    Disgusting and unsafe

I didn't know much about Red Roof Inns, but upon arrival I was aware immediately that this was a dirty and rundown motel. I was given a room on the 3rd flr which was a pain as I had a dog. The room was disgusting... the floor was sticky and the overall room smelled of cigarettes. They motel says no smoking allowed, but the amount of people smoking outside the rooms on the balcony surely infiltrates the rooms. I decided to stay just to get a few hours of sleep before hitting the road again, but withing an hour another hotel guest was trying to enter my room. I don't know if he was as much a victim of the hotel as I was, but the fact that he was given a key card that opened the door to my room made me feel completely unsafe and like I was destined to be on Dateline. I grabbed my things and my dog and hightailed it out of the motel. They have been non-responsive in returning my money which figures considering how poorly this place is managed.

    Wouldn’t stay again.

I knew this was a budget choice and I thought I’d be ok enough with it. I had low expectations but the location and price was tempting for a quick sleep during a road trip. When I pulled in I almost left. It’s a dark location and only parking lots around. The front desk attendant was really nice and that would be the one positive thing I could say about the stay. Anyway; she said the police monitor the parking lot and it had been very quiet that night. That should have been my first clue though. The room was tiny (not a surprise and fine with me) but really smelly. Smoke mostly I think, despite their non smoking policy. I didn’t want to walk back outside again and I decided to try to make it a few hours and then just hitting the road really early. It was a bad choice on my part. It was stinky, the heating system was lagging (it was 53 when I got there), and I wasn’t thrilled about using the thin blanket. There was one towel that could pass as a body towel and a mid size one that has a huge shredded hole. There was tons of noise outside the room that night (lots of people in/out, a metal shopping cart from wallmart, and a small gap under the door which made everything seem louder. Neither the dog nor I slept that night.

Good place for dogs with easy highway access

The Akron RR Inn is very nice and easy to get to. The hardwood floors were great for putting down pee pee pads, since my dogs were a bit “freaked out.” All in all, great place to stay with dogs.

    Clean hotel!

This hotel was very clean. Check in/out was so easy. I felt safe. Walls aren’t totally sound proof so you might hear people walk past your room (this wasn’t a big deal for me, but it’s important for others to know). Price was amazing value! This is not a 5 star hotel, but it’s worth 5 bones for the value! No complaints :) Apollo and I would stay here again.
