    Very welcoming

Large suite with room for XL dog crate; they put the dog rooms next to the stairs, and staff were very welcoming. Good breakfast and good hotel even without dog. A little on the pricey side for 1 night + dog fee, but weight limit is 80 lbs and it was 4th of July weekend, which may be why rate was a little in high side.

    Disappointed

Touch area with lot's of loud traffic near an expressway. Never felt safe. Little pooch green space. High price for the location and the amenities.

    Not worth the fee

The Staybridge suite was nice but not worth the $75 pet fee. We stayed at a Staybridge the night before that was just as nice , that had a $35 fee which was more reasonable & they even had doggie treats!! Won’t stay here again.

    Super clean!

Nice large room. Everything was clean. The bed was comfy. Breakfast was better than most. We did not eat the evening meal but it looked like one was available.

Dog friendly hotel but not the guests

(Reason for my review is to alert other dog owners as I do not want them to experience what we did. Note: we stayed at the Residence Inn at Marriott in Asheville for a few days before driving to Chattanooga. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed THAT hotel immensely. We will vacation there again in the future.)

We stayed at the Staybridge a few days ago and though it is dog friendly, many times the guests were not. There was a large family gathering for the weekend and my husband and two dogs (well socialized, canine good citizens and are used to staying in hotels for dog shows and big crowds).

The check in was flawless and the personnel were nice and welcoming. We brought our luggage in and decided to go out and explore the city with our dogs. We waited at the elevator and when the door opened, two women from the family gathering screamed when they saw our dogs and they slammed the elevator door on us. Though annoying, we ignored it and continued waiting for the elevator. The door opened, the two were still on there, one got out and the other slammed the door shut on us AGAIN. Note: we ended up waiting for several minutes until we could get on. The one who got off was visibly angry, upset and muttered loudly that dogs should not be allowed either in th elevator or the hotel. She stood away from us next to other family members who also were waiting for the elevator. One tried to convince her that the dogs were nice but she shook her head vehemently and continued looking daggers at us and our dogs.

Once we got to the lobby, many members of that family were in the path of us going towards the door. Many recoiled from us and our dogs and two kids also taunted our dogs by yelling “shoo! Shoo!. By the way, our dogs ignored them the entire time.

Came back a few hours later, and people continued made it point to show their displeasure at our dogs’ presence. Many of the family members were fine but we were harassed every single time we walked through the hotel to the door. Some people cursed when they saw our dogs.

This went on for 2 of our 3 day stay. I called the front desk to let them know what happened on our first night there. They were empathetic and tried to help but really in all honesty, they did not give us a good solution. They also told me that the group was told that it was a dog friendly hotel so they knew in advance.

I thought this might have been an isolated incidence but when I told my brother in law, whom we were visiting, what had happened, he told us that he had stayed there for several months with his Lab when he first moved to Chattanooga. Guests treated him the same way, harassing him because of his dog and loudly and obnoxiously called his Lab, devil dog. So no, it is not an isolated incidence. I know hotels cannot, to some degree, control their guests and their behavior, but it had been me, I would have spoken to the point of contact of the family reunion and politely but firmly told them that members of their party were being Inhospitable and rude to other guests. We will NEVER stay at this hotel ever again.
