Reviews
- AlexanderNov. 13, 2022Not Ideal
Room was pretty stinky. Rude front desk. We arrived early and were turned away. Nice pool-sized grass area in the middle of the parking lot for dog sanitary needs. Lots of homeless apparently living in the area.
- LauraOct. 12, 2022Total dump
We opened our door and the odor that met us nearly made me vomit. Upon entrance we noticed a dogs tooth on the night stand and hair all over in the tub. We requested our money back and we are still trying to get it refunded. We were not there even ten minutes. The front desk guy said he was not at all surprised that we were not willing to stay, but there was no manager and he could not provide a refund. Avoid this place.
- TriciaSep. 24, 2022Horrible, never again
Terrible stay. Awful location. Gross and disgusting room. Lots of scary people hanging around parking lot.
- LyndaSep. 9, 2022Location fine, Inn not so much
Room wasn’t very clean. Behind night table (plug socket was there) and under beds were disgusting. No mattress pad under the sheets. No towel bar or hook in the bathroom. Drain was really slow in the shower. No grab bar in the shower. Walkways we’re full of debris. That being said the pet area was large and nice but not fenced. These humans will not stay there again.
- KristenJul. 24, 2022Great dog relief area
The dog friendliness of the hotel was nice. The room itself was a little dingy, but the sheets were clean and it was quiet. It had a large area with trees for my dog to use the bathroom. It was also conveniently located.
- KathleenMay. 6, 2022La Quinta, Reno NV
Mold around bathtub, no blankets, pet waste bin not emptied. Overall experience was extremely poor.
- JULIEApr. 11, 2022Happy dog, happy us
Love being able to travel to Reno with our Border Collie! We were also able to find a good doggie daycare for while we were out at the convention center. La Quinta was centralized and very dog friendly with large dog comfort area.
- RichardApr. 9, 2022Not accommodating at all!
We had been on the road all night at we arrived around 12pm. In order to get into our room early they charged another $20 per room. They would not charge the card I gave them even though there was more than funds on it. The front desk was far from accommodating.
- JamesMar. 20, 2022Great location
Fine experience. Adequate area for dogs to do their business. Quiet.
- MichaelMar. 13, 2022Terrible place
Everything was either broken or didn't work well.
- RamonFeb. 9, 2022Pet friendly, but room moldy
The hotel room was clean but a little moldy. Had to ask manager to change first room because it had been smoked in and manager had told me it was a nonsmoking room. Only stayed one night. Most likely try to find another location next trip to Reno.
- TariJan. 17, 2022No Go
First room smelled of cat spray, second room reeked of weed. Unacceptable accommodation!
- TheresaJan. 16, 2022Poor Choice
Dog park heavily littered with dog feces, litter cans overflowing with garbage and cigarette butts/garbage scattered about. Initially assigned to room that was already occupied! The second room did not have a functional tv and office called 2x’s to have it serviced without follow through. Room window cover hanging lopsided from rod and unable to shut completely plus carpet filthy. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and courteous.
- PhilipDec. 23, 2021Needs Refurbishment
Nice dog park. Too bad guests don't pick up after their dogs. This establishment is in need of renovations.
- JDOct. 22, 2021Fairly dirty and loud
Parking was good if you have a trailer.
- CarlaSep. 29, 2021Bring cleaning supplies
I am glad I brought a whole bottle of Clorox Wipes… the room was filthy. I found a dirty washcloth over the shower curtain rod. The curtains were not hung correctly. There were finger print smudges all over the doors and light switch plates. The freezer part of the very old refrigerator was completely filled with frost… and the door was hard to keep closed. And the carpet, I am glad I had sandals to wear while in the room… so dirty. I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
- BenjaminSep. 28, 2021Think Twice Before Choosing This Hotel
While the location, near the airport is nice, this hotel is very dated and could be cleaner. The sheets and towels were awesome, but basics like vacuuming the room are lacking. Next time I am in Reno, I will find a different place to stay.
- BonnieSep. 7, 2021Close to airport
The property is very dated. The dog relief area was clean and poop bags were available. We would not stay here again in the future, needs major remolding, our room had an odor that was not pleasant.
- StevenJul. 3, 2021Woof!
Great center for dog overnight In your room. Space for walkies, bag dispensers, water, lots of trash cans, etc. Room was serviceable for humans, great place to throw a bed for Fritz, strong a/c for Reno nights.
- DonaldJul. 2, 2021Not a great spot
Pretty dingy hotel.
- BretJun. 5, 2021If we didn’t have dogs...
...we would never stay here. It was better than the Rio in Vegas however.
- WendyApr. 19, 2021Dog Friendly La Quinta Inn
Clean, dog friendly.
