Dog friendly. Clear rules. Nightly fee and a damage deposit. Carpeted room had my dog sniffing everywhere. The pet relief areas were stone or rock. No real dirt or grass on site.

Clean but on the old side and very small bathrooms. The location was on the main road, like most of these motels. This being NM there really wasn't a green area to walk the dogs.

Large road trip-type hotel, traditional 2-story facility with all outside opening rooms. Parking is right outside your room, plus plenty of additional parking and picnic tables. Older venue but well maintained. Rooms were spacious enough, clean, nice bed and tile floor. No grass whatsoever for dog bathroom business, but small patches of Astroturf along the sidewalk and gravel area intended for the dogs. Great location along the main street of Alamogordo and plenty of fast-food and sit down restaurants close by. Complimentary made-to-order breakfast was delightful, albeit limited choices, and there were additional items on the menu for sale. Overall, a great choice for a great price.

Great location after visiting White Sands NP. Outside is painted nicely and grounds are well kept. Rooms are clean, but the bed was a little uncomfortable; the main reason for the downgrade. Staff was friendly and the free breakfast was great.

The staff was great, breakfast great, room & bath very clean. Took a long time to get hot water in shower, but eventually it got there. Only complaint was that there is really nowhere for your dog to go to the bathroom unless they are OK with doing their job on a small artificial turf. They do have an area behind the motel that is gravel that worked for us. There is no place that we found in Alamogordo that had a spot for dogs to relieve themselves without having lots of goat heads present.

Others who travel with dogs may share my anxiety about the condition of dog-friendly designated hotel rooms. The Classic Desert Aire Hotel made me sigh in relief. The room was clean with hard-surface floors and no indication that it was even set aside for travelers with dogs. Plus, the staff was awesome and the breakfast was truly great. There seem to be dog-friendly rooms on both the first and second floors. No elevators, so just keep that in mind if anyone in your group has mobility concerns. There isn’t much land around for doggy bathroom business at the hotel but I think it’s a challenge for all hotels in the area. Our pup was able to figure it out and make it work. Whenever we’re in the area again we plan to stay here for sure.

And that’s just the start! Excellent friendly check in with huge dog treats!!! Very pet friendly, designated gravel dog area, comfy clean rooms, great customer service included breakfast that accommodated picky vegan requests!! Would definitely recommend and check out other Desert Aire Hotels!!!

That's about it, great location. For over $200 you would think they would include a awesome breakfast, no they don't. Nothing special about the rooms. I must say, the bed was comfortable.

Our room was fine and places to walk the dog were certainly adequate. But the WiFi didn’t work and hotel staff were not helpful. They offered to let us check out and refund our money, but we needed a place to stay.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean but small. There is a $50 deposit fee not mentioned in Fido. Relief area was a 10x10 piece of astro turf.

Second time we've stayed at this hotel in two years. Rooms are nice, clean, quiet and comfortable, with the bonus of no bad odors (which seems to be fairly common among pet friendly hotels). Staff is nice, location is convenient. They have a pre-order breakfast (which we did not partake in). There is also a decent size fridges and microwaves in the rooms. At no fault to the hotel, there isn't much grass around the hotel or really any place in Alamogordo. The bit of grass that is near the hotel is on the south side of the hotel but be warned there is little stickers from plants so if your dog is a princess like mine, be ready to pull some stickers out of their paws. In the event we pass through Alamogordo again we will surely stay at the Desert Air once again.

Had a room on the first floor, so easy to load/unload and take the puppy to use the bathroom. There was a gravel landscaped area up front for the pup to relieve himself. Price was reasonable, and accommodations were okay, if a bit bare bones.

At 1st glance this looks lIke an outdated motel but it has clearly undergone significant renovations and upgrades to the rooms. Room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was superior to similarly priced hotels. Downside was additional $15 per dog charge but still overall very reasonable rate, and no grass for walking unless you go on way back behind hotel.
Even given those small issues we would definitely stay again.

We stayed one night. Paid additional pet fee. Bed comfy and was nice to have a table and chairs. Downside was that there is no grass for the pups. They have strips of landscaping with rocks which is the place dogs need to use. It would be great if they could add a grass area.

We needed a place to stay during a cross country trip so we stopped here because they’re pet friendly (we even found out they have a dog wash and special towels for pets...I would have loved to try it out but it was so late when we got there, we didn’t get a chance and left early the next morning). They mention when you check-in that pets aren’t allowed on the beds or furniture, but I can’t prevent that with mine. We didn’t spend long there, but the lady at the check-in late at night was very nice. There’s a cute gift shop in the front. Our bathroom had a HUGE window in it and it was horrible in the morning . I wish they’d put curtains in there or close it up. It’s an older hotel, but I really liked how big it was in the room. I’d add a grassy area to walk pets because there was a bunch of rock and concrete. Finally, while I didn’t go physically, my husband went and got us all breakfast and he said there weren’t many options at all, especially if you don’t eat meat. I had a good bagel, but I would have liked to have yogurt or a banana too. My aunt can only drink decaf coffee and he only saw a coffee pot marked as regular. Not a huge deal, because we had decaf in our room, but it would be nice to have access to it at breakfast.
