Reviews
Travelers find The Park Vista - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - Gatlinburg to be a pet-friendly hotel with beautiful mountain views, comfortable accommodations, and friendly staff. Some guests note the hotel could use some updates, and the pet relief area is small, but overall the positive opinions overwhelmingly outweigh the negative.

- JenniferJun 15, 2024Amazing trip and accommodations
Staff was all wonderful, made us so very welcomed and loved every minute of our 85 lb pup Oliver. Oliver was definitely the star of the lobby and hotel grounds.
- KittySep 26, 2023Gorgeous Views
Worth every penny. Super nice linens. Very comfortable room with all the amenities. Everyone was very nice. A grassy area in back that our dog loved. A good restaurant on the premises.
- KellyJul 30, 2023Horrible
Had a problem with my reservation upon arrival. This place is extremely busy and overwhelmed. Hardly any area for pet relief station. Will never stay here again. I’d give it a 0 if I could. Wasted so much money here as well. Extremely disappointed. My dog even hated it.
- ChanelJul 29, 2023Dirty and outdated
With their outrageous pet fees and parking fees, we were set to pay over $1000 for 3 nights, which would have been completely fine had the cost matched the stay. As soon as we drove up we noticed how outdated and dingy the building itself looked. When we got to our room the furniture, wallpaper, etc matched the outside. Furniture was scratched and everything was covered in dust. Our balcony sliding doors were completely dirty.
The worst part was when our pup tried to get behind the nightstand. When we moved the nightstand to see what was there, we saw it was filled with trash and dirt. In addition to used dental floss, a used ear plug, a starburst, and trash, there was also an ibuprofen pill laying on the ground. Our chihuahua is small enough that he could have possibly gotten to the highly toxic (for dogs) pill without us moving the nightstand at all.
The only positive part of the stay was the view and the fact that they let us checkout easily and completely refunded us. Just very upset that the room was so dirty that there was a pill on the ground that could have potentially killed our dog.
- StevenJan 5, 2023Beautiful view!
Room was very nice and the Mountain View was lovely. We were only there one night and wished we were staying longer! Marina in the Firefly Lounge was wonderful. We had a drink and appetizer there, then decided to just stay there and eat dinner also. The grounds were nicely maintained for a walk before bedtime. Sofia enjoyed her stay as much as we did!
- ShaynaDec 16, 2022Love!
We loved our stay! The place was super nice and offered great views. The potty area was a little small, but not terrible. Our pup loved his stay!
- JohnSep 21, 2022Gatlinburg
Grounds great for walking dog. Hotel needs updating. Front desk not overly helpful. Location/views beautiful.
- ChristopherAug 15, 2022Not perfect but decent
Could have had drink glasses in the room , and they didnt clean the shower area the best but overall it was a nice room..oh and you likely will see a bear ,Teddy got to growl and bark at one ..The bears really do not seem interested in bothering anyone..just be alert we had one walk within 25 ft from us and didnt pay us any attention.
- JoylynnJun 29, 2022Very nice location & accommodations
Up on the hill top above Gatlinburg,15 stories! Easily seen while riding the chair lift! Our stay was perfect, there was a family reunion & military reunion and it didn’t affect our stay at all! Coco enjoyed the elevator!
- NoelJun 13, 2022Kindest Staff and Cozy Room
Everyone has been so sweet and accommodating. At check-in we got free dog treats and hot cookies. The room was so clean and cozy. I'm going to miss it.
- BridgetJun 13, 2022Great place
I love that they let you leave your pets in room when you go somewhere they can't go.
- TracyJun 5, 2022Pet friendly and comfortable
This hotel wasn’t perfect, but the pros far outweigh the cons. Pros: very pet friendly, incredible views, free cookies, pool, plenty of grass, friendly staff. Cons: the official pet walking area is small, close to a big drop, and bears nearby. However, there are plenty of wonderful grassy areas to walk your dog. Most of the dogs used those spaces instead. Also, the hotel doesn’t clean your room or clear trash every day, but if you ever need anything (towels, tissues, toilet paper, trash bags), they get it to you quickly.
- TasiaApr 4, 2022Great location
Loved everything but the fire alarm went off at 12:30. Also breakfast is not included with your stay.
- JeffMar 11, 2022Perfect
Great place for the family and our pup!!
- JimAug 19, 2021Friendly
Friendly staff. Loved our furry baby. Food was great even gave us extra gravy for Kili.
- SamanthaAug 15, 2021Great Place to Stay
My husband and I spent a weekend here with our dog. We enjoyed our stay! The room was very clean and had plenty of bath towels and washcloths for the two of us. Our room was right next to the elevators, but you couldn’t hear a thing outside the room. We checked out on a Sunday, which was a little hectic. The only thing that kept me from giving this location a five star rating was the elevator situation and the lack of luggage carts. There were only three working elevators for the entire hotel, including the service elevators. Other than that, we would stay here again!
