Reviews
Visitors generally found La Quinta by Wyndham Grants Pass to be a clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly hotel with welcoming staff. Some noted the location was convenient but had concerns about homeless individuals in the area.

We had no problems. Nice, quiet hotel.
- RachelJan 1, 2024Comfortable and well priced
We often stay here as our half way-ish point on our trips back and forth from California to Portland. Favorite features include: 24/7 access to the hot tub and pool. Full breakfast with waffles and eggs in the morning. And no-smoking on the premises. Price is really reasonable too especially considering there are no added/hidden fees for bringing your pup, On our most recent trip, we arrived late on New Year’s Eve with our toddler and border collie, about 20 min before midnight. When we got to our room unfortunately there was a sign on the door that said it was being deodorized and not to enter. My husband went to speak with the front desk and they were very apologetic and upgraded us to an “executive parlor” room which was nice and roomy and comfortable. They also gave us a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine at midnight to celebrate. Will definitely keep returning.
- SylviaApr 1, 2023Warm welcome
The staff made us feel welcome and had cookies waiting, both human and puppy kind. The room was clean and comfortable. A good spot to stay.
- DougDec 11, 2022Nice place to stay with your dogs
This place is very dog friendly. There are multiple waste bag stations outside around the property. There are a few tables in the entryway where your pet can be with you while you eat breakfast. The place is clean and comfortable. And for the humans, fresh baked cookies are served at 7:00 pm.
- JONISep 15, 2022Unsafe location
Although the room was okay the element was terrible! We did not feel safe from time to time. Coming and going to our room we were always afraid of the homeless people in the parking lot. It appears that the staff allow the homeless to come into the rooms to shower, etc. We were near the side entry and one guy was camped out there when we returned from dinner. He followed us up to our car and we felt cornered and had to tell him to go away. We saw the homeless people (several) coming and going with their clothing and going into the room across from us then leaving with wet hair back to their broken down cars and RV’s! Very concerning! The staff tried to make us feel bad for mentioning it at the front desk.
- ArtJul 20, 2022Best Check-In Experience Ever
Oscar checked us in. He was uber helpful, pleasant, and had great recommendations. This was the best check-in experience I've ever had. Plus, it was hot outside but the room was reasonably cool when we got in, plus spacious and clean. 5 bones for sure.
- JulieMay 14, 2022Immaculate rooms, great staff!
Our room was very clean when we checked in, of course our pup did shed a little bit like all Weims do but staff was incredibly hospitable. Just be sure to lock your cars at all times as there were some "campsites" nearby. We had no issues but (after nearly three decades in public safety) my situational awareness is fine tuned to be alert for such things.
- LisaApr 16, 2022Nice place to rest
It was very dog friendly, quiet and a good night’s rest
- LisaMar 14, 2022Recommend!
The room was nice and clean. Granted, the potty area is not much, but if you just walk down the driveway, there is a long strip of grass that my dogs found perfectly acceptable. Staff was friendly and breakfast was yummy. We will stay here every time we come through with our dogs.
- ÉlanNov 20, 2021Not recommended
Staff friendly & felt very welcomed with our dog. Run down, dirty looking, expensive for a place like that. Franchisee or management obviously doesn’t care at all. Arrived moved rooms as fridge not working and bad smell. Front desk super quick to change our room. Next room paper thin rooms and persons in neighbouring room were playing music & yelling from 3:00am until 5:40am. Front desk wasn’t able to do anything to help. Carpets were very dirty, Though sheets were clean. bathroom clean except very run down bed frame was torn and warped. Nice they had tables to sit at in lobby so pet to be with you while having a bite to eat and a coffee. Just a place not to stay!
- SandraNov 8, 2021Wonderful place to stay!
Squeaky clean and comfortable room. Welcoming staff, great amenities. Convenient to the freeway but not noisy. I highly recommend this La Quinta for travelers with pets.
- MichaelFeb 23, 2021Very clean room, friendly staff and yummy cookies!
I was greeted promptly by a very friendly agent and had my key in a matter of minutes. The room was very clean and had all I needed to settle in. My dog didn't like the elevator instead he preferred the stairway which was close by.
