This hotel is very interesting because of the rich history it has. A very old hotel that saw its heyday during the sternwheel vessel days on the Ohio River. Lots of historical photos and the rooms are furnished with the old, perhaps original furniture from the turn of the century. Even though they seek to maintain some of the tradition from back in the day it would be nice if they would put a microwave oven and small fridge in the rooms for their guests. I mean, what's the harm in that since they put a coffee maker in there. Other than that I had a great stay. And they are very pet friendly.

Clean and comfortable and dogs OF ANY SIZE STAY FREE! To us this hotel gives you bang for the buck. Beautiful yet lived-in art deco on the Ohio River in the heart of downtown. Wonderful staff, and reasonably priced meals. Lots of well-manicured green space along the river for potty breaks.

Food was great, staff was exceptional my dog was allowed inside the bar but not the main restaurant of course grand old hotel but a little past its prime but very clean and well attended. Great value for your dollar.

We booked two rooms here for a graduation and had three dogs with us - two Golden Retrievers and a Labradoodle pup. Zero pet fees or weight limits - and the hotel staff was very accommodating to them - even had dog treats at registration. There was a mix up on my room (which was the hotel's fault not BringFido) but we made the best of it. It’s an older hotel and we didn’t have the highest of expectations but it was perfect for what we needed.

Wonderful ambiance; paved river trail right outside the door. Great for dog walking...clean, safe, trash cans and benches. Only hotel issue was the internet never came in. Desk said it was spotty on the top floor (our floor). It was non-existent. Would still stay here again but only in a room where I for-sure had internet. I wanted to do genealogy (one reason we came to the area) and I could not access my data.
