    Good for dogs

Nice grassy enclosed courtyard for the dogs to wander without leash for a short time. Room was big, bed very comfortable. The dogs were treated well and only $25 for the 2 big dogs.

    Scary location

Felt unsafe walking my dogs around the area that was encircled by an electric fence.

    Fine not great

They had us on the 2nd floor which meant an elevator ride and a long hallway walk. Outside area has poo bags but it’s gravel. Not an issue for my dogs but hard for some. Hot breakfast in the AM is nice (out at 6am which is even better). I could hear the loud footsteps of the person above me all night and morning so that really made it hard when I needed sleep for a long drive. The area around the hotel is a bit run-down but my luxury vehicle packed with possessions was left alone overnight. The hotel was fine, not my favorite.

    Good location

Okay, I’ll start with this… the room was clean and it was a good location. If you are super picky about your place to stay, you may find this place not up to par. We just want a clean room to sleep in. The hotel itself could use an update but other than that, it was fine for one night. We had to be evacuated at 1:30am due to a fire in the laundry room but not a fault of the hotel. Just insanely loud alarms that all the dogs sleeping there were panicky. For a quick night passing through, you can’t do wrong. Free breakfast was decent!

    They allow big dogs

It’s difficult to find a hotel that accepts larger dogs -- 35 lb cut offs seem to be the norm when you call a ‘pet friendly’ to find out they have weight restrictions. Anyway, this hotel had large rooms with plenty of space, comfortable beds and a large sofa. The hotel is essential and has been remodeled. Location is quick in and out for highway access, and when in Albuquerque, there is really no ‘good area’ to stay, but most hotels have security patrolling the parking lots, and this location did.

We had luggage stowed on our travel hitch and all was safe overnight. For the price of the room, the very cost effective charge of $25 for 2 dogs over 50 pounds, it was a win for us. We will most likely stay here again on our travel route. Pro tip: Grab dinner before checking into hotel. Once you are settled in, you can’t leave dogs unattended and the meal delivery order system stops at 8:30. That was a bust for us trying to order at 8pm with technical issues with the restaurant. Just grab your food to go before you check in.

    Good location

Room was clean. All the dogs were on the 3rd floor so was a little noisy with dogs barking. Breakfast was not the best, not a lot to choose from. Most of it was cold. Girl at front desk didn’t seem to be concerned about people wanting to check in; she was in back not paying attention to guests. We had to say hello 3 times waiting on her to check us in.

    Great hotel

The staff and counter help were exceptional. The room was spacious and quiet. Also room service saved us a trip out for dinner after a long drive.

    Wouldn’t recommend

I wish I could upload my photo showing the way the plumbing in the shower was “repaired” with painters tape. The building is in poor repair and it’s not a comfortable place to stay.

    Rough Location

The area around this hotel made us feel unsafe but once inside the hotel we were fine. We believe we saw a person smoking crack or meth in the parking lot.

    Decent for a night

Arriving at the hotel, it was very clean and nice. Checking in was really quick and easy, especially having prepaid through BringFido. The room was nice and modern, spacious and comfortable couch and bed. The only downside to the room was the bathroom - toilet seat was broken and the shower had very little pressure. The pet courtyard was nice during the day, but getting in a little late at night, there was very little light after the sun went down. Overall it was ok, we were only there for one night and it served its purpose. If we were staying longer, we might have been more annoyed at some of these things.

    Not a good Location

Didn't love there wasn't any grass. Room floors were slick. Plus bathroom lacked sufficient lighting.

    Strict pet policy

The hotel makes it clear that they will kick you out if there is so much as one noise complaint. It was a struggle to keep our dogs quiet because you can hear everything above and to either side of the room. There were kids jumping off the bed and yelling above us until 10:30pm at night. I am assuming that their family was not read the riot act like we were. Beyond this, the room looked and felt like a hospital room.
I wish we had a positive experience, but we didn’t even get a kind welcome much less a water bowl for the dogs.

