  Problem with another guest

  A guest left his dog in the room unattended, which is clearly against their rules. The dog barked constantly from 8:30-11:30. I felt so bad for the dog as well as the front desk person. She called the dog owner and left many messages as did the general manager. The front desk person was getting so many complaints and actually had to move several guests to different rooms.

  Convenient Location

  We got a King Suite that had a huge amount of space for us and our two dogs. Our Dutch Shepherd certainly thought the couch was comfy! An enormous amount of grass with empty lots nearby to throw a ball. Convenient to many restaurants as well. The only ding I had was for the aged rooms. The first thing I noticed walking into the room was peeling wall paper and an exterior door that didn’t deadbolt correctly.

  Other than that, it was clean, the front desk girl friendly, and breakfast was the typical waffle maker, powdered eggs, sausage, coffee, etc. I actually appreciated the first floor rooms being accessible both from an internal hall and an external door so we could back our truck up to the door. Would stay there again, as it was perfect for an overnight stay on a cross-country drive.

  Convenient location

  Located conveniently near restaurants with outdoor dining. Facility was a bit run down. Bed was comfortable. Dog exercise area needs pet cleanup baggies and drop kiosk. All pet friendly hotels need these to “encourage clean up.” Front desk not very friendly.

  Decent location

  The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly enough. The room needed some repairs in the bathroom - floor tiles were cracked and pulling away from the floor.

  I’d definitely give this place “five bones” if it weren’t for the amount of poop in the grassy pet area. It was pretty bad even with all of the snow. But besides that, the hotel was clean, quiet, and cozy!

  Large open areas all around the hotel. Enough to let the dogs go for a run! Good breakfast. Nice rooms.

  Just no, keep driving

  Worst hotel over a month long trip. It was loud, staff slamming the maintenance closet behind our room multiple times during the night. The air conditioner case fell apart and the unit made a screeching sound every four minutes all night and the shower was so gross and obviously had not been cleaned recently. The hotel is outdated but if it were clean and operational, age could be overlooked. We were also on the third floor and far away from stairwells, but we booked last minute so probably our fault. I would stay almost anywhere else though.

  Very dog friendly but if you want a first-floor room which is very dog convenient it costs an extra $100.00. Always a hassle having a second-floor room.

  Lots of open space nearby

  Easy access off I-90. Plenty of vacant green space adjoining the hotel for our dog to walk. Our bed was comfortable. Basic No-Frills hotel with friendly staff, CLEAN but worn.

  Customer Service is Bad

  Don't ever double book by mistake. They will not pay it back. Most especially, the GM has the worst customer service skills. She will hang up in you and will not help you get your money back.

  Wouldn’t stay here again

  We found a bed bug on one of the pillows. They moved us to another room. That one had the wires on the smoke detector taped with no cover on it. We had an outside door also which was nice with the dog but our keys didn’t work for it. There was a storm the night before but no one bothered to sweep up the place. Sad. Bed was ok. Pillows sucked.

  Unfortunately, not great

  Our dog was allowed in, but our stay wasn’t great. I booked a room with an outside door on the main level, but we didn’t get that. The exterior doors didn’t lock. It was incredibly hot inside (50 degrees outside) and the air conditioner didn’t cool it. I took my 4 YO to the indoor pool and it was ice cold. It put a roof over our heads, but it wasn’t a great stay, unfortunately.

  Clean quiet hotel with friendly staff. Easy in and out for our two dogs with plenty of grass for them to do their business.

  Great Place For Doggos

  The Kelly Inn was well set up for people with pets. The rooms had an outside door to walk pets and a inside door to access inside pool, breakfast room and front lobby. Loved the rustic interior and river rock fireplace. Plenty of grass to walk pups. Quiet location.

  Great Stay

  The hotel was perfect for our one night stay. Big and spacious room, good breakfast options, right off the freeway and close to food options. Bed was pretty comfortable. Only reason for the 4 rating is that it was a bit dirtier than I would have preferred, but completely understand with the current labor shortages going on. I would definitely stay there again if we pass through Mitchell!

  Fantastic Mitchell hotel

  The Kelly Inn was a terrific pick. Very reasonable price, easy to find. Friendly reception. The hotel has a wooden, lodge look -- adorned with carved bears. The suite is sweet. Big bed, tv, microwave, sofa, coffee table... Nice location. Across the street is a pond/open park -- great spot to walk with my husky. Nearby is El Columpio, a solid dinner choice. And, of course, easy driving access to the Corn Palace.. (Would definitely return!)

  Spacious and comfortable

  Somehow, we managed to book a business king room and when we arrived, they said that this was not supposed to be a pet room. But they let us have it anyway and it was huge and very comfortable (and our dog was a model citizen, so hopefully, they'll let others enjoy the same room). Nice fitness room and lovely lobby as well.

  However, I was very disappointed that the front desk staff were not wearing a mask. If you take the current situation seriously you may want to consider another hotel.

  Checked in at 4pm and my room wasn’t ready which was inconvenient, but not insurmountable. We had an exterior entrance as well as a hallway entrance so was able to park just outside our room. There was no mask order for the hotel and employees and guests didn’t wear masks, though a plexiglass shield was installed at the front desk. The room was clean and the grassy areas for my pup was easily accessible. The location of the hotel was convenient to the interstate and to eating establishments.

  Clean And Comfortable

  The front desk was very pleasant and helpful. We had to change hotels due to a previous place being “not acceptable” for man nor beast.
  Pool and breakfast were great . Rooms were clean and updated. Dogs areas all around the hotel. Landscaping was nice. Convenient to gas, food, shopping, and on/off hwy.
  Would defiantly recommend to even a picky overnighter.

  Nice, quiet hotel

  Clean, attractive hotel with friendly, responsive staff. We had a ground floor room with an interior & exterior door, which was very convenient for our pet. Hotel has a lovely swimming pool & hot tub. Breakfast was nothing special, but adequate. Our toilet did have issue just as we were leaving, but the staff was extremely responsive. Location is not particularly convenient to dinning or other amenities, but close to the highway while being quite quiet. It was a nice place to stay on our journey west.

  Cabela’s across the street has an awesome sidewalk perfect for walking dogs. Breakfast area is kind of small, but you can bring food back to your room so not a problem.
