Most basic
Red Roof Inn Dayton North AirportThe room we booked was nothing like the picture posted on the site: much smaller and by far less nice. The painted walls and shower enclosure were clean. The super thin sheets were so transparent, you could see a dark spot on the mattress under it. The bedspread was full of stains. There was a cigarette burn mark on the toilet seat even though it was a non smoking room. There were 2 pieces of rug on the floor that I did not dare to walk on w/o shoes. The bathroom was so small, you could not close the door w/o maneuvering around the toilet but the towels were clean and the water hot in the shower. You could say you get what you’re paying for: true but the next night we stayed at the Motel6 Airport in Greensboro for the same price. Night and day: large room, fresh smelling, nice bed and everything squeaky clean. Red Roof Inn, never again.
Great location, excellent food and service
Vintage Brewing Co. Sauk PrairieLunch on the deck ( in the shade, mercifully on such a hot day), overlooking the Wisconsin River. Our waitress brought a bowl of water right away for our dog. We ordered a salmon salad and a Thai chicken salad; both excellent and plentiful. Nice spot to stop on our trip.
Nice but really hot on the deck on a sunny early evening
Backwater Bar & GrillWe stop there for dinner with our dog. The deck where one can sit with a dog was fully exposed to the sun and very hot; no umbrellas; no shade. 6 pm on a hot and sunny day. The waitress was pleasant and brought a bowl of water for our dog but we had to eat really fast and leave to escape the heat and Sun. Fiesta Chicken Bowl was OK but not excellent : lots of rice and very little chicken.
