  Nice Rooms

  We were very happy with the room quality. The tickets for a couple of drinks also were appreciated. As our dog wasn’t allowed in the restaurant, we ate in the bar and enjoyed the food and drink. The food portions were very generous so we had a couple of doggy bags for sharing with our lab the next day.

  The room was very well situated for pets and even had a dog bed. Little niceties like the complimentary dog biscuits were very much appreciated! Staying here again!

  Hidden Gem

  This hotel is by far one of the best dog hotels I have ever stayed in. They have dog beds, treats, and poop bags in the room. The dog rooms are all tile floor and easy access to the pet relief area out back. Thank you Prospector!!! I have stayed here 4 times and it never disappoints.

  Better than horrible Best Westerns

  Our experience at Prospector was better then the other hotels we stayed. They have a wing for dogs and it was crowded and full of pets. There is a nice dog area for dogs to do their business, stocked with bags for removal. Cons, hotel room smelled like smoke, none of the electrical outlets worked in the room so we were unable to charge devices. They gave our vouchers for a few drink and gift but would have been better if continental breakfast was served.

  Can't believe all the 5 bone reviews. Hadn't booked this on line with BringFido and just went in to the office instead. The front desk was curt when I asked if she would match BringFido's price as she quoted me $25.00 more. Told me to go outside and book through them but she couldn't guarantee there would be a room when I came back. So I went out and then thought what the heck, I'll just pay the $25.00 in case someone else books before me. This took all of about 5 minutes and when I went back in, and the new girl that helped me asked if I was quoted a price, to which I told her $129.00 plus the pet fee. She said well the price has increased hy $10.00 to $139.00. So I walked out. This front desk clerk was even more rude. So we went 5 minutes to the Ramada and got a lovely room costing us $80.00 including the pet. Thanks Prospector you saved me some cash!!! So check out the Ramada, don't go here!!

  Great for pets

  Well set up for pets. Dog bed and treats in the rooms. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. It’s a casino so it had a bar and restaurant that were fine. We were there during a winter storm so outside options were limited. Would recommend if you are in the area.

  Dog-friendly hotel with section for dogs

  From the human perspective it was great. Cute dog art and a whole hallway of rooms for dogs and their owners. They left cookies and had a dog bed already in the room. The designated dog relief area outside was spacious. The downside was extremely thin walls. The hotel provides complimentary earplugs for humans, but my dog had a hard time sleeping for much of the night due to sounds of the other dogs all around us.

  The most dog-friendly place we’ve ever stayed. Clean, comfortable, unscented rooms! Russell had his own bed plus he was welcome in the casino and bar. Friendly staff, lots of outdoor dog space. Will return!

  One of the best around!

  Absolutely one of the best pet friendly hotels I've stayed at. The staff was friendly. The hall by the pet friendly rooms have pet pictures. The room was nice and clean. The best part was the little things. The dog treats on the counter, and poop bag. The dog bed on the floor, which my dog didn't use. And the little pet decorations in the room. Definitely worth staying there! I will stay there again next year.

  Fantastic Hotel

  I can't say enough about this hotel. Easy check-in, professional staff, free drink coupon, free gift in the gift shop, excellent Mexican restaurant on site and casino. The rooms are spacious, clean and well thought out. (no carpet, thank you). Dog beds provided, along with dog treats and poop bags. There's a large doggie relief area on the back side of the hotel. I will definitely be staying here again.

  Perfect!!

  This was such an exceptional place. All pet rooms are all on the first floor. Very easy to go outside onto the pet area, lots of grass and trees. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and “no smoking” really means no smoking smells ANYWHERE, through out the entire place! It was wonderful. We will definitely stay our next time through. PS - Our dog liked it too!

  Great dog hotel!

  The room was very nice, very clean, comfortable, and decorated in dog decor, that was adorable. There were dog treats in the room and a plush dog bed. A nice grassy area to walk your dog. Dogs are even allowed in the casino on a leash. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.