- LeighanneJun 19, 2021Great hotel
Great hotel and very friendly staff! We enjoyed our stay and so did our two pups!
- Andrew, Jodie and MaggieJun 15, 2021Very pet friendly with a view
We stayed here for two nights in a Mountain View king room with our dog. The view is completely worth the extra $20! Large room. Comfy bed. Great shower. We ate from the restaurant both nights as you are able to sit on the patio with your pooch. Food was pretty good. Plenty of on-site parking. Staff are lovely. Very close to park entrance. Would definitely stay again.
- KevinMar 28, 2021Perfect location and excellent views!
We had a fantastic time at The Park Vista and our dog loved it too!
- CarolFeb 1, 2021Super Dog Friendly
This was a great place to stay. Our little Fozie loved it too!!!
- MonicaOct 6, 2020Nice location
The driveway was scary! We stayed in three places this weekend, and I would say not a one of them was extra cleaned to the point you felt they were sanitized above for the current situation. None of them were awful, but could have used that extra touch. The cookies where delicious and my dogs felt welcomed. Though the doggie area could be bigger and safer, there’s a huge drop off, one wrong step....
- ReynaAug 22, 2020Great stay
Awesome place to stay with the dog! Great views and nice room.
- JenniferJul 5, 2020Wonderful Place For Pets
We decided to bring our greyhound with us on our family trip to Gatlinburg. Being Hilton Diamond members we were excited to find a hotel that would accommodate our larger dog. The facility is very pet friendly. Several areas to walk your dogs. We did not spend too much time in the designated pet relief area as it is by the dumpsters where black bears frequent and small.
- LeesaJun 26, 2020Clean, Comfortable, Friendly
The hotel was clean and staff was helpful and friendly. The hallway on the 11th floor smelled of new carpet and the room smelled and looked very clean. The bad and pillows were very soft! The view from the hotel was gorgeous. There is an area off to the side of the hotel that over looks Gatlinburg. This sitting area was very pretty except for the garbage that was laying around from the other guests. 5 star rating for Park Vista.
- KristiMay 17, 2020Great place!
The hotel is beautiful, clean, and quiet. The property is on top of a mountain and has breathtaking views of the mountains and the Gatlinburg strip down below. Our room was spacious and very clean. From our private balcony we could see all of Gatlinburg. Our mini poodle was welcome and the property has lots of grassy areas for walking. We all enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back!
- KimNov 12, 2019Very Dog Friendly
Facility very dog friendly. Convenient to downtown gatlinburg. Comfy beds will stay again
- DeborahNov 6, 2019Great hotel
First time staying here and very happy we did. For the first time I was traveling with my dog and wanted to find a pet friendly place in Gatlinburg. A lot are in Pigeon Forge but didn’t want to stay there. I found Park Vista on BringFido.com and glad I did. It’s a very nice hotel and they were so nice to my dog. We got a pet bag when we checked in and every time we would go in or out the hotel an employee always stopped to say hello to him or comment how cute he was. The room didn’t smell like other dogs at all either, which was my concern. The room is a good size. Concrete wall on the patio and no chairs but walking outside and looking straight at the mountains is all you need. It’s a perfect height for it. The bathroom is VERY small. Sitting on the toilet my leg was nearly against the wall/door. It was very quiet also. We never heard the people walking the hallway or dogs barking. Only issue I had was someone had 2 dogs outside on the lawn and one wasn’t on the leash. Their big dog ran after my 10 pounder (who was on a leash) and I couldn’t pick him up any faster. Her reason was “not all dogs go potty on a leash”. Oh yes they do in this state of Tennessee sweetheart and it’s also on the rules that the front desk give you. I went and spoke to someone at the front desk about it and she was so nice. Very concerned that this dog could’ve either played or hurt my dog and said they would keep an eye out for this couple and speak to them to remind them the leash rules. I really appreciated that. I am sure we will be staying here again. Their pet fee went up a little since we booked months ago (was $25/night. Now $35/night) but they still honored the old price which was nice.
- PatrickOct 16, 2019Park Vista Hilton Hotel. Gatlinburg TN
We were given cookies and dog treats upon check in. Everyone at the hotel was great.
- JoneAug 26, 2019Very accommodating
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with pet friendly restaurant suggestions. My only complaint would be that the pet relief area is small. My dog is large so this may not be an issue for smaller pets.
- DianaJun 9, 2019Beautiful Hotel
We loved our stay, regretted it was only for one night since we were headed down to Florida. Very pet friendly.
- ResaMore than a year agoPet friendly PLUS
The staff is very informative and welcoming to pets. Great dog walk area and play yard. Super clean and excellent food. Dog fee is $25 per night, very reasonable.
- KristieMore than a year agoFun for the whole family!
We have stayed at this hotel a few times, and love it. We visited about a month ago and brought our sweet Pup with us. They are very pet friendly, and gave us a goodie bag with treats at check in. The customer service is excellent. The views are amazing! Our kiddos loved the pool!
