When you travel back and forth from CA to TX you quickly learn that most hotels don’t have a grass area. This hotel has two fake sod areas in the front of the hotel and a small fenced area in the back of the hotel with real grass. My dog appreciated this. The hotel room was clean and quiet. The room did not smell like dogs. The gal at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

La Quinta always gets props for the dog policy—and the staff were super-friendly. Would I recommend this? It was inexpensive, but there was a lot of noise between rooms. The wifi was really not fit for purpose, with multiple overlapping networks, and the need to try multiple times to connect. The ice machines on floors other than the first weren't working—and had been left that way for long enough that there was a sign in the lobby. The curbs in the parking lot were crumbling in several places, and the room and bathroom were fine but very tired: for example the sink had a huge crack, and the bathtub barely drained. In short, this is not a good property: there has clearly been almost no ongoing maintenance, and if this were the first La Quinta I had stayed in, it would also be my last (thinking of a competing chain that features a red roof in its name, that I am not naming). Two bones feels mean when the staff were so nice and when they will take a dog, and for just $10. Equally, I don't really know how I would give more.

My dog was treated just fine, but this La Quinta was kind of dirty, didn’t have soap in the room, and the free breakfast was not decent like other La Quintas.
