  The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was even an enclosed dog area behind the hotel so my dog could be off leash. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean.

  The room was clean. The staff were nice. The pet area was not cleaned up at all -- feces everywhere. It was tricky with no grass too. There were a couple of stray dogs hanging around. It was convenient to have a gas station next store and it was right off the highway.

  Our two queen room was clean and adequate. BBQ restaurant next door was the best food of our six-day road trip. Small fenced area for dogs with rocks on ground. Our Oregon doggo wasn’t a huge fan, but it got the job done. Busy area around the hotel. You could hear trains but wasn’t terrible.

  Hotel is nice and clean, comfy bed. I can only give it 3 bones because the pet area is only rocks. There is no grass or bushes anywhere around the hotel or parking lot.

  We are grateful for comfortable, well-appointed hotels that allow us to have our dog with us. We all had a good night’s sleep in our clean and cozy room at La Quinta in Gallop, NM. We will stay here again next time through.

  Made the reservation via phone on the road. Upon arrival the desk clerk changed our room from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor. We got room 112, a fricking suite! We were in 7th heaven. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. If I could give this establishment 10 Bones I would. f we ever go through Gallup again this is the place we are staying. Also the dog park in the back is outstanding.

  Great location, easy to get to right off the freeway. Staff very friendly and check-in very easy. Suite large and comfortable with great views. Very dog friendly and had a nice little doggie area. BBQ restaurant right next door was extremely convenient and delicious for dinner. Breakfast was great though wish they had different coffees brew selections.

  BringFido is having an influence. There were lots of guests with doggos here, and everyone I saw was treated nicely. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended.

  They have a tiny enclosed area where my dog could do his business. No place to really walk but not many choices in Gallup. Hotel was clean and breakfast was decent.

  Fenced Pet Area

  It was great having a small fenced in pet area where your dog could be off leash. The other 2 hotels we stayed at did not have such an area, so our dog had to be walked on leash everywhere. This hotel is located across the street from the train tracks. The trains come by quite frequently and can be heard even though our A/C was on and the windows are closed. The noise didn't wake me up once I did fall asleep, but it did make it difficult for me to do so. I'll add that my husband had no issue with the noise, so obviously it's effect will be different with different people.

  Very accommodating and friendly. Rooms were very clean & beds comfy. The only negative, kinda, was the breakfast room. They were very busy with many families with kids; all the tables were taken leaving several disability seniors without tables. We made due with the seating at the front desk.

  Overall great hotel

  Rooms were modern and roomy (I booked a King Suite) and they have a nice gated dog area with a picnic table. It's all smooth gravel though, fine for my dog but I know one person was having trouble with his dog not figuring out how to go #2 there. It's located in a large plot with other hotels though, so it's easy to take little walks, and there is a grassy area closer to the highway for picky dogs that need grass to relieve themselves.

  The front desk person was not friendly. I asked for my membership go fast price and she just ignored me! She also has no idea where the rooms on the second floor are located. Sent us to the wrong door to park by. Also very thin walls.

  Good stop on a road trip

  We stayed at this location while on a cross country trip, and the room we stayed in (a suite, king bed) was clean and had plenty of room for our dog to work out some energy. Breakfast is the usual fare.

  La Quinta was reliable as usual. Checked in quickly. I usually pay extra for the suite. This one was nice. On the 2nd floor. Bed with a living room area, plus big table for computer and electronics. Very comfortable. Easy to get around to historic downtown and area with lots of dinner options. Solid 1 night stay for me and my husky.

  The room was clean and the staff welcoming. It's very noisy, very busy hotel, lots of back and forth bc many dogs. Our room was right in front of the "dog area" so lots of barking and chatters. Overall it worked for a quick stop on our way home to CO. It served its purpose.

  WOW!!!

