The suite style room was fantastic with our two dogs. We loved the layout and set up of the suite. The dogs did great and had enough room to move around without feeling cramped.

The Residence Inn in Amarillo was our go to when visiting family. Used to be clean, rooms in good order, staff cordial with no issues. Not this time. Upon checking in the front desk clerk said "I have the perfect room for you!" It was not.
First our key card didn't work. Upon entering there was duck tape holding the carpet down. It was a tripping hazard. Second the ballast on the outdoor light was going bad so it made a horrible high pitched noise. The black out curtains were so brittle and falling apart that even though they were safety pinned together they didn't block out the light. The room smelled. We were moved to another room. It was in better shape.
There were issues with the coding of the key card. Every night after a long day of visiting with family we had to go down and have our key card recoded to get into our room. After two nights of our week long stay I received an email thanking us for our stay? Another visit to the front desk.
The most disturbing event that happened was our credit card was double charged after already paying up front with BringFido. After getting nowhere with the front desk to rectify the issue we contacted BringFido and they helped us with getting a credit back to our card. Thank you BringFido! We will never stay at the Residence Inn in Amarillo again. And of course after all was said and done we were charged the pet fee. Shame on you Marriott Bonvoy

We specifically wanted a hotel room with 2 bedrooms and a kitchenette which would allow our dog and this was a great option.

Most Residence Inn hotels are on the upside for me. Not this one! It’s pretty dingy... lots of stains, oversized shower curtain that sits in the slow draining tub water, torn curtains... Don’t stay here if you’re expecting the typical Marriott experience. This place feels dirty and run down. Not worth 170 for a night (50 dollar pet fee).

The room was nice and the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils. The carpet was a little stained, which is the only reason I didn’t give it 5 bones. The room smelled fresh and the air conditioner was quiet.

I only recommend this one if you need the kitchen or have large dogs. The I-40 corridor in Amarillo has nicer properties for about the same rate. This one needs an update, the continental breakfast is to be avoided, and the cleaning crew seems understaffed.

As far as the staff, and amenities- I would give a 5. I booked a King with a sleeper- room 100 was given to me when I requested a ground floor near an exit, and it was at the end of hall right by the doors to the doggie area- awesome! But we got into the room and it smelled of pee, as I always do- I pull up the sheets to see the mattress... and it looked as if several someone’s had “wet” the bed!! The shower/toilet need replacing, both were “cleaned” but they need replacing. I honestly wore my flip flops the whole time because the carpets are gross. I wouldn’t stay again, at least in that room until you verify they’ve replaced that mattress. Oh and don’t use the bedding for the pull out couch- it’s all covered in mysterious yellow stains....I didn’t dare pull out the couch based on the rest of the room, yuck!
