    Minimal but fine

One chair in a room for two but no negatives that would prevent staying again. Clean and really close to the University.

    Great Stay!

They have large grassy areas for your pup to enjoy. Good location and reasonable pet fees.

It was a perfect location for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

    Pet fees added

I was extremely disappointed to discover I had to pay an additional $40 for pet fees on top of what I already paid through BringFido. I thought the price I paid through BringFido was the price. When I questioned it, they said the price I paid didn't include the pet fee. The hotel was mediocre. Parking is is awkward. They did have nice grounds and an area to walk the dogs. But, if I knew I was paying over $200 to spend the night in a hotel, I would've picked something closer to the highway.

    Basement room

I understand putting dogs on the ground floor for easy access to outdoors, however this room appeared to be in the basement. And while it was comfortable it felt a little concerning if something had happened whether we could get out or not.

    Inconvenient and overpriced

First of all, the building is a split level affair, with no elevator. There is only one cart for the entire building, which has two bad wheels, and is left in the upper level. I was put in a room downstairs at the end of 3and1/2 ft wide hallway leading to the lower level parking lot. It was either making four trips lugging stuff to the room, or walk up to the upper level, get the cart, walk it down the bumpy old driveway, across the parking lot and over a curb to my car. The room was tiny, with low ceilings, smelled musty. Had stains on the carpet, the office chair had a rip in the seat back, and the window was a ceiling high basement window. All this and more for $172.00 including the pet fee. I’ve stayed in Motel 6’s that were a lot better than that for half that amount, and that’s a low bar. Corporate is responsible for all of my complaints and is not listening to the pleas of their employees at this location who are on the receiving end of unhappy customers. The supervisor in charge did deduct $50.00 from my bill for my inconvenience.

Not your typical interstate hotel: A cut above

We only came because: the location was about right for our 2-day car journey, the per-dog price was reasonable, and, of course: the reviews were really promising. When we arrived, we had second thoughts based on the layout of the property and its proximity to light industry. Aside from windows in the portico that really needed a good wipe down, we were greeted by just the loveliest clerk ever. Ezra was upbeat, accommodating and informative about the property and the area. We were given a great recommendation for dinner nearby (it's a cute downtown, a short drive away). The first room we were given had a faint smell of cig smoke, and pulling down the comforter revealed many short hairs (that we assumed were animal hairs). The phone in that room was disconnected so I called Ezra from my cell to report my findings and he did not delay for a moment's time before coming over with keys to a new room. The second room was absent any problems at all. The beds were very comfortable, the walls seemed thick (this is not your typical pop-up construction, as seen in most major chains by the road). We slept better than usual and the shower was just right. Breakfast was fine. Nothing to write home about, but it sure seemed more homemade than the mass-produced stuff at every Hampton Inn. The outside surround was well landscaped and fun for the dog on a walk. Five minutes by car from the expressway made for a night's sleep with no road noise. We were more satisfied than usual, and we'll be back.

    Filthy!

I pulled down the cover to get into bed and discovered that the sheets had not been changed from the previous guys AND there were several pieces of black unidentifiable material between the flat and fitted sheets. Completely unacceptable. The staff was friendly and apologized. Good spaces for taking my dog out to relieve himself. This is why Im giving two bones instead of one.

    not handicapped accessible

i booked two rooms 3 months in advance & upon check in was offered a room on the first & third floors but my mother has difficulty with stairs. then we were offered two rooms next to each other in the conference center (detached building). we took those rooms but after we drove down there, i noticed the door was ajar. i went up a long staircase to find two guest room doors ajar en route to our rooms. every hair stood up on my neck & i ran out of there. it was well after dark & it just didnt feel right. we went back to the front desk & was offered the hot tub room for more money & the other room on another floor. i looked on bringfido & there was another hotel down the road. the best western manager did coordinate a refund which i greatly appreciated!!! the front desk remained pleasant & understanding the whole time which i appreciated as well. fyi the new hotel down the road was not any better!! skip this town!!

    Genuinely pet friendly

I've stayed here twice while traveling along the I80 - which is praise in itself, since I’ve had so many bad experiences with my 80+ pound boy traveling this route over the years. It’s a quiet, very clean, well appointed, and friendly hotel that seems to genuinely enjoy its animal guests. Yes, as one reviewer noted, there is no elevator for the second floor, but I’ve never found that to be a problem
