When you want to really spoil your dog, or just meet other dog owners who are as crazy about their pets as you, there’s no better place to bring Fido than a dog event. Attend any of the dog shows, agility competitions, costume parades, festivals or fundraisers on our Dog Events Calendar and you’ll meet hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dog lovers. And since 70% of the events listed benefit humane societies, attending one is a great way to help homeless pets too.

Homeschool Heroes

Homeschool Heroes allows home-educated children to, not only learn about and enhance the lives of shelter animals, but also participate in hands-on STEM learning that incorporates humane education. The Celebration of Fine Art

The celebration of Fine Art is an invitational art show featuring a juried selection of 100 of the most renowned artists across the country. This 10-week event will show works in all mediums and styles in over 40,000 square feet worth of space. Parking is free and friendly, leashed pets are welcome. Please note: Your ticket is a season pass that is good for the duration of the event.

Bob Tabor's exhibition Horse Whisperings

Emmanuel Fremin Gallery is delighted to present Horse Whisperings, our first exhibition of 2017 with celebrated photographer Bob Tabor. Horse Whisperings will run from January 26 - February 25 with an artist's reception on Thursday, January 26 from 6 to 8 pm, come meet the artist! Bob Tabor Bob Tabor is a Clio award winning creative director and photographer, most recognized for his outstanding large format prints of equestrian portraits. Each photograph has an abandonment of artificial lighting allowing the subject to be drenched in natural light appearing more vibrant. Tabor's works can be observed in Ralph Lauren showrooms and boutiques across four continents as well as highly acclaimed private collections including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. In addition to photography he is also a published author of books including “Horse Whisperings” whose proceeds were donated to Autism Speaks, in honor of an autistic 11 year old boy who made sounds for the first time during his encounter with a horse. Other outstanding equestrian themed books he has published are: "Horse/Human: An Emotional Bond" (2016) and "Polo: Equine Warriors" (2013).

Puppies 8 weeks to 4 months of age. Socialize your puppy with strangers and other dogs the correct way. Learn what is"bite inhibition. Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

Annual horse show where riders/trainers/owners travel from all over to compete in competitions. Admission is free and the shows lasts for ten days. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome not only on the grounds, but inside the main building and show arenas as well. Do make sure your dog is "horse proof" to prevent incidents.

This year Apalachicola Mardi Gras Barkus Parade them is BARK SIDE OF THE MOON. So aliens, astronauts, and all kinds of space creatures will be roaming the streets. The parade, for the benefit of the animals of Franklin County, begin at 1:00 pm, winds through town, ending at a free party with music, dancing, Cajun food, contest, and all kinds of fun. If you want to just watch it is free, if you would like to join the parade it is $5.00 per person, animals are free. Price varies with different type of vehicles entering the parade. Dakin Humane Society Vaccine Clinic

Dakin Humane Society offers affordable vaccine and microchip clinics every Saturday beginning at 9am at our Springfield Adoption & Education Center at 171 Union Street in Springfield. No appointment is necessary. While the clinic does not open until 9:00 am, the line can form early and is outdoors for most - if not all - of the wait. Services are limited to the first 40 animals in line each week. We recommend you arrive before 8:00 am to secure your place in line. Even after 9:00 am, depending on your place in line, your wait could be an hour or more. Dogs must be on leash. Cats must be in carriers. We accept cash and credit cards only (no checks). If a pet is up to date on his rabies vaccine, please bring records. We are located at 171 Union Street, Springfield. Please use the main Adoption Center entrance, NOT the side Spay/Neuter Clinic entrance.

The 18th Annual Women In Distress SAFEWALK-RUN 5K and 5th annual DogWalk

Women In Distress, a non-profit group dedicated to providing safety, shelter and hope to families affected by domestic violence, wants to eliminate barriers to getting help. More than 70% of survivors with pets at home said they would not leave their abuser for fear of what would happen to the family pet. Now you can help keep families, and pets, safe! Women In Distress is hosting a dog walk in conjunction with its 18th Annual SAFEWALK-RUN 5K on Saturday, February 25 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL so walkers can bring their pets to raise money to provide assistance for pets of survivors of domestic violence who reside in our shelters. Registration begins, at 7:30 a.m., kick off at 8:30 a.m. Sign up to walk the event or sponsor another two-legged or four- legged walker.
