James Island County Park

A visit to James Island County Park is a great way to spend an afternoon in Charleston with your pup. Said to be the best dog park in Charleston, this park features a dog beach, four acres of open grassy space, a cleaning station, fenced play area for small dogs, and waste stations.

Barc Parc South

This dog park has its own lake for dogs to play in and shade structures for the people. There are small and large dog areas, bathrooms, and another entrance near the small dog area.

Dr. Phillips Dog Park

This much-loved fenced dog park includes separate small dog sectioon, water fountains, and shade trees. Enjoy the lovely views while your pet plays off-leash.

Tanner Park

Tanner Park is not an official dog park, but leashed dogs are allowed on the park's many trails (and you do see pups off-leash as well). The park goes down in a gully, and at the bottom there is a bridge where many folks let their dogs off leash to play in the creek. The current is strong, so please use caution. This is not your typical fenced in dog park. It is like hiking in the wilderness. There are no bathrooms or watering areas so be sure to bring your own. There are a number of bag and waste stations. Please be aware that the hike back up and out is not easy if you are not in good shape. The road is dirt & rock.