  Great place for your pooch or cat

  This place rocks for pet-friendliness! Every door in the 1st floor "pet wing" has a fun little sign (Man's Best Friend, The Cat's Meow, etc.). The room had a dog bed (we had our own but how nice to have one), some dog treats and food/water bowls! The room was clean, comfortable and well-kept. Hotel is in a good location and the restaurant had good choices/options and was good, including the margaritas! I would have given 5 bones if not for the smoke in the casino and lobby. I understand it's legal and don't have a problem with people smoking there.- just don't like the smell on the clothes after leaving. Definitely will stay there again if traveling through the area and need to stop for the night, even without the dog as I know there will be at least a pooch to pet. :)

  Older facility in North Ely

  Paper of a casino/hotel complex. A bit rundown with comfortable rooms. The rooms are not sound proof so noises come readily through the walls. Friendly staff and nice outdoor space for dogs on the leash.

  Room was very clean and accommodating. Restaurant on premises and casino. I put $20 in a machine and won $350.00 so the room, dinner and breakfast were free plus left over cash!

  Very nice and super pet friendly!

  The room was set up perfect for us and our pups! The front desk was very welcoming when we got in around 11pm. Great grass area in the back for the pups.

  Best dog friendly hotel!

  I read the reviews before booking about how great the place was for pets. It did not disappoint. Rooms were very clean, the beads comfortable, and the doggie treats much appreciated. Lobby was pretty smoke filled since it is a casino and was hesitant about what the room would be like. But no smoke in the room. Yay!

  Prospector Hotel is wonderfully welcoming. Room amenities for dogs and people are well above typical for an affordable hotel, and the staff treats visiting dogs warmly. The distance from downtown Ely is a small downside to staying here. The hotel restaurant is good.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was only a short stay but loved the pet friendly hallway and room decor. Dog treats, complimentary beverage and even pet beds in the rooms. We’d stay again. For us the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. No complaints

  This is a great hotel! The room was super dog friendly. Included dog treats, a dog bed and poop bags. The whole decor of the pet wing is all about doggies. The staff was helpful. And the dogs were able to go into the casino as well. Would highly recommend a stay here. The room was very comfortable even for the humans.

  Definitely will plan to stay in the future. From free drink vouchers, free gift at the Native American shop, free dog treats! Room we decorated in pet theme and large grass area for the dogs to do their business.

  The room was okay. It could have been cleaner. Desk phone was sticky and not plugged in. It appeared that cleaning crew likes to "cut corners" in their cleaning. Doggy area on the grass was excellent!

  Love It!

  A wonderful surprise to find such an accommodating hotel! Staff is really friendly and everyone we interacted with was happy that we and our dogs were there! Room was large and clean with a really comfy bed. Dog bed, treats and poo bags in the room. Lots of grass around the hotel to walk the dogs. There’s also a large park just a few blocks away if you need a little more room to run. All pet friendly rooms are in their own wing of the hotel the pet wing hallway is decorated with dog murals and the rooms are all decorated with dog artwork. Overall great stay, we’ll definitely stay again on our next trip through Ely!

  Wonderful Stay!

  What a surprise this place is! Pet friendly rooms had their own wing. At least 10 rooms. Ours was decorated with natural wood, mining decor, and old time photos. Dog bed and treats in room. Plenty of room for our large dog crate. Dogs were welcome in casino and bar. Great grassy area to play and potty dogs. Mexican restaurant on site. Great food. Definitely would stay here again! I

  fun and unique

  Stayed one night with 2 Great Danes. We had a few drinks, lost some money and ordered room service.
  Room was good sized, king bed decently comfortable, shower was good. Had desk and table with 2 chairs. Sink separate from toilet area. Only negative was that even though the rooms are non smoking, you are close enough to the casino that it did smell like cigarette smoke inside.

  Room service was ok. We had the ribeye and NY strip w/lobster tail. The lobster was dry and cooked into the shell. The NY strip was terrible - super thin and bland. Ribeye was just ok. Fried ice cream and cheesecake were good, not spectacular. I think maybe choosing from the Mexican dishes would have turned out better since this is their specialty.

  DOGS: Low fee (two pets of any size for $15 per stay), treats in room at checkin. They allow dogs everywhere but the restaurant, so you can hang out in the lounge or casino with your dog at your side. Very large and grassy potty area with trees and multiple waste stations provided. They have a "wing" for the pet rooms that has dog art on the walls of the hall and in the rooms - very welcoming and shows they aren't just tolerant, but truly dog friendly.

  Great dog friendly hotel

  If you ever have to stay over in Ely with dogs you must try the Prospector!!! Not only do they have a pet friendly wing, a great grass lawn for dogs but you can bring your dog into the bar and on the casino floor!