  This is a great hotel to come to we have 2 Great Danes and the stay was perfect. Staff is awesome very kind and friendly. The room was lovely. Breakfast was by far the best yet. There is a 24-hour Dennys next door as of October 2022. Along with a gas station if you need to fill up in morning.

  Nice hotel. Clean, easy to find. Be warned it’s on Route 66 and near train tracks. Noisy area if your room is on that side of hotel. Pool and spa were out of service.

  Apprehensive

  We were a little apprehensive of choosing La Quinta from all the previous reviews about the trains and its noise. We happened to have our room on that side of the hotel and we did hear it from time to time but it wasn't horribly loud to us. We loved the gated dog area at the back of the hotel. We wished it had been a little bigger and with half grass and half gravel versus all gravel. The staff has been very courteous, the room very clean, and with carpet in the bed area, there was no odors from any previous pet soilings. We would definitely come back.

  Enjoyed this hotel!

  Excellent front desk service, hotel was very clean and new looking. Room clean and very comfortable king bed. I read reviews about the train but only heard one train after our arrival about 6pm; not loud and gone quickly. Our golden retriever had a good stay as there was a good sized, very clean dog area out the side door and she got to chat with 2 friendly pups. Will definitely return to this hotel when traveling this way next trip.

  Extremely noisy location

  If you are searching for a good night's sleep, keep looking. This hotel is located next to a train line and close to I-40. Trains go by several times an hour, and the noise from large heavy trucks fills the gaps. I tried turning on the a/c fan to mask some of the noise but that didn't help with the vibration from all the trains and trucks. Got very little sleep. Gave up at 4:30 am and got back on the road. Also FYI, they are still using the COVID excuse to keep the pool closed and not provide housekeeping services. We were in room 307 facing the front of the hotel which is directly across from the train tracks, but rooms on the back face directly toward I-40 so probably aren't much quieter.

  Great staff, so so room

  The staff was very accommodating & patient. Had a very late check in with no problems and the lady and the front desk very patiently explained how to use the luggage cart in such a way that my sleep deprived brain could understand! Spoiler: you have to push the handle down to make it go forward; don't try to wheely it like me.

  Pros: convenient (to the highway) location; allowed my 65 lb pup no problem & had a small designated doggy area out back; room was clean and orderly; bed was comfy; really well insulated walls & windows; standard continental breakfast.

  Cons: close proximity to the train that runs at least every couple hours (the well insulated bit above was necessary) & my bathroom smelled like it had been cleaned with ammonia. Hubby didn't smell it but I found it to be super powerful. Although my room was next to the cleaning supply & laundry area so maybe there was a spill nearby? Overall a good experience though!

  At first I was nervous to choose this hotel after reading some poor reviews about other La Quintas. However, this one was absolutely amazing!! There were so many dogs there, but in your room it was quite enough that you would never know. There was an adorable fenced-in dog park outside which we unfortunately didn’t get to use much due to rain, but it seemed convenient for pet relief and some exercise! Room was clean, breakfast was decent, and I would 100% stay here again.

  Dirty room

  The bed was clean but I had to ask for air freshener because it was clear the carpets are not cleaned in the pet designated rooms. Even the air freshener didn’t help much. There was a dead roach on the bathroom floor as well. The breakfast options are terrible, cheap, and overcooked. Keep in mind this is in NM so the designated pet relief area is all rock and no grass which might be rough for some pups, especially when it’s 100 degrees out. The only perk was the lack of a pet fee. I booked elsewhere for my return trip through the area and paid a pet fee and what a difference in quality!

  La Quinta Gallup gets it right

  This hotel is an excellent place to stay with your pups on a road trip. The check-in was easy, and they allowed all 3 of our pups with no pet fee. The rooms are clean, spacious, very well updated. They have many plugs and usb outlets for your devices and the hotel provides good quality (Paul Mitchell) shampoo and conditioner. The breakfast won’t win any culinary awards but it gets you on your way conveniently. Fantastic place to stop.

