    Great location

Loved that it was dog friendly. The staff was awesome. Has a nice view of the mountains.

    Mediocre at best

I booked online and was informed at check-in that I had to pay an extra $25/night for my dog. That put the price at a point where I was no longer feeling it was worth it. The breakfast was barely okay. My room didn't have any odors, but the whole place is kinda dingy and dated. On the plus side, having a first floor with a door exiting directly out to the grassy area for my dog was nice. Also, we had to park farther away than your typical hotel/motel.

    Good staff, very poor hotel

As we drove up the road, I really appreciated the layout of the hotel. Each ground floor room had door to the outside, which is very nice if you have a dog. The grounds looked very well kept. The room, however, was terrible. The smell was so strong and pervasive that I left the outside door open, hoping to air it out. No success. We arrived late, and unloaded to beat the impending rain, so we did not notice details of the room. Such details as a broken chain lock for the inside door, a leaking mini-fridge that soaked the floor in front of it, and an overall dampness to the room. We tried turning on the heat, but that just made it a hot musty smell. At about 4am, we decided we needed to leave. Everything we brought into the hotel, INCLUDING MY DOG, smelled like the room. None of the staff expressed surprise that we wanted to leave.

They were cooperative and refunded our pet deposit and did not contest our request for a refund of the next two nights. We did ask for a refund of the one night we stayed, as NO ONE should have been booked in room 108. We have not heard about that request. It is a shame that such a wonderful location and layout is being left to ruin. Upon returning home, we had to wash everything, including my Alaskan Malamute, to remove the smell. I believe that it is time to remove Fox Ridge Resort from a recommended lodging on Bring Fido as it is not fit for man nor beast. My experience with BringFido on the refund and notifying them of the problem was very good. The refund was prompt. But if the hotel is this bad, it shouldn't be on a list just because dogs are allowed there. One bone because ZERO is not an option.

    Decent stay

The lobby and hallways smelled very musty. The room was very outdated. Walls are thin so you hear your neighbors very clearly. Recommend a top floor room. People working there were very friendly. A lot of areas looked very run down. Loved the location though.

    Room in Rough Condition

I love that our two dogs were allowed to stay with us. That was a big plus for us booking here. With that said, the pictures on the website did not match the reality of the room. Our hotel room had a musty smell, rug stains, and the walls looked beat up and dirty. The walls had gouges of various depth and height levels as well as, several scuff marks. There was enough pre-existing damage, that we went to the front desk with pictures immediately to ensure we did not get charged for the damages. The staff didn't seem surprised nor apologetic for the condition of the room. The grounds were very nice, lots of room to run around and walk your dogs. I would suggest checking the condition of your room before committing to the reservation/price per night.

    Good place

The hotel is very well located. A little smell of leftover cigarette smoke. Very decent lunch. I thought there would be trails on the site, but I didn't see them.

    Beautiful views, peaceful, convenient

The staff was friendly. The room was your basic hotel room. It served its purpose for sleeping. Indoor and outdoor pools. Small kid friendly mini golf course. Conveniently located near downtown North Conway. Definitely would come back.

    Fox Ridge Resort

Tucker, our furry family member, gives his stay five bones. The room was on the first floor and the grounds were outstanding to take walks. The rest of us would say it was three stars. Room was dated, not dirty, but not completely clean either. It was a handicap room which made all bathroom items especially low to the ground. Not sure if all pet rooms are handicap - but for us it was a little uncomfortable having the toilet and vanity so low. Buffet was pretty good. Location was awesome. Close to all we wanted to do. Pool was nice but hot tub was not really hot enough and jets were not strong. Between all of us - the room averages to be 4 bones! We would stay again with our furry family member.

    Fox Ridge

Location and pool was great. No special treatment for my dog, no bowls for food and water. The hotel needs some updating, the price was not worth the value.

    IS Dog Friendly!

Stayed here recently, note there is a two dog minimum. Most hotels I’ve stayed at have an area outside the pet friendly rooms where you can take your dog out- this one did but it’s a VERY steep large hill, fell once going up and once going down! Not meant for all types of people. Also tough acoustically, people in room above us- could hear every step and move they made, very clearly. My dogs are very chill but it was loud and consistent enough to make them unsettled, sounded like someone was going to come through the ceiling! Someone also called stating our dogs were barking- but we were in room and they are not barkers. Very easy to misconstrue if other pets staying as well in surrounding rooms. Rooms also on the smaller side compared to other pet friendlys as well. Over all fine hotel- free breakfast buffet is always a plus!
