    An overpriced dump

Rooms are straight out of 1983. No one is at the front desk - you wait and wait and wait until someone magically appears to check you in or out. We ate at the restaurant/bar and were told if we want to order cocktails it would “take a really long time.” We finished dinner and waited 45 minutes to find someone who could produce a check we could pay. We ordered food and it all arrived cold. And there’s a $22 fee to park in a half empty lot and a flat $75 pet fee. Save your $$$ and your sanity and your dog and stay somewhere else. So not worth it.

Fine Hotel for Humans, Would Stay at Buffalo Thunder Hilton Next Time

We were going back and forth between staying at this Hilton or the Buffalo Thunder Hilton about 15 mins away from historic plaza, and in hindsight we wish we had picked Buffalo Thunder. While it was nice being located so close to the plaza and restaurants, I think us and our dog would have been more comfortable with the extra space, amenities and safer outdoor areas that Buffalo Thunder has to offer. At the historic plaza Hilton there are no green spaces onsite, so we had to take our dog across the street to go potty at a small skate park that we quickly learned was frequented by homeless people. During an early morning potty break, my husband and dog were approached by an incoherent homeless man, and after that we would all go on potty breaks as a family together to be extra safe. If I had been staying there without my dog I’m sure I would have been satisfied with the experience, but after briefly visiting Buffalo Thunder Hilton on our way out of town we realized we and our dog would have been way happier staying there and just driving 15 mins to visit the plaza and restaurants!

    Perfect Location

The hotel room was lovely and plenty of room to put up 2 kennels. Would definitely stay here again. Loved the little park across street for those early morning / late night potty trips. Close walking distance to shops and center square plus quite a few restaurants to walk to. Best part was 5 minute drive to Frank S. Ortiz off leash massive dog park. We went every day. Very dog friendly town

    Nice Hotel—a little overpriced.

A well located hotel with good facilities. There is a nice little park across the street and a river walk for walking your dog. The plaza is just a few blocks away. My only complaint is that the dog fee is a bit high for what you get.

Historic Plaza Hilton - Great Location

This is a great Hilton as Hiltons go. It's pet friendly in the sense that they will let you have a pet but nothing else in the hotel is, i.e., no outdoor patio associated with the restaurant or bar area, so you are on your own in Santa Fe, but that's OK, there are plenty of options. Santa Fe is a city, so very little grass. I couldn't find "grassy relief areas on the property" and De Vargas Park across the street from the hotel is unfortunately a homeless encampment. All in all it's a great location and you can walk to everything. Plenty of pet friendly establishments to visit - Don't sleep on Casa Chimayo which is right across the street and of Food Channel fame (Diners Drive Ins and Dives).