    A must stay

The rooms have been upgraded very nicely. Very clean, nice beds, large mirror in the bathroom. This is probably one of the nicer places we've stayed. Breakfast was good: bacon, eggs, waffles, juice and cereal. I'm not a breakfast person so I'm not entirely sure. Will definitely put this in our rotation.

    Thumbs down

They turned us away even with a "BringFido" reservation including a 3rd dog (that weighed 5 pounds. All 3 weigh 5 pounds). We had to scramble to find another hotel late at night. Very much NOT appreciated as we had our 8 year old grandson too. Shame on La Quinta by Wyndham.

Hotel was fine, area was sketchy

Overall the hotel stay was fine. Check-in was easy and fast with friendly associates. The room was spacious for us and our pit bull. The rooms can use some updating especially the showers, but not bad for a one night stay. The area though is very sketchy; lots of homeless walking around. The hotel even locks all their doors after 8pm.

Exhausted and traveling with pets for the first time. The young lady who checked us in was great, the room worked very well for us and the animals, and the breakfast was good and fresh. We left rested and refreshed.

    Nice Room

They are in the process of remodeling. Our room had been redone and was very nice. Breakfast was very forgettable. Lobby was in process of being refurbished. Lots of space to walk the dog. A little concerning that the fence has a sign that says, 'Caution 7000 Volts.' I believe it is a fence that belongs to the neighbors but it may also say something about the neighborhood. The room itself was very nice.

    Terrible Experience

This hotel is currently under renovations which may be what led to several issues with our stay. First, the room was a decent size and well kept. The room was still under renovations in some areas, as there was a large hole is the ceiling of the bathroom. In addition, only 2 towels were left for a family of 5. When we called the front desk to request additional towels, we were told we would need to wait at least an hour for a load to be washed. We then had to go downstairs to grab the towels as there was only 1 front desk person and she was busy and unable to step away. As we were getting ready for bed, we noticed the AC had not turned on and it was a bit stuffy in the room. My husband tried to power it on, but it would not work.

They had the older unit by the window but being managed by a thermostat on the wall. We called the front desk and she requested we reset the thermostat panel. She also reset the breaker, as per her manager's recommendation, and still the issue persisted. She could not accommodate another room for us and at this point it was almost 10pm, and we had an early start to our day. Front desk offered a "fan" for the night, which we accepted but after 25 minutes, had not received it. I had to go downstairs to obtain the fan. Needless to say, it was a long night with 3 kids and a cat, but we managed. I did speak with the manager the next morning and she was apologetic and did offer a discount, but overall, the price we paid was not worth the hassle we had. Glad it was only a 1 night stay.

The neighborhood was dodgy. No bags for dog poop, remodeling was a bummer, and one odd elevator. But the people working were nice.

It's difficult to give a review when the hotel was being renovated. I can tell you it was the comfiest bed I've ever slept in!!!

    Under MAJOR renovations

First, the positives. The staff were great and very kind to me and our dog. Unfortunately, the "Pardon our Dust" signs don't make up for the construction noise (I think they were sanding or sawing something in the room next door which caused my dog to be on high alert) and the literal duct tape threshold to my room, or the non-functioning ice machine any several floors. We checked out as daybreak and got out of there as quickly as possible. I wouldn't want to stay there at all, but certainly not multiple days.

    Did not stay!

This hotel is in a terrible location that did not make us feel safe. We drove up to it with our reservation, and with one look, decided it was not worth it, and booked at a different hotel. This is located behind a used auto parts shop and a tattoo parlor, and had several signs warning guests that the hotel was not responsible for any theft or damage to vehicles.

    Bad location

This La Quinta is in a horrible location! In addition, the hotel was filthy and old and under "remodeling". The only upside was that they allowed dogs. Do yourself a favor and find a better one in a safer location!