  Great dog relief area

  Overall, it’s a decent hotel & I have no complaints about the stay at all. What will bring me back was the gated dog relief area. It was so nice to be able to let my dog off leash to do his business. There are also waste bags provided, if you don’t have any and I didn’t see any evidence of owners not cleaning up after their pets. I will definitely stay here every time I drive through this area.

  Our dog is anxious in hotels. Stomping, kids running down hallways and screaming really both him. He did well in this hotel. There was some noise which can be expected but a lot of dogs on the floor so I think we were all being thoughtful.

  Was just a quick overnight stay while on the road but the room was clean, the front desk was friendly (checking in and out), the bed was comfortable, very pet friendly, and one of the best things was the small pet area they had outside - made taking the dogs out so much easier!! They had a free breakfast but unfortunately I left before it was served so I can’t comment but the coffee was delicious!

  Good fenced area for the pups!

  The room was nice, and the staff was very accommodating. At first, we were close to the side exit door, which is loud if people let it slam, so my very alert dog was reacting every time. After about 5 min in the room, I realized that wouldn't work if people came in late at night, so I asked if we could move somewhere else to avoid my dog barking a lot at the door, and they moved me without any fuss or issue!

  Hotel is in a great location, easy to find. The road in front is Route 66, so there is traffic noise and from the railroad tracks across the street. If you stay, ask for a room on the back side. The facility is very nice and clean with an enclosed area for doggies. Fireplace in the lobby; friendly staff.

  Simple but nice and clean little hotel in Gallup. Overall, just a pleasant stay, but was so happy with the small fenced in dog area. We were able to close the gate and let our pooch frolic off leash for a bit. Definitely a perk and would stay again.

  Excellent facility, newer accommodations, super clean. There's a dog park within 5 miles for small dogs and large dogs, fenced. Breakfast is continental. Excellent coffee. Use key card to open secured outside door. No matter what siri tells you, loop directly off I-40 onto Route 66 at hotel! There are also other franchise hotels nearby and thus several restaurants such as Dennys. Would stay again.

  We stayed in a lovely Deluxe King room with ample room to play with our puppy, plus a refrigerator in the room. The hotel has a fenced dog park with poop bags on the premises. Even with lots of dogs in the hotel, it was a quiet place to stay.

  New hotel very friendly to dogs (there were many). Tiny dog yard, but no where else to walk as it's all under construction nearby. I drove my dog to the city dog park to get a walk in. But, for side of the highway it's a very good option.

  No breakfast in the morning. The pet relief area was disgusting because people were not picking up after their dogs. Front desk would not give me a receipt. We had stayed at a La Quinta in both Utah and Colorado. Both of these hotels were amazing. We will never stay in Gallup again.

  Never ever stay here; old, dirty and run down

  I arrive to find my room door ajar. My daughter's room had the cap from a syringe behind the nightstand. The rooms smelled like mold and pet feces with multiple stains all over the carpet. This place is an absolute dump. I will post pictures to prove it! We quickly booked 3 rooms at a different hotel and got a refund for the rooms at this La Quinta. I showed the desk clerk the rooms and syringe cap as well. Disgusting!

  Nice big room with plenty of space for dog roaming! I was next to the elevator and I didn’t hear anything! The only drawback for my pups was that there was literally no grass! Nice fenced dog area; but my girl dog struggled with doing her biz on rocks. My boy dog was fine though. I would probably stay here again as a second option.

  These pictures are not up-to-date this hotel has been completely re-renovated. The rooms are incredibly clean. Write beautiful modern furniture. PerCovid precautions everything smells clean and extra precautions were taken such as wiping the counter down in between customers checking in. We stayed here with our dog and cats and stayed in two different rooms both were equally comfortable and clean!! incredibly clean location. And if you’re looking for food DoorDash does deliver. And there’s also a Denny’s next-door!

