Lots of outdoor space, but ground is covered in large rocks which made neither of my dogs want to lay down.

Beautiful park but every inch is covered in duck/geese poop.
Plenty of trails and places to walk.
Zero poop bags so bring your own.

Plenty of space to run. No issues finding it using Google maps. Plenty of poop bags at the fenced off area.

Big area but very crowded. Mainly little dogs. Poop bags available.

As far as dog friendly goes, it's good. Beachfront, balconies with railings, and plenty of grass and walking areas. As far as humans go, the hotel is VERY dated (circa 1970's) and mattresses are hard as rock.

Closed as of 12/2023

There is an off leash beach area for dogs. It is small. Lots of dogs running around with owners not paying attention to them. Typical dog park situation. There’s no trails or other dog area attractions. You can walk them on the sidewalk along the marina - but it’s not any more exciting than any other part of town.

Water front access is a loooooonnnngggg walk/hike from any parking. Regardless, plenty of trails - both paved and not.
Signage here is awful. Zero signs to direct you to a parking lot (we only found one, near the playground area).

Keep your dog leashed. Plenty of grassy space and waterfront swimming opportunities

plenty of outdoor heated and covered space. bring your own bowl to keep pup hydrated

It is surrounded by grass. Super kind staff. Plenty of poop bags. Quiet location. Room service available. Restaurant and full bar on site. We loved it!

Perfect location. Enclosed dog park on site that is very clean. All rooms have an ocean view. We loved it. Beach is dog friendly

So much space here - tons of grass. It was very expensive but we were happy with the location. Our room didn’t have AC, so make sure to ask for that if you’ll need it.

Room was very dirty - we had to Lysol everything. There is zero grass here. They have about 20 flower bed areas with “no pets” signs stuck in them. Pet relief area is a joke, covered in weeds and fox tails. Do your research on fox tails - they are deadly if ingested by your pet. Would never stay here again.

Comfortable beds. everything was clean. Tons of grass around the property and beautiful walkway along the river.

dogs allowed inside and out. great food, beer and service

it did the trick to tire our lab out but it’s not a great dog beach. so many rocks (easy for Fido to twist their ankle) and so much seaweed on the shore.

great views, but not a great place to walk with dogs. many cliffs, and thousands of prairie dogs to drive your dog nuts. it was very crowded and people seemed annoyed we had dogs with us. zero garbage cans

The motel itself was fine. Beds were very uncomfortable for us and walls thin. It is very dog friendly but please do your research about fox tails if you’re not familiar. They can be deadly to dogs if inhaled, and this area is drowning in them. It’s not the hotel's fault but I want to educate dog owners about the dangers of them and how common they really are.

lots of space

As others mentioned, the area is terrible. Lots of homeless. Hotel is nice and we appreciate no dog fee, but why do all these Kimptons have zero grass areas?!

good space, water available inside (bring your own bowl)

tons of space for Fido to run

There used to be a dog relief area on the 9th floor. It closed in April 2023. You can still take your dog up there but it’s just tile now. There is no grass within a 4 block radius. That’s the only bummer. Both of our dogs figured out how to pee on concrete - but wouldn’t poop until we found grass on the other side of Petco park (5-6 blocks away). Otherwise hotel is very dog friendly and nice to stay at.

heaters and tented patio for winter!

Our big dogs were allowed on the patio, but we were not offered water for them. the food is okay, they’re more of a bar than a restaurant.

Not much to it. fenced in. poop bags. water. rocky/sandy ground. we found a few pieces of broken glass, so be careful

The nicest owners we’ve encountered. They provide welcome treats for humans and dogs, extra towels for paws or puppy showers, poop bags, and a fenced-in area in case you need to take Fido out at 4am. Would happily stay here again. They’re wonderful.

All their food is fresh and delicious. Dog friendly outdoor patio

So much space to run. Be ready for your dog to jump in to the fast moving river.
lots of dogs. no water for them, or bowls, so bring your own. small beer list.

you have to walk thru the restaurant with your dog to get to their enclosed patio. they did not offer or bring us any water. lots of ants on the patio biting at dogs paws

they didn’t bring us any water. lots of dogs there tho. service was slow

lots of areas to roam. enclosed area there too, but mainly open

SUCH dog friendly staff and patrons. it’s upstairs and indoors. they have pool and shuffle board, plus dog toys and water. beer is delicious. 10 stars

handful of homeless people here. plenty of paved paths. there is a dog park but we didn’t stay long due to every other dog owner being on their phone instead of watching their dog

there is water here for dogs. lots of piles of dog poop. no shade

patio is nice a big. brought water out for the dogs

Dog friendly private cabins right on the water.

drive on the beach, dogs can run free, super cool and unique art displays both in the water and on the beach

open 10a-6p daily

huge dog friendly patio. staff was so welcoming and kind

pergola over the patio in most parts, super accommodating to dogs. typical bar food and beer.

I would not consider this a hike. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy, but still plenty of room for them

This is located in a busy downtown area, with zero grass options within three blocks. Staff didn’t acknowledge dogs at all, nor did they have any info about where to take my dogs to pee. Also, the stairs are “closed” so if your pup doesn’t like long elevator rides, this isn’t the place for you.

love the fake grass covering on the second floor patio. great place to watch the sunset. dogs were all chill

Dogs LOVED the river. so thankful for this app that pointed us to this spot. very busy hiking trails, lots of dogs. Gorgeous scenery

Nicest staff ever - so many dogs here. Loved the beer and food truck.

Very appreciative of the no pet fee on our two big dogs. Plenty of poop bags and places to walk them around. Beds are uncomfortable though.

all enclosed- well maintained. lake still closed. lots of fresh water on site

The whole park is overrun with homeless people. The dog park is open but the rest of the park is closed. Homeless camps in the parking lot.

Hotel was quiet despite being full. Plenty of grass around property. Bring your own poop bags.

shaded dog friendly patio!

$50 fee was worth it. beautiful hotel and great location. plenty of grass
good beer too!

Clean rooms and dog friendly, $10 per dog

Great service, good beer, dog friendly (on outdoor patio)!

Wood chips and weeds. Guess it’s typical for NYC

Visiting from the Midwest, where dog parks there are similar in color, we were very impressed. Our dogs are not used to being off leash in an unfenced area, so we were nervous. They did great, there are SO many dogs there before 9am when they’re all allowed to be off leash. Loved the pond too.

We arrived later than we hoped to, it was already dark out, but we had the beach to ourselves. Dogs went nuts running all over the place. No clue on the quality of sand or surrounding areas as we couldn’t see any of them. Great if you’re traveling between NYC and Boston

Very kind to dogs and humans. Delicious margaritas
