  All the happy feelings

  All rooms have great ocean views, and there's direct beach access. There's a dog area with bags. People were very nice and welcoming. Rooms clean and spacious, seem recently renovated. Shower and tub lack privacy if that's important for your stay. Clean, great bed.

  Great location

  We had a one bedroom suite overlooking the beach which was perfect with the dog. We were on the first floor and they gave us treats at check-in. The room has both air conditioning and a fire place depending on your needs. We loved it!

  Great location by beach

  A really nice and good-sized room with balcony, overlooking the beach and the ocean. We got a room with a king bed, and the room included a gas fireplace, which is a nice touch. When checking in, the desk staff handed us a bag containing some dog treats and a poop bag, and mentioned that they're pet people themselves so you don't feel like it's an imposition that you're traveling with a pet. There's a poop bag station adjacent to the main building but not at the secondary building where our room was located so at first we were walking around looking for where to dispose of a bag. I asked about it and they said that they're aware of it and working to get a second station installed. The (public) beach doesn't have any trash receptacles so it was important to know where to dump bags to be considerate.

  Beachfront stay

  Perfect location. Enclosed dog park on site that is very clean. All rooms have an ocean view. We loved it. Beach is dog friendly

  Stunning room and ocean view

  With a beautiful room and location on the beach, this resort was a much better place and price than other more expensive hotels we stayed in on this trip. Easy outdoor access for the dog and right on the beach. We would stay here again!

  Fantastic location

  The first floor room was incredible with ocean views and a great layout— we had a king suite which was reasonably priced. Being right on the beach is a bonus for travelling with dogs. We have two golden retrievers so they need lots of walks and room to run. Very comfortable. Nice staff.

  Super dog friendly under new owners!

  This hotel is now a part of the Ascend Hotel Collection (not best western). They are obviously in the middle of an upgrade and remodel in both the rooms and the property with lots of cool features being added. When we were there last weekend we saw new signage around the property pointing you to, among other things, Dog Park. It looked like it was still being constructed but that was something we'd never seen before! Looks like it'll probably be a small off leash, fenced in play spot for pups when it's done.

  The hotel itself is nice with big spacious rooms and nice bathrooms plus many rooms have a large spa bathtub in the room, though it doesn't seem like any of those rooms are pet friendly, sadly.

  The real winner here are the amazing views from each and every balcony/patio. With the hotel right on the beach you can people watch in the morning while you drink your Kurig coffee and eat a free hot breakfast from the lobby (til 10am). There is also daily salmon chowder (that the people at the front desk were really excited about) and fresh cookies.

  There's beach access right on the property that the dogs loved because then they got to go play like 10 times a day. There's also an outdoor hot tub and heated pool, though, since you can't leave your dogs in the room for any amount of time (which is pretty normal) and you can't bring them to the pool area, you'll either be swimming alone instead of with your partner or missing out on the hot tub altogether (since you can't get one in your dog friendly room either).

  The hotel is walkable to a whole host of little restaurants, parks, and watering holes if you don't want to pack up the pack.