- IkechukwuApr. 10, 2021Nice dog park
The doggy relief area was pretty nice, although there's no fence. Give it five bones. No complaints at all. Pretty close to a few options for breakfast and brunch too. 👍🏾
- AnaMar. 8, 2021Disgusting
Stay away from this place if you can afford to. Carpet stained with vomit and pictures frames with male fluids. Furniture was filthy, walls stained with mucous and other stuff. Bath tub was really dirty and unsanitary. A shower? No way!!! Microwave was dirty. Dog relief area was full of dog poop that I did not even allow my dogs near there. Bedding was really worn out but decently clean. I do not mind to stay in a modest hotel as long as they are clean and sanitized. This place in very far from being safe. The room stank badly. From desk young lady was very understanding when I asked to be switched to a more decent room, she even seemed ashamed of working there. I was switched to another room alsmot as dirty as the first one but at lest the carpet did not have vomit all over the place. I promise myself not to book al La Quinta ever again, they are decaying and getting worse by the year. I won't risk my safety ever again and will spend more money to book decent lodging.
- SallySep. 28, 2020Disappointing
I booked a King Select room with micro and fridge. When I arrived for checked I was rudely advised by La Quinta staff that there were non available and I would have to take a room with two double beds. No micro, no fridge.
I kindly asked why my reservation was not honored. And La Quinta staff gave a very abrupt excuse about how these requests are not guaranteed when booked thru third party sites.
I basically had to beg for a fridge and one was dumped in my room.
The room itself was basic.
The grounds are not good for dogs at all. The area is very congested and there is relatively no area to exercise your dog unless you own a toy breed.
My dogs and I went walking through the neighborhoods which seemed safe so they could stretch their legs. Parking is very tight and there appears to be a lot of truckers in and out of the area, which is not a bad thing but there are lots of large trucks, and they get rolling at all hours. Which means a lot of noise.
The grounds of the hotel were not very appealing, in fact quite dirty.
I probably will find another place to stay when I visit Reno again. - JennySep. 27, 2020Are you true crime enthusiast?
You don’t have to be Dexter to tell someone lost a lot of blood in your room. Have fun trying to figure out what happened next to your bed...
I'm not normally one to post a bad review but this hotel is DISGUSTING. Before even walking into our room, the outside of the hotel is littered with trash, broken bottles and cigarette butts. After checking into the room, pretty sure it hadn't been cleaned at all. Hair on the toilet seat, mirror unwashed, walls disgusting. The front desk was super helpful changing our rooms, but the second room was worse. The bathroom still not clean, and it appeared someone had lost A LOT of blood on the carpet.Just EW. Go literally anywhere else.
- TerryAug. 17, 2020Great Pet Area.
The grassy area had two benches and enough area for two dogs to romp around.
- DeenaMar. 27, 2020Nice people, but...
Nice employees but the rooms especially the carpets needed a thorough cleaning
- BarbiJan. 30, 2020Review
Place is in desperate need of a remodel. But it was a fine place to sleep for the night with my girl.
- CraigJan. 3, 2020It’s decent
Very spacious, clean older hotel... only downfall was the bedding. We stayed early January and they only had a thin sheet and top sheet for blankets.... it was a chilly night but doable.
- DebbieDec. 30, 2019Our four legged child was very plesed with the room!
Room was nice, bed was comfortable. Bathroom could use some updating but water pressure was awesome! Some freeway noise! We would stay here again.
- JohnDec. 11, 2019We left
This place was run down and in need of repair/renovation. Our room had plumbing problems and we asked to be moved to another room and tried 3 more rooms all of which were unsatisfactory. Cleanliness of the rooms was bad. We were refunded for our stay. I would not recommend La Quinta Reno to anyone. BringFido was helpful in getting our refund.
- RickNov. 18, 2019Review
Really good dog area.
- HeidiNov. 4, 2019Wonderful customer service
I stayed at La Quinta during an evacuation to wildfires near my home with my kids and dogs. It was perfect for the price. I was given a room directly across from the little grassy area for dogs making it easy to take my dogs potty when they needed to go. The manager and staff were all very helpful and respectful. The room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. The lobby dining area has coffee and a microwave available 24/7 since the rooms do not have microwaves or fridges. A nice little place to stay when passing through.
- KarenOct. 30, 2019Subpar la Quinta
Dirty, old, mold on the bathroom tile. Carpet coming up from the floor. I have stayed in much better La Quintas in the past!
- GradyOct. 20, 2019Perfect for a short stay
This was just a quick stop for us on our vacation. Rates were great and the room was clean. There is a grassy area for pups to go potty. The staff was friendly and breakfast snacks were a bonus.
- JAug. 2, 2019Pet friendly
Was clean, staff was friendly. Very accommodating when it came to my animals. Most animal friendly hotels / motels allow dogs, but when your animals are not dogs, nice to find one that is open to other types of animals too. For the price and accomodations, was a great deal.
- DanielleDec. 17, 2018Clean Rooms, And A Nice Pet Area
There were no extra fees for the dogs
- TrudyJul. 19, 2018Not ideal
Our car broke down on Donner Pass and we had our 2mo old baby and our dog with us. This was an unexpected stayas we are waiting for car at dealership. We booked because it was a dog friendly hotel and no extra charge for him. Hotel is mediocre. Definitely old and not the cleanest. Carpet is gross and our tub has stuff on bottom. Not sure if i will take a shower. I might put a towel down as i am scared to stand on it. Hoping my baby doesn't pick up any sickness from this hotel. Beds seem clean but probably arent. Definitely wouldn't pick this again but it worked in a jam.
