When we check in the Baymont Inn & Suites in Walterboro South Carolina, the front and sides of the hotel looked good. Lots of cars, clean parking lot. However, the pet section is clear around the back. It’s was very dingy looking. Upon getting out of our vehicle, there was trash and debris scattered everywhere. After 11 hours of traveling, we overlooked the mess. We took our dogs across the parking lot to the grass area. It was covered with dog poop all around. We carried them back to our room. We noticed lawn chairs outside a few room doors. One had a broken grill leaning on the wall . The room was ok ?
The towels were clean but well stained. The sheets were clean but very wrinkled and lots of stains. The floor felt dirty so we had to wear our shoes when not in bed. The sink had many large cracks in it and the plug was broken off. The tub drain was the same.
You could hear bigger sounding dogs barking when inside our room. Of course that made our little yorkies bark too. You could hear people walking and talking outside till late in the night. Therefore we did not get much sleep. About 4 am we could hear noises outside by our truck. When my husband looked out the window there was a woman folding clothes and stacking on her car. She had several plastic tubs and a tub full of laundry products. We showered and left by 5:30 am. She was still sorting and folding clothes. I believe people were living in these rooms. It was one of the worst nights possible. I will NEVER stay at a Baymont again. I have trusted BringFido to help find pet friendly hotels. Tub faucets falling off water running all night, not able to take a shower no hot water, tub filthy, only 3 pillows for king bed and they were lumpy, local tv channels not included in cost of room so no Sunday football games! It was dog friendly with a large courtyard of green space and mini fridge and A/C were working so they earned one bone rating! We were just too exhausted from driving all day and desperate for a room!! Should’ve kept driving!
