The Hu is in need of a refresh. Our suite was spacious enough, but didn't seem clean. The hotel doesn't have a bar or full restaurant.

Before I booked, I called the hotel directly to ensure I could leave dogs in room so I could see a show. I also asked if I could get early check in and was told “no problem, just call the day before” by a gentleman. Upon calling the day before, the woman said there were no rooms for the one I purchased. I said ok, I can upgrade because I have to check in. She was snotty and said that isn’t possible. I kept pushing because the gentleman said it wouldn’t be a problem. She finally tutted and said she’d upgrade room.
Well, I get there and lo and behold, it wasn’t upgraded. Upon checkout, they actually charged me when I had already paid in full through BringFido. They blamed the computer and refunded me, but really? Aside from that, the location is good (1” minute walk from theater) and restaurants and amenities. The rooftop bar was great for view but the bartender was annoyed at my showing up. She ignored me while she scrolled on her phone, until I finally asked if I could order. For what I ordered, the price was RIDICULOUS! $46 for a drink, and 3 chicken satay like things. Hotel good, staff not so much.

We loved the experience of a boutique hotel, but the rugs/carpet were filthy and the bathroom around the toilet was horrible. There wasn't any type of food service in the hotel and the windows accumulated an ice sheet (inside) because of the cold air outside. The staff was friendly enough but the amenities left a lot to be desired.

We went for a quick weekend get away. The staff were amazing and accommodating. Wonderful place to stay. Very walkable and our dog loved it it as well

Our experience at this hotel was great, and very accommodating!! We were able to book a room last minute effortlessly. We had one hiccup on our stay, when we arrived the room we originally booked wasn’t ready after an hour of waiting past the check-in time. I completely understand, due to the pandemic businesses have a shortage of workers. The upside to this is (Kayla) front desk concierge went out of her way, and our room was upgraded to a suite! The suite was very clean, spacious, comfortable bed, and we had a great view of the fireworks (New Year’s Eve/Day!) Our dog (she’s well over 100lbs) even felt comfortable being here. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and personably. I would definitely recommend staying here! We have found a new place to stay with our fur baby!

The staff here is absolutely so welcoming and friendly towards owners and pets alike!! The hotel feels a little rundown because it's older but the bed was super comfortable. It can be a bit loud because you are downtown but I expected that. Very pricey in my opinion for what you are getting. Breakfast was delicious!

Loved the Madison! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were great with my lab every time we went through the lobby. Rare was the time when at least one staff member didn’t ask to pet him. Stayed during a snow fall which effectively shut down the city and had an issue with the heat. They immediately changed my room and even upgraded me. Again, cant say enough about this great property and great hotel. Oh yes I can. Location is great for dog walking!

This hotel is located in the heart of town, very close to the riverwalk and two parks. Staff was very dog friendly. The rooftop bar has an amazing view, and your dog is welcome there, too.

Health & Safety
Safe Stay: Hu Hotel has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay. Social distancing measures are in place, and cashless payment is available. Each room has a 24-hour gap period between stays, and hotel staff are required to wear masks.