Easy on and off I-40 exit

Pleased they made an exception to dog limit and room was spacious but outdated, air conditioner so loud making it hard to sleep. Considering they charged a pet fee, I would have expected a cleaner room. Dogs were sniffing everywhere. Sprayed Lysol on the floor and put an end to that. Hotel was overpriced for condition, spa not working and surprise resort fee deducted from deposit that was not disclosed at check in. Always great to see a security guard and police car at the front door when checking out.

It’s a place to stay, that’s about it

The area is not good, lots of homeless around. The hallway smelled of urine pretty bad. My girlfriend and daughter woke up with bite marks on their legs. Can’t for sure say it was from here, but we were in a car all day, so the odds of it coming from somewhere else are pretty slim.

    What happened to this hotel?

We stayed hear 6 years ago and raved to everyone how clean it was and it had an enclosed grassy area for dogs. Hope my friends aren't questioning my judgement! This time, the hallways were dirty and worn, rooms also. The grassy area in back needed mowing - at least a week ago! The area is sketchy and we were worried about our car possibly getting broken into. The front clerks were great but in the morning when we saw FAUX News on the lobby tv, no way would we frequent this hotel again, even if it had been nicer.

    A Mixed Experience

On the good side, the room was very spacious. Furniture a little shabby. No list of numbers for TV. The front desk was kind of unprofessional—eating and drinking when we approached and kind of indifferent. A older man walked by with no shirt and sweatpants, not a good look. The previous occupant left clothes and an old pizza box and we had to call to get them removed. No grass for dogs was a problem. Breakfast was good. Fan in bathroom comes on when you turn on light. It is very noisy.

    DON’T STAY HERE!

I know you’re traveling across the country an have a large dog. I also know there aren’t many places to choose from off I40. But this is the dirtiest and most run down hotel I’ve ever seen and we travel a lot. In addition, security was in the parking lot when we arrived and doors were locked at entrance and it was only 8 pm … a sign that the area is not safe. It certainly didn’t look safe and we were too nervous to take the dog for a evening walk. Keys didn’t work at check in and receptionist didn’t bother to say sorry. In fact he didn’t bother to speak. Half the lights in room didn’t work, the list goes on! Anywhere has to be better for you and your pup 😳

Perfect for pets. There’s a fenced area off the dining room so you can feel safe at night. Large area behind the hotel. Poo bag dispensers and ample garbage cans. Very friendly hotel. Large rooms.

    Very nice

The immediate area was not very nice but the hotel was. Nice people. Usual breakfast. Pet areas graveled and without shrubbery. Didn’t want my wife out after dark. Very convenient to and from I-40.

    Average hotel

We just stopped here after a 15 hour drive and were leaving the next morning. We had stayed here two weeks before and had no problems. They have a nice private, fenced in area for your dog to run around in. However, we did get into our room and the fire alarm was low on battery so it was beeping. Luckily that was a quick fix of just detaching it and setting it in the hallway, there was one other fire alarm in there that was fine. Also, our TV did not work. It was not a big deal for us since we were going right to bed and were not staying there long. The front desk person was very nice and helpful.

I was so surprised at how quiet it was for a all pet friendly hotel! All the amenities you need, not in the best location but was fine.

Could be nice but under repair

The hotel was not in the condition advertised. The indoor pool was under construction, the area to walk the dog was small and also fenced off for repair. Comfortable bed, good first floor location. Location of hotel itself seemed to be in a low income and/or industrial area.

    Great staff, Lousy Wifi

Hotel was great. Staff was awesome. Wifi was nonexistent, there was a signal, but Wifi speed was capped at 1-Mbps. Can't say this will work for people like me who were there for business.

    Below average

Hallway on first floor smelled of urine, bed frame smelled of urine, courtyard area had dogs not on leashes and did not appear friendly. Albuquerque needs more medium size dog friendly choices. Our arrival and checkout went smoothly. I chose this location based on it's 4+ bone rating. Beware of ratings fellow doggie owners.

    Nice place

Echo the rough neighborhood: lots of curious people milling about at all times and probable drug use. Hotel itself is clean and welcoming and quiet. They do a good job with security, and there’s an inner courtyard for pups to poo. Grab n go breakfast was sufficient.