  Amazing!

  we are traveling cross country and so far this has been the most amazing hotel for us and our 2 big dogs. large, clean and comfy room.. and the best part, a fenced in “dog park” area for the dogs to go to the bathroom. After being in a car all day, the dogs loved being able to run free! great experience!

  Cross country trip

  We used BringFido to book four hotels for our travels from NY to Nevada. Every one of the hotels was great. All provided protections from Covid contamination by limiting food service but there was an alternate available at three of the four with limited choices pre-prepared.

  Great stay!

  Nice, recently re-done hotel. My dog enjoyed his stay, and there’s even a little fenced-in dog area for them to sniff and go to the bathroom off-leash.

  Quick stay but nice hotel rooms. Smelled a tiny bit like urine At first but we were in a pet friendly room so maybe that comes with the territory. Still very nice hotel

  One of the better La Quinta Inn & Suites I've stayed at.

  Conveniently located right off the highway (easy to get back on) as well as right next to a gas station. Lobby was spacious, bright, and clean -was easy to maintain social/physical distancing. Inside/outside of hotel had good; safe vibes =)
  The young lady that was working that evening was very cordial.
  Just wish the hotel offered better food since there were limited food options near by. Overall had a very positive experience and would recommend booking this hotel.

  Wow in Gallup

  Nice new hotel with a dog park! Easy parking. Food choice available nearby and they even offered a bagged breakfast to replace self'serve during Covid19.

  Very nice hotel! Easy check in/check out. Has a fenced dog area for your pups. Recommend if you’re stopping in the area.

  Just okay

  Nothing to rave about - was very pleased how dog friendly it was and clean 🧼 however the dogs went crazy everytime the room doors SLAMMED loudly all through the night and early morning also the dog area was full of feces and I had to walk my dogs in the Parkinglot with little to no grassy area l. Not to seem complain-ish but the beds could use memory foam or something ... for the price it’s a bargain solid 3 out of 5 *Safe travels !

  Great place. Really ready to handle Covid complications. Nice to have the bagged breakfast as an alternate. Only negative was there is NO grass for doggies. Only stones and gravel.

  Great Room

  Room was super and clean but that was for me. The area for the dogs smelled so bad my dog wouldn't walk on it and CERTAINLY neither would I. People let their dogs pee against the building, especially where the side door was.

  The gated area for the dog was pretty clean. Big rocks to sniff around. Our puppy liked it. Accommodations for us we’re just average but great for the dogs.

  Lovely room but small area for doggy business

  No qualms about the room itself at this La Quinta, staff was friendly and helpful and there was a big jar of dog bones in the lobby. Free coffee and cookies in the lobby. They had a small fenced in area of fine gravel for doggy business. This is a very arid area so I understand it isn't realistic to provide grass. However, I have a princess pooper who refuses to do her business where there is too great a concentration of other dogs leavings so this just didn't work well for us. If your dog has no qualms about that, this will work fine for you.

  This was not only one of the nicer hotels I've stayed in that was pet friendly, but one of the nicer ones overall! We were traveling with our corgi and cat and chose the location due to their pet policy. They have a small dog park/run. Rooms were very clean and modern. Location was just off of I-40 and very convenient.

  Excellent!

  This was a great hotel! The room was clean and updated. There was a nice yard for the dogs to do their business. The continental breakfast was great with options for people that cannot or choose not to eat pastries and cereal. (I have issues with gluten so finding a free breakfast that meets my needs is not the easiest thing to do!) We will definitely be staying here again!

  Very Nice Accommodation

  We stopped here on our way to Reno. Great hotel close to the highway (convenient) & accommodations were nice, room clean and also had a microwave & mini fridge. I actually liked the small outdoor space for the dogs. I would def recommend this hotel.

  Nice hotel, my dog did not like it.

  The hotel was great with what I thought was a nice little dog park. My dog hated all the gravel and was stressed out because she couldn't find a place to do her business anywhere.
