I asked for a mobility room through the app. Second time, they asked, but did you call and make sure it was available? I told them yes. Said they “reassigned“ the room. Not even a sorry. I got a head tilt and a "I don’t know." The hotel is nice, maybe needs a little better cleaning between clients. My dog goes crazy smelling the previous client. Just makes me sad that I may not stay there again because they can’t support my physical needs.

Our room was on the second floor, and it was very nice, clean, and everything worked as it should. The staff was nice and welcomed us and Sugar, our medium sized (50 lb) lab mix.

Our Nala has anxiety and at this location the room was very quiet. The outside road noise was minimal but still present, however it did not frighten her. We had originally booked for 1 night but added another as it was a great hotel.

We were only passing through so stayed 1 night in room 104 which is close to the pet relief area. There are 5/6 rooms on that end of the hotel opposite the highway (no road noise at all). The property itself looks fairly new. There’s a very large social/bar/breakfast area at the entrance. Hot breakfast today included egg & cheese scramble, hash browns, plus sausage links and biscuits and gravy! Not to mention the waffle maker and the frosted mini wheats that I enjoyed. It’s a very clean, modern facility on the east side of Des Moines. Bonus: Casino/Racetrack across the street!

I have made several trips cross country with two Golden Retrievers. La Quinta in Altoona (Des Moines) was one of the absolute best experiences. Great staff, great rooms, and lots of outdoor space for dog walking.

It was a very bright place with comfortable beds. A good steak place within walking distance. My only negative was the breakfast which was subpar. Not a big deal if you are not much of a breakfast person. And it was rough getting a hot cup of coffee. The urns were always empty and the coffee lukewarm. Would stay there again but would get my morning fix somewhere else.

While moving cross country, we intentionally stay at La Quinta for their pet policy. Booking through BringFido, they were ready for me and my pets with a first floor room, near a door to the designated pet relief area. Additionally there is a wide open field across the street that we and other pet families took advantage of. Room was clean and well maintained without carpeting which is a relief when traveling with animals. Breakfast was fantastic, one of the better spreads I have had from included breakfasts. Bar in lobby open late, and pool, while small was clean and did not smell of chorine. Fitness center exceeded expectations well. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

Very nice room especially for the price! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Plenty of green space for walking dogs and clean up station provided.

It's a fairly typical La Quinta. At first I was concerned because it seemed away from everything but just drive a couple of blocks down and there's a cluster of restaurants for food. Pet area was easy to access. No carpet in the rooms, always a plus as it just seems like it will be cleaner after who knows how many pets and people may have stayed there. Pretty quiet. Comfy bed. We'd stay here again if in the area in the future.

Relatively new facility with great amenities. Acres of adjacent green space just south of the building afford ample opportunity for your dog to really stretch it's legs. The rooms are very nice. Ours had a real shower stall instead of the usual bath tub/plastic shower curtain unit.

This is a newly built hotel. Our room was in a little area at the end of the hall near the side door, where there was a really nice grassy area for pets. The area was separated from the rest of the hotel by a door and only about 5 rooms in that section. I'm certain it was built with pets in mind! The room was very comfortable and they had a great breakfast. Wanda had treats for our dog when we arrived which was a nice touch. Only thing missing in the hotel was a hot tub.

Clean room, lobby and grounds with plenty of green space around the hotel to walk the dogs. Friendly staff and good breakfast as well. Right near amusement park and casino. Would definitely stay again.

Great quiet night for dogs. Some barking in other rooms but overall good. Kids however were disappointed as pool was closed and none of the staff could tell us why or give us an update.
