The whole experience here was awful. The staff was extremely rude. The rooms were nasty dirty. The linens, bed a room smelled like cigarettes. There is no doggie area. Just an awful place. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

The area is right on the main drag. There is no "pet" area for your dog to go, so you have to walk around the neighborhood and use people's yards. The hotel is dated, the walls are very thin and although they state a "very strict noise policy after 10:00 pm" the people above us partied all night and were a nuisance. The hotel can't tell what kind of people they will get, but try and keep the noise down.

Place is kind of sketchy and there is no grassy area to walk dogs had to go across the street to the auto parts store to find a grassy area. Room was clean and big, but noisy neighbors..

Pros- the bed was comfy.
We rolled in too late to make an alternate plan, so we stayed put.
Cons-
1- There dead bugs in the shower, which had a mildewy curtain.
2- There was a note from the management that the “rat and animal infestation” was not their fault, but the fault of guests’ trash, and a reminder that this is not an apartment building. (?!)
3- The long term “guests” made the whole place feel like our car was going to be broken into. (It wasn’t, but the place was sketchy.)
4- It was freezing out and the baseboard heater was not working well. We slept in our hats and coats.
Basically, the Brookings Inn Resort was neither an inn nor a resort.

Stayed here 3 nights . Therapy who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. The dogs were welcome and had nice roads to walk them around. The rooms were clean and pretty large . Dogs were happy!
