Terrible experience! Made a reservation and secured with credit card. Specifically asked for a pet room and was quoted the extra fees which we gladly accepted. Arrived at hotel to be told by front desk guy that we did not specify a pet room and we cannot stay there (no more pet rooms). He then proceeded to tell us our dogs could sleep in the car. Mind you this is Texas and we are having a record heat wave, not to mention it’s illegal. I will never stay at a Best Western EVER if this is the kind of service they provide.

We got a room close to the side door so we could go in and out without going through the lobby. There was an adequate grassy area for the dogs. The room was nice. The breakfast was nice. I would go again.

Very clean with a very nice staff. Plenty of grass surrounding hotel for dog walks. Good breakfast. Conveniently located next to a Sonic for a late night treat.

We usually break at Amarillo because there are more hotel and dining options. This time everything in Amarillo that we would even consider staying at was way overpriced from base room cost to pet fees. With trepidation we pushed on to Clarendon. What a pleasant surprise! Not sure if our room was recently renovated, but it seemed so and the rest of the hotel was in good shape as well. There is a wide grassy area around the periphery of the hotel parking lot, not scenic, but completely adequate for doggie business. There are 7 restaurants in Clarendon and we thought we were going to have to settle for pizza or the drive-in. But the number One restaurant (according to TA) is Jinda, a Thai place. Close by and crazy good food (see TA). Average breakfast at the hotel, but the overall experience was way better than any place we’ve ever crashed at in Amarillo.

agree with comment above, lots of grass, no musky dog smell, and will stay again with or without my dog. Best stay for weary traveler with Dog. The best western plus exceeded my imagination. I received a large room with a large fridge and a breakfast and large space for my dog and check out time 11! it gave me plenty of time to pack up my things. A+++!

Typical box hotel in small town Texas. Newer property with lots of green lush verges outside, ideal for the particular pooper. Pet friendly rooms or on ground level, close to access doors. Sonic next door, with outside patio tables for the doggy diners., Allsups across the road fir everything else
