Friendliest Staff
Kimpton Brice Hotel an IHG HotelEveryone was so kind. Room service even came to help me catch a spider. I will say there were a few problems, but I think it's probably common in Savannah. The room was so humid it felt damp, and the thermostat was really fighting to work. Also there were many dead large roaches in the hotel hallway and the streets surrounding the hotel. None were in the room. So I think they do a good job spraying and cleaning. But still it gave me a big shock.
Noisy But Still Nice
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott CharlestonOf all the hotels we've stayed at, this was my dog's least favorite. She had trouble settling in the room. We came on a Friday night and it was noisy in the hall outside the room till 2am. And the noise started back up at 8am. I thought the room was comfortable. But many times in the night we both woke up. But it got the job done as a quick final stop on a long drive home from Savannah to Michigan
Greatest Pulled Pork of my Life
Moon River Brewing CompanyOh man. The pulled pork sandwich, with apple coleslaw, BBQ mustard, and pickles. It was so good. I had a tiki-inspired beer with it. I recommend not missing it. Also they gave my doggo endless ice water. We had plenty of alone space to chill. And many little kids gave my dog affection. It was a great great time
Scary but Fun!
Gatlinburg SkyParkI'm afraid of heights. So this was a confidence booster. My dog did great on the ski lift. And better than me on the bridge. We both had some trouble with the part of the bridge with a glass bottom floor. It's definitely worth doing. The staff were all very very nice. But I would not recommend bringing a dog who isn't confident with you, because the ski lift didn't have anything to keep a dog from getting out. Just be cautious.
Easy Gorgeous Peaceful Hike
Hocking Hills State ParkAbsolutely loved it here. It's magical to see. My dog was in heaven with all the new smells and things to climb on. Warning if you have a dog who loves agility and climbing, there's no guardrail and it can be slick from water and sand. So sometimes you gotta keep them close. Not a big deal though. This is a must see!
Kindest Staff and Cozy Room
The Park Vista - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - GatlinburgEveryone has been so sweet and accommodating. At check-in we got free dog treats and hot cookies. The room was so clean and cozy. I'm going to miss it.
Nice Hike but Long Drive
Red River GorgeIt was a long confusing drive down winding roads to get to the Sky Bridge trail. Just from the drive, I don't know if I'd return. But if you like a good quality hiking path. This one's for you. The waterfall at the end was very cute. And the other people and dogs there were welcoming. It was a little pretty oasis at the end of a hard hike. But my dog absolutely loved all of it. The swimming and the hike.
