had neglected to clean up after their pet. The room was OK, older with carpet. It smelled faintly of smoke even though it was a no smoking room. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Even though the hotel was fully booked and I was on the first floor, it was not noisy. It was fine for a one night stay. I'd consider staying there again.

    Don't go

    The staff was nice but frazzled. The room air was musty and dirty smelling. It was uninviting. The rug was thin, worn and stained. Both my dogs and I coughed all night.

    Well located just off 40

    Nice beds and crisp linen. Stained carpets in room and hallway. Broken handle on frig. Bleak breakfast bar. We paid low rates plus $40 for two dogs.

    Great Location

    La Quinta Winston Salem pretty much ignored my pups. No treats were given. None of the staff even asked to meet them.

    Disgusting and Appalling

    I have never written a review before but this needed to be written. This hotel was the most disgusting pet friendly hotel i have ever stayed. The hotel smelled really bad and the carpets were soooo stained and disgusting. The hot tub was broken and there was only 1 operating ice machine, which was on the 1st floor. The beds were nice, thank God but I didn't want to take my shoes off because of the floors. I can understand the rooms not being the best because of the dogs but the whole hotel was smelly and gross.

    Hotel was fine. Staff was not mean just short and to the point. Dogs stay was fine but they did not seem to have a separate designated dog walking area so you just took your dog wherever. Also pool was apparently closed for inspection which they didn't tell you upon check in. It seemed like rooms where they kept the dogs were the older looking ones, I guess so if dogs mess them up they don't care but the cleaning job was poor. Carpet did not look like it had been washed or vacuumed ever, the lamps were covered in dust, and the bathroom cleaning job was skeptical. We rarely saw the cleaning crew and it looked like all they did was change the bedding and move on. So essentially the stay was ok but be mindful your dog might be sleeping on dirty carpet and you may have an allergy attack from dust. It is however centrally located to most things in the town and has two restaurants sharing the parking lot.

    Clean, quiet, basic accommodations

    We needed a place at short notice because of a plumbing disaster at our home. BringFido offered several good suggestions and we chose La Quinta as it was economical and close to our home. This is an older hotel and is showing signs of wear, but the room was clean and spacious and surprisingly quiet as we were next to a very busy road. The ‘breakfast’ is little more than a snack— all individually packaged foods such as muffins, fruit cocktail, and yogurt- but the coffee is hot and plentiful. The staff were all friendly and quite helpful. If you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced, convenient location in Winston-Salem that will welcome your furbaby at no extra charge this is the place.

    Great for what we needed!

    Front desk clerk, Theresa was very nice, and accommodating! Our room was in first floor which is a plus with our giant breed dogs, room smelled a little strange, but we aren’t picky people, for the price and last minute we were beyond happy!

    Smelly room

    Room smelled of smoke. People making noise and running up and down the hall slamming doors. Used needle in the parking lot right next to our car in the morning.

    Great vacation experience!!

    Great staff, nice location, very accommodating for pets .... and they upgraded us to a suite so we’d have more room ( we were staying all week)!! All-in-all a great Thanksgiving vacation.

    Clean! Comfortable! Convenient!

    Incredibly Dog-Friendly!

    Our first time traveling with my dog was a breeze thanks to La Quinta Winston-Salem! The front desk staff was helpful and super friendly. They gushed over my girl and made her feel so special, every time we walked past the desk. I loved the genius door handles which ensure the dogs can’t open the doors. The room was clean and big enough for 3 adults and a large American Bulldog. The dog waste area was kept clean as well and there were always waste bags near the waste basket (which was emptied regularly). We had a great vacation thanks to not having to worry about the dog!

    Everything you want in an overnight stay with dogs

    Easy check-in. Short distance to walk dogs from room. Motel staff was accommodating and kind. Even gave us 10 percent off coupon for restaurant right next door that was terrific. Room was perfectly sufficient. Would definitely go there again if in the area.

    Dog Friendly for Sure

    This is 100 percent a dog friendly hotel. It felt comfortable for my family, including the pups. The only thing that bothered me, and it is, of course, a dog friendly hotel, the smell was strong. It was still a very pleasant experience for me and my family.
