- MarySep 15, 2019We Love The Golden Arrow But...
My family and I have stayed at the Golden arrow many times and highly recommend it if you are looking for a great place to vacation in lake placid but if you are bringing your dog along there were a couple things we found a little troublesome. The first is your dog cannot be left in your room even if they are in a crate. We completely understand why they would not want a dog loose in a room but leaving them in a crate for short periods of time would be nice. We weren’t able to enjoy things like the beach or pool as a family. The other thing we found to be a little more work was where to take her outside. Dogs re restricted to the third floor so there is a little bit of a walk to get them to a decent green space. We either walked to the green areas behind to hotel or to an open grassy area across the street from the hotel. Overall the Golden arrow is great and without our dog we will stay there, but we may try another hotel the next time we come with our dog mainly want a place that will allow us to leave her in our room for short periods of time. We love having her in placid it’s a great dog friendly town!

This was our first time to Lake Placid and it was awesome. This hotel is the best for dogs our cairn terrier loved it. We had a room with a lakeside view of Mirror lake which is beautiful. You have to request a lake view and it’s a little more expensive but worth it. The rooms without a lake view are cheaper. There is a $100 pet fee per dog up to 2 dogs per room but again it’s worth it because, outside my Maya was allowed everywhere except the sand area. She went with us on kayaks, paddle boards and canoes. And can swim in the lake. The whole town of Lake Placid is very pet friendly its so fun. This hotel is definitely worth more than 5/5 bones. We will definitely be returning every year.

Although the pet fee is steeper than most, this venue was lovely. The views can't be beat. Unfortunately you have to walk a ways to get to grass. A wonderful path around the lake. Staff was very welcoming to Tucker.