- JudyOct 23, 2020Great staff!
Everyone we encountered was very friendly and accommodating.
- NicoleOct 19, 2020Quiet, clean and great customer service
This was the first stop on our trip and what a pleasant surprise!! We were leery of the noise level with the hotel right next to I-5 but it was no issue at all even with a highway facing room. The room was clean, bed was comfy and my Sadie girl was greeted by front desk staff, maintenance and cleaning staff with friendly pats and a biscuit. This will be our go to when heading north!!
- LauraAug 14, 2020Dog friendly but no so Human friendly
Made reservation over the phone in advance due to the need to make sure that I could get a pet friendly room that was also wheelchair accesible. Arrived at 4:25pm and was told room wouldn't be ready for another hour to hour and a half. When I said the confirmation email had said "check in: 3pm check out: 12 noon" (direct quote), I was told that 3pm is just a suggestion that check in COULD be as early as 3pm, but it's not guaranteed. Because it was 90 degrees out and I was limited to where I could go with my dog, I sat in the wheelchair in the lobby with my beagle until room was ready (a little less than an hour later).
The wheelchair accessible room was prety non-accessible. There were grab bars in the shower, but it was not roll in, nor was there any sort of shower seat, so I couldn't take a shower. It was a 2 queen bed room (I didn't request 2 beds, that's just what they gave me) and the beds were so close together that I couldn't get between them with my chair. That meant I couldn't answer the phone when the front desk called my room, I couldn't turn on the bedside light, and I couldn't check that the alarm clock was turned off, so I was awakened by said alarm clock at 6am.
When I went to take my dog out , myself and my beagle pretty much got a contact high from the smell of weed in this "non-smoking" hotel. I mentioned it to an employee that walked down the hall at the same time. She apologized, but when we went back out a couple of hours later, it still smelled just as bad.
It is frustrating to pay the highest rate of any pet friendly hotel in this town to make sure I can stay at a reputable place and then not be able to have the most basic of accessibility. Also, paying same full rate even though no breakfast is offered due to Covid seems a bit of a rip off as well.
- LindaMar 3, 2020No treats
Nice room and people
- LorynJan 29, 2020Great hotel
Wonderful welcoming staff large rooms very clean very pet friendly simply the best
- KarinOct 13, 2019So so hotel
There was a gravel area on on side if the hotel and a grass strip behind rage hotel on a busy road for dogs to do their business. Not a good setup.
- GloriaOct 8, 2019Good place to take your dog
My male Golden Retriever and I stayed at this hotel the night of Friday, October 4. Without asking for it, I was upgraded to a suite, which is a kitchen in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. The suite was very roomy, clean, and in excellent condition. The front desk employee was friendly and helpful. There is plenty of area to walk your dog around the edge of the parking lot and on the sidewalk.
There are 2 things that keep this review from being a "5": (1) the clomping elephant in the room above me, and (2) a sub-par free breakfast. The bagel was soggy and crushed, the C Ration scrambled eggs were cold, and the fresh fruit wasn't ripe. The coffee was fine. - JudithSep 24, 2019Tons of dogs!
Very dog-friendly hotel, so we and our chocolate Lab felt right at home. Room was well-appointed and clean. Furniture had some nicks and scratches, but I guess that made it feel more dog-friendly. The breakfast was good and included scrambled eggs and sausage as well as waffles and usual fare (for the humans).
- AnnDec 3, 2018Nice enough..not a great value
I made the reservation on the fly as we approached Grant’s Pass in the evening. I based my hasty decision on the ‘5 bone review’ and regretted that I didn’t look around more. The description says ‘no pet fee’ but we paid $109.00 for a room that would normally be in the $85 range..so I believe the the pet fee was imbedded in the price. Learned my lesson on that one- I will book online with Best Western with a pet fee and probably get a better value. Room was fine but ‘tired-looking’ and sparsely furnished perhaps for people who have big dogs (we have a 12# chihuahua mix). Staff was nice, there was a nice sitting area in lobby, and the breakfast was good, but felt we paid too much.
