Attend any of the dog shows, agility competitions, costume parades, festivals or fundraisers on our Dog Events Calendar and you’ll meet hundreds, maybe even thousands, of dog lovers. And since 70% of the events listed benefit humane societies, attending one is a great way to help homeless pets too.

Play MetroDemic

Join us for a dog-friendly game of MetroDemic north of downtown in the Dallas Arts District. Teams of 2-4 owners and their K-9 companions will team to save as many lives as possible from a deadly epidemic that is impacting Dallas. Your team will hunt for secret "outbreak" locations on a walk through the area and answer themed trivia to stop the disease. You'll have 90-minutes to rack up the highest score in the city! • This game is played entire outdoors and on foot, so dogs are entirely welcome to join you on your mission!

The National Dog Show

The Kennel Club of Philadelphia's National Dog Show's two benched, all-breed dog shows are held on Saturday, November 18 and Sunday, November 19, 2017. The shows, sanctioned by The American Kennel Club, will help raise money for a variety of canine-related causes. Prior beneficiaries of The Kennel Club of Philadelphia include The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. See AKC sanctioned Breed, Group, and Best In Show judging and top agility dogs in the ring each day. Saturday is The National Dog Show, Presented by Purina, to be broadcast nationwide on Thanksgiving Day by NBC. Sunday’s show offers enhanced athletic dog exhibitions plus family-friendly activities and hands-on fun.

Santa Paws - Ventura

Santa Paws is coming to town! Get some holiday shopping done while you wait at the Santa Paws Marketplace where many local vendors will be selling quality goods and a bake sale! • There will be many festive pet costumes to doll up your pets if you are in the mood. Dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, rabbits and birds are all welcome! • The packages for your Holiday photo shoot starts at $30 and includes 5-10 images. For a larger donation you will also have access to some wonderful HSVC keepsakes including the 2018 HSVC Calendar and more. All images will be provided on-site on a USB flash drive. For over 30 years, the Humane Society of Ventura County Santa Paws has been providing high-quality holiday family portraits for Ventura County residents and beyond. “Having helped with Santa Paws since 1990, it is always fun for us to see the families grow through the years,” said Greg Cooper, Director of Community Outreach and official photographer for the event. 6th Annual Barktoberfest

Barktoberfest is Orange County Animal Services’ rescue appreciation event that serves to celebrate the partnership between OCAS and the rescue community. Animal Services currently works with more than 100 rescue groups across the state that aid in the recovery and adoption of homeless animals. • Dozens of available animals will be onsite, in the care of the shelter’s rescue groups. This includes puppies, adult dogs, specific breeds and mixed breeds. With a wide variety of options, there will be a pet for each interested adopter available! Adoption prices and policies vary by group. • Event will also feature food trucks and vendors.