    Quick, easy and definitely friendly

The room was a good size for a really good deal. The enclosed pet area was great for my dog to run around and let off some stress from traveling. We managed to get a room the same day for a pet friendly room. They even have treats of the dogs will take them. The front service was amazing and quick to get us checked in with how late in the evening we arrived.

    Safe and suitable

Nice, small enclosed grassy area to let the dog run. Good for the late night and early morning needs. Good walking area around the hotel. Breakfast was a so-so bag meal. Rooms nice.
The morning clerk wasn’t wearing a mask the 3 times I interacted with him.

    Loved staff at front desk

Positive welcome and helpful referral by Jacqui at front desk. Place was clean and beds comfy. Unfortunately, the tub/shower faucet fixture was loose and not adequately operational. Tub/shower needs updating, as some have said. Cast a pall over otherwise homey LaQuinta experience.

    Great for dogs and family

This was a very clean hotel, with an off-leash dog park which was perfect for my dog to run free during our road trip. The General Manager was very hospitable and helpful with requests. They had bagged breakfast, which is a big plus when many places are removing food entirely. I highly suggest this hotel if you are in Albuquerque with pets.

    Perfect road trip stop

Fantastic staff and great location off I-40. They were so thoughtful in giving us a room right next to the dog relief area outside and on the first floor. Really appreciate how kind and sweet they were when our pup accidentally snuck out of our room.

    Best!

La Quinta and Holiday Inn Express are the best pet friendly and the best quality hotels for the price. Every room at this La Quinta was pet friendly. They also had a completely enclosed area with grass, pet bags and trash can so your babies could run off the leash. Downside is it also is used for smokers. Rooms were spacious and clean. Close to highway 40 and restaurants.

    Deserves 10 bones

Our dogs (and therefore us) loved this hotel. This was the first time that our big dogs stayed in a hotel. Usually, we camp. Our travel trailer was involved in an accident so we stayed here over a week. The walled courtyard is perfect for dogs to play and "do their business." They keep dog cookies on the registration desk and the staff is quick to help you with anything you need. For the most part, other owners cleaned up after their pets. We highly recommend this hotel.

    Two Non-opposable thumbs up

We spent one night here with our two pups as we are driving cross country. While in a more urban setting, there was plenty of space to walk our dogs. There was a pet relief station near the front, with clean up bags provided, and even nicer was a courtyard pointed out by the receptionist where dogs could wander around freely. It too had a generous supply of sturdy pick up bags! Inside we had a generous king bed room which easily accommodated two medium dog crates. The good sized refrigerator was greatly appreciated. While we were given a third floor room, the elevator was easily accessible and readily available . We saw that we had neighbors on both sides of us, as well as across the hall, but we spent a quiet night at this La Quinta. We did a lot of research on BringFido and were not disappointed in our choice. I took off one bone due to the selection of restaurants nearby but I was told there were some a short drive away. That just did not work for us and we would have like to walk to something. Breakfast was adequate and the employees were all helpful and friendly.

The hotel has some maintenance and cleanliness issues. However the friendly and professional staff makes up for an aging hotel. Nice small courtyard for the dogs to play and humans to barbecue or enjoy the weather is a nice unique feature of this hotel.

    Perfect Location

This hotel sits right in the middle of all the things we wanted to see & do. We had 3 dogs, (only allowed 2) & someone from BringFido liaised with the hotel to receive special permission for 3 dogs. Everyone was friendly, & commented on how cute our dogs were, which sealed the deal! Huge room gave our puppies room to run & play, & it did not stink. The *dog park* was used every day by our older dog. Good breakfast, also. We will stay here again.

