Worst motel experience of our lives!

If I could leave a review with 0 bones...I would have. We arrived around dinner time after many hours on the road. We were tired hungry and needed a bathroom badly. The desk clerk was a young lady who could have cared less about our needs. She was slow and smug. After she finally got us a room, we hurried into the car and drove around to the room. My wife hurried to get the key card into the door but it didn't work. We repeated this process 3 times without getting a room or a working key. We stormed out of the motel, stopped payment on our credit card and found another, much nicer motel for the same amount of money. We will never check into another Red Roof Inn, and I suggest that you think twice about reserving at this motel.

    Location was the best part!

Hotel was very run down. No fridge as promised, plugs in the bathroom didn’t work, burn marks on the linens supposed to be non smoking. Air stale and smoky. Even the dog wasn’t happy.

    Most basic

The room we booked was nothing like the picture posted on the site: much smaller and by far less nice. The painted walls and shower enclosure were clean. The super thin sheets were so transparent, you could see a dark spot on the mattress under it. The bedspread was full of stains. There was a cigarette burn mark on the toilet seat even though it was a non smoking room. There were 2 pieces of rug on the floor that I did not dare to walk on w/o shoes. The bathroom was so small, you could not close the door w/o maneuvering around the toilet but the towels were clean and the water hot in the shower. You could say you get what you’re paying for: true but the next night we stayed at the Motel6 Airport in Greensboro for the same price. Night and day: large room, fresh smelling, nice bed and everything squeaky clean. Red Roof Inn, never again.

    The worst experience

The room was dirty, the "100% non smoking room" was rank with cigarette smell. There were people talking on the phone, and coming and going all hours of the night! We will not go there again.

Wait till new management is in place

After reserving a room, we ended up in a room with a broken fire alarm. It beeped every minute. It was nine o'clock. They said the boss would be there at 11! They would make a reservation for me at the RRI in Columbus. But they would not help me find a place in Dayton. Also, we read on line that this location would be one that had been refurbished. Not true. Old and worn. Hopefully, when new management has turned this around, it will be worth a stay. But don't go now.
