High Peaks Resort
High Peaks Resort welcomes two dogs up to 75 lbs for an additional fee of $55 per pet, per night. Dogs may not be left in the room unattended. Four-legged guests will receive complimentary use of beds and bowls at check-in, and there is a pet relief area in the courtyard. Cats are not accepted. For same day arrivals, please call 877‑411‑3436 to confirm availability of a pet-friendly room.

Stayed in the main building while visiting for the total eclipse. Booked the pup package and there was a large dog bed, food and water bowl in the room when we arrived. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The location is perfect, right on Main Street, able to walk to restaurants, shops, the Olympic center, and around Mirror Lake. The hotel restaurant has great food and drink options and offers room service. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable and have seating on the balcony or walk out to enjoy the gorgeous view. The entire resort is well maintained and there is plenty of free parking for guest. Understandably dogs are not allowed in the dining area because it is indoors but there are pet friendly restaurants nearby and lots of shops are also pet friendly.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was great and very friendly! They supply a dog bed, and food and water bowls, even a bandana for your pup. Great place to stay for you and your pup!

Nice place to stay with your dogs but watch the pricing. The day I booked the price was $249 that I paid for a 4 day stay. The day after I checked in the price dropped to $180.

We stayed here with our dog for 3 nights. They provide a food and water bowl, as well as a dog bed, to use while you're there, and give your dog a bandana to keep. Our room was on the ground floor, lakefront. We had a patio door, which was great. It snowed constantly the whole time we were there, but we brought our shovel, so we were able to use the patio for taking our dog out.
We weren't able to leave him in the room, because he was really anxious and barked the whole time. We were hoping to be able to do that based on Google reviews, but absolutely did not want to disturb other guests. We did leave our dog in the room to run to a grocery store that was only 4 minutes away, and the hotel staff very kindly told us our dog was barking and asked us to return. I'm was very thankful for that since I try to be mindful of those around me.
Lake Placid, in general, was incredibly dog friendly. We saw a ton of people walking their dogs around, and best of all, there were dog poop bags and garbages on almost every block! - MarkJul 17, 2020Pet friendly but not human friendly
Front desk staff should not be in the service business. They are just unfriendly and not welcoming. House keeping staff was amazingly friendly. There was just a bowl in the room. No dog bed. Also hard to find a place to walk your dog. the Courtyard seems to be the best place but the staff provides no direction. Lake Placid is an extremely pet friendly town but I would try a different hotel considering the price!

High Peaks was a great place to rest our heads after a day of strenuous hiking. Our golden doodle was treated like royalty with her own bowls and 1st floor room. The grounds are very accommodating to walks with their ample grass and clearly marked “poop” stations. This dog family would definitely go back to High Peaks.

I spent a week at the High Peaks Resort with my dog . We had a great time , staff were very friendly , rooms were clean as well as the grounds. Steps away from Main Street with good restaurants and shopping.

High peaks is our absolute favorite pet friendly resort at which we have stayed! We book a lakefront room, and every other room has a dog, which makes us feel right at home. Everything you need is in walking distance, and everyone is friendly. Lake placid is a safe town with gorgeous views and a ton to keep you entertained!

We have a Pit-bull mix who was absolutely in love with all the staff and visitors at the hotel! We even took Lucky on a free paddle boat ride provided by the hotel! One rule, he had to wear a life jacket, no problem! Lucky was greeted with love all around Main Street and although we didn’t take him to any restaurants, if there was outdoor seating at one, you were more than welcomed to have your pet sit beside you! Great trip, will be returning!

The room had a balcony overlooking the mountains and the pool. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was extremely accommodating with our two dogs. We would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed at High Peaks Resort now on three separate occasions with my beagle mix,. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, they have always asked if I'd like a ground floor room. The pet bed, bowls and matt are always prepared in the room for us when we arrive. The front desk staff have always been happy to help with ideas for walks or dog friendly places to go. Your also able to eat and drink in the bar with your dog which is an added bonus! Its always a pleasant stay and I am looking forward to the next adventure!

I cannot say enough about this hotel. It is so dog friendly. They put us on the first floor so that to let the dog out we just had to walk out of our room and off the porch. The location is prime and you can walk through the whole village (which is also very pet friendly) without having to worry about the hassle of parking/paying to park. My dog was in love! He was given an adorable bandana, water bowls, a bed... And we even brought him to swim and kayak with us in their private lake swimming area!! I cannot say enough about this property, the staff, and how dog friendly it is. Worth every penny. We've been several times and they always exceed our expectations.