    Excellent Overnight Stay

I stayed here in lieu of the Red Roof nearby. Same relatively sketchy neighborhood, but La Quinta seemed to be better lit and better laid out; it just seemed like a different neighborhood even though the RR was just a few hundred feet across the parking lots. It's a very dog friendly venue -- though unlike RR, it has carpet which I take points off for -- including a walled in, quasi-off lead area. The external dog walking and "exercise" areas are well marked and laid out. Room was large, bed comfortable. Oddly, the microwave and the refrigerator were pretty dated, but they worked. Nice desk for doing a bit of work before calling it a night. Good wi-fi. Noise of conversation in hallway was somewhat noticeable but did not affect sleep or stay; didn't bother the Airedale, either. More expensive than the RR, but I'd likely stay here again rather than the RR; worth the extra expense for me. Overall, a good overnight accommodation for dog and person.

    Lots of dogs

There were LOTS of dogs at this hotel. Room was huge, they had it scented, which for me is not a good thing, they put us right next to the outside door to the pet area which was great! Very easy to get dogs in and out. The major downside to this stay was that there were 2 cars that had their windows smashed, only assuming it was a burglary. Not our car fortunately.

    Great spot for dogs

We have 2 large dogs and this is a solid dog hotel in an urban location. It isn’t a particularly nice hotel but they get a solid A for dog friendliness. Fairly large area in the back that’s fenced on 3 sides. We were able to tire our dogs out in the morning before we loaded up-

Really nice hotel, not the best part of town

The hotel is very nice. The people are very nice. The part of town it's in, not so nice. It's a little sketchy, but definitely worth looking into. There was a nice sized area on the side of the hotel to relieve your pet. The room was very nice and clean. I would recommend this hotel.

NO grassy area for dogs to go potty in. La Quintas are always great places to stay. They are clean and have continental breakfasts. However, the room we were put in was on third floor so stairs or elevator, hope your dog is not fearful of either. I always appreciate a lower floor when traveling with our dog.

    Amazing dog friendly hotel

This hotel is a small la Quinta tucked away in Albuquerque. Others have noted that the neighborhood is not great, which is true, but the hotel is a safe haven for those traveling with pups. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating of me and my GSD puppy. The grass courtyard is clutch and makes it so you’ll have the perfect spot to run the dogs around off leash. Couldn’t ask for more when traveling with dogs!

    The Accolades Are Accurate

We’ve been staying at a string of LaQuintas across the country and none measure up to this location. The best feature is the side and backyards are well maintained, coated with new clean smooth gravel and offer an opportunity for your pup to run a few sprints in a mostly fenced area. At least the borders are fenced and no cars anywhere. Thoughtful, knowledgeable staff. Totally worth the small premium

    Fabulous Stay

We stayed here over night on our trip to Vegas and on our return trip home. The hotel is fabulous and so doggy friendly. Very clean all smoke free. Wonderful fenced in area with grass to let your fur babies off leash to use the facilities. Would recommend this hotel to all pet parents. Great breakfast and the parking lot has bright security lights and cameras. Will definitely be back next year.

    Great Stay

We just stayed one night at the La Quinta Albuquerque Midtown, but it was great. We weren't charged a fee for our 70 lb Lab (thank goodness) and Lawrence at the desk was great, they had treats, a small courtyard where we could run her in the evening to tire her out and the room was clean and comfortable. Our wood turtle even enjoyed her evening roaming the bath tub. Highly recommend it. The area is a little sketchy, but the hotel was great.

    Great Service

The night before with our two dogs at a hotel in Needles was a nightmare. So it was wonderful to come to LaQuinta in Albuquerque. Where first it was clean and us plus pups were greeted by friendly staff that went out of their way to make it comfy. There was no fee and our pups loved the play area.

    A Refreshing Evening

This property is at the intersection of I-25 and I-40 and you need to pay attention when exiting. Mark, the front desk person, was extremely helpful. My Black Lab and I were here on a Friday night in June 2018; the hotel was full of guests, parties, and hyper dogs. But the staff reacted quickly to my noise complaint after 10 pm. Plenty of space to walk behind the hotel. The Coronado Dog Park is very close to the hotel, well maintained with both large and small breed areas.
