Reviews
- JoyceJun. 29, 2022Not very enjoyable.
They were renovating the hotel and tearing off wallpaper and ripping up carpeting; practically got thrown out of the hotel when someone knocked on our door a 9am and asked when we were leaving. They should have let everyone know that this was going to be going on as it is very stressful to dogs hearing strange voices yelling and pounding and ripping. I am really hoping our next reservation at the Daytona Oceanfront Hilton is better and that we have the room we requested.
- JohnMar. 23, 2022Not so great
This place is an absolute filthy dump. Housekeeping service is only on request and must be ordered before 8 AM each morning. I especially enjoyed the grout dust all through the bathroom, the masking tape on the mirror, the light fixtures, and the heat vent that spewed out black dust all night long over the bed. There was enough dust on the window sill to plant winter wheat. Room furnishings are marginal and there is no water pressure in the sinks. Language barrier made it very difficult to communicate with staff, who were very cooperative when able to communicate. Other than that, it was OK, but not Marriott standards. I have stayed here in the past and it was top of the line. Great location.
- PaulFeb. 10, 2022Fun location
If you do not mind the 10 minute drive to the attractions, it is a great place. As I do not it was fine. Easy parking for a large vehicle. Lots of area to walk dogs, though by the hotel itself people do not clean up well. Marina was fun. Clean. Friendly staff. Adequate breakfast.
- JasonJun. 27, 2021Very pet friendly
Our first hotel stay with our two Labs couldn’t have gone better. Plenty of room for our dogs in our suite and the dog area next to the hotel had ample space for the dogs to do their business. The dogs were even welcome on the pool deck (in a fenced-in area with tables and chairs) so we could watch our kids swim while our furry kids were with us.
- JohnMar. 6, 2021Super location close to downtown
Just across the Ashley River from downtown and very pet friendly. Great brief stay visiting family
- MarkFeb. 26, 2021Very small suite for a Residence Inn
Overall very good stay. Very dog friendly. There is a HUGE grass lot next to the hotel. I was surprised at how small the suite was. We have stayed at other Residence Inns and the rooms are typically much larger.
- StephanieJan. 12, 2021Dog friendly
The hotel itself isn't really by anything within walking distance which is unfortunate. There is a nice open area right next to the hotel to be able to let your dog do their business. There were 2 dog waste stations, one in the back parking lot and one by the field. There's a private marina at the end of the street, but no sidewalk heading that way, and there is a sidewalk heading towards the main road, but it ends at the main road. There's no crosswalk to cross the street. Don't expect to stay here and be able to walk your dogs to go do things or even have a decent walk. You can absolutely still get in your car with your dogs and park somewhere else to walk your dogs like I did. I did appreciate having a nice sized outdoor balcony for some fresh air. I unfortunately had a smoker across the hall, so the door slammed constantly and kept my younger dog alert and more vocal than she would have been without the constant slamming doors. I always feel guilty having my dogs bark at a hotel. That's not the hotel's fault by any means though. I usually prefer to stay at Marriott Residence Inn because they do allow big dogs. I have 2 black labs, and it is sometimes difficult to find a hotel that allows two large dogs. Only reason for 4 stars is because of the location and lack of ease of walking my dogs anywhere.
- JohannaJan. 4, 2021Not the best
It was a little disappointing for a Marriott chain. Took forever to check in. Had to change rooms a few times because the first 2 didn’t have hot water (we let it run for a few mins to check). The 3rd room they put us in had hot water, but the room itself wasn’t in the best shape - stains and tears on carpet. Price is reasonable, but still a little disappointing considering this is a Marriott. We’ve stayed at Marriott hotels before, and this one just did not have Marriott quality.
- DaverineFeb. 21, 2020Great space
Stayed here for two nights on our trip from NH to FL. Very clean and quiet. Beds were comfy, nice breakfast buffet. Would definitely stay here again.
- LynetteJan. 7, 2020Fantastic Hotel, Very Dog-Friendly
We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and everyone was very welcoming to our dog. The location is excellent and very close to everything. There is a large pet-relief station right next to the hotel and they provide bags as well. We had a 2 bedroom suite which worked very well for us and our two teens, as well as our pooch. They provide a very good hot buffet breakfast every morning and you can leave your dog in the hotel room unattended which was great for going out to dinner. The room was very quiet and very clean. If you let the housekeeping staff know that you will be out for the day with your dog, they will come in and clean the room. Our room was cleaned every day we were there and all we had to do is let the staff know as we were leaving. Excellent hotel - would definitely stay here again.
- ClaibourneSep. 19, 2019I wanted to move in and stay!
The staff here was phenomenal - so helpful and friendly - every single staff member. We knew there would be breakfast every day, but did not know there would be dinner/wine/beer/ every evening. There was a shuttle to historic Charleston every day (every 1/2 hour all day to/from). My dog was comfortable and we were safe in a quiet clean room. What could be better?
