Welcome to Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites! With West Texas A&M University in the neighborhood, our Canyon hotel is a favorite for students, faculty and staff. Whether you are here for graduation weekend or teaching for a semester, you can count on our Canyon hotel to make your commute quick and easy. The Palo Duro Retirement Home is also in the neighborhood, and many of our guests are visiting loved ones at the facility. Squeeze in time to visit Canyon State Park or the Pan Handle Museum, even if you are here for a special event, because it is worth it. We offer free Wi-Fi and free breakfast at our Best Western Canyon hotel. Start off the morning right with a hearty, all-American meal of endless buttery waffles, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and pastries, along with 100% Arabica coffee and juices. We are within walking distance to restaurants, but leave the most important meal of the day to us. Lunch and dinner are when barbeque is calling. An indoor pool is ideal for relaxing, and some guests at our Canyon hotel prefer a more laid back vacation. If adventure is calling, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is filled with hiking trails and birding opportunities. Biking, taking on the trails, or slipping into a Texas Musical are all favorite activities in this part of the Lonestar State.

Desk clerk checking us in asked me to initial at the bottom that we didn’t have a pet, even though we booked they BringFido and our dog was right there with us. Room was nice enough, but we were on the third floor which is a bit of a hassle with the dog going in and out.

The hotel was clean, the breakfast was hearty, and the downtown square of Canyon is nice with several restaurants and shops. Only four bones because there is no area to walk your pooch and many of the pet friendly rooms are on the second floor. Much of the first floor is taken up by the lobby, pool, and laundry. We drove approximately 4 miles to Canyon Trails at Buffalo Hill to give our dog a good walk after spending several hours in the car. The hotel is roughly 14 miles from Palo Duro Canyon. We picked up takeout from JoeTaco (including some refreshing to-go Margaritas).

We had a great experience. The rooms are comfortable and clean, service is friendly and it includes breakfast. There is a lawn around the hotel to take the dog out or you can walk your dog few blocks behind the hotel. Added bonus is a restaurant next door so you don't have to drive to grab dinner.

Pet friendly, I had 2 room with king beds. We had our 3 fur babies and they did really good. Had a lot of grass in the back area for dogs.

A very welcoming place in a great location! It was clean and comfortable! Totally worth the short drive from Amarillo and the worth the price, considering all the pet-friendly hotels in Amarillo were rated dirty and sketchy!

Super easy, even w/Covid protocols. Comfortable bed, good water pressure, decent TV. Only complaint is that they didn't clean up pet poo in lawn(s).

Seemed very new. Restaurants a few blocks a way. Lots of grass area for dogs. Room was very nice - I got the suite with a king-sized bed. They even gave me a little to go bag.
