  Good for overnight

  We booked here for two reasons: 1. We have a larger dog and most places don’t take 50+ pound dogs and 2. It was the right spot for our road trip. Staff was friendly. Breakfast (included) has delicious waffles and good options. Downside is that it needs updating (pool is just the works on that). Rooms are a bit worse for wear as the walls look dingy. Bathroom shower head needs repairs. Beds were very comfortable so we slept well. Being a location that takes dogs, it’d be nice if they added a specific dog space for relief and/or exercise. The restaurant across the street has great food. Overall, for an overnighted in a rod trip we felt safe, easy on and off the highway, food close by, beds were comfy.

  Decent location

  Staff was friendly. Carpeted rooms, which isn’t conducive to having dogs. Also, couldn’t get a first floor room which was tough as the elevator was all the way at the other end of the hallway from our room. Had to use the stairs to be close to an exit. Very difficult when you have a 30 lb puppy to carry up and down the stairs for potty in the middle of the night.

  Great overnight spot!

  First Choice Inns is clean and comfortable. It was a convenient stop on our drive and we would recommend it for anyone needing a night’s stay on the road. Plenty of grassy space for dog walking, comfortable bed, nice shower, great breakfast, ample parking, etc. Very pleasant stop for some much needed rest on the road!

  The Inn had everything me and my two dogs needed at the end of a long day driving—king bed, nearby restaurants, and nice shady sit-space to watch the sunset. Hot breakfast, too.

  Better than most

  This was a pretty standard hotel. What made it excellent was the great staff and above average amenities. Very much appreciated being near the outside door, loved the outdoor areas. Yes, there were pet stains on the rugs in the room, but the room smelled ok (even to my oversensitive nose). The bed was comfy and bathroom was clean. This was a welcome change from other suggestions which sometimes turn out to be grossly overpriced for skanky places for people to stay. We would gladly stay here again, and would recommend to friends.

  Lots of grass for dogs

  Room was nice, good breakfast, large grass area for the dogs. Glad they made exception so we could go with our 3 small dogs.

  Excellent service

  Hotel was great. Plenty of room to walk and play with dogs. Free breakfast, but get their early.; they ran out of some hot items at 8:30 am. Staff friendly and helpful. 45 minute wait at restaurant across the road from hotel. We had pizza instead down the road. Would recommend with dogs to stay here.

  Great dog-friendly choice

  Our experience went smooth at First Choice Inns. Definitely dog friendly, with lots of other dog owners around. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The complimentary breakfast was also pretty good. Great value for your money. I'd stay there again.

  Just okay

  The lobby was nice. The room was okay, except the shower didn’t work. Breakfast was just okay when it was stocked. They started putting things away 45 minutes before time. They didn’t restock anything unless asked. Waffle maker didn’t work. It was a place to stay. Wouldn’t go there again.

  Solid motel with friendly people

  My Husband and I have stayed here with our Berner ever time we go from Denver to San Diego and back. There is a wonderful park behind the motel that we use to play fetch with our pup. The motel is clean, and the owner is very helpful. We’ve seen good improvements since he purchased it one year ago!

  Nice comfortable room and great bed. Put me right by the door for easy bathroom breaks for the dog. But the TV didn’t work, no coffee in the room, the lobby coffee was hot water (plus the travel center was out of coffee too), and the shower didn’t work. Lucky 3 bones because the bed and outside access.

  Not worth the money. Not enough hot water, no bath mat, dining area open too late, Keurig coffee maker in room didn’t work. Hotel needs some TLC.

  The Owners Were Nice

  We didn't get adjoining rooms. In one of the rooms we had the shower didn't work and the darkening window shade was broken. The owners were really good about the people with pets. The dogs were happy in our rooms.

  The hotel is right next to the riverfront trail and next door to the Powell museum. It’s across the street from the Tamarisk restaurant, the best place to eat in Green River.

  Nice dog walking areas

  Probably should have given fewer bones. Room nice- but in the morning when time to get ready to leave- shower handle is threaded. Won’t turn on. Bed comfortable. Full Breakfast. Grassy area. If you stay here- check out the room carefully.

  Just What We Needed

  The staff was lovely, the rooms were clean. There was a nice green grassy area for the pups and the breakfast hit the spot! We ordered take out from Tamarisk which is right across the street and had dinner in bed because we were tired!

  Great place to stay

  Our rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was good. lots of animals staying here & it was pretty quiet for the most part. The new owners are very responsive to any problems. Our refrigerator was not working when we got to our room. It was later at night when we got there but the owners came to our room within 1/2 hour and put in a brand new refrigerator. We are very glad we stayed there.

  You get what you pay for

  Pros: very convenient to the highway, huge grassy area for your pets, comfortable bedding, friendly front desk, close to food and gas stations, very safe town even though it looks run down. Cons: smelled like dog pee, hair was in shower tub, hair was on the towels, breakfast was lacking in food, pool is only open 5pm to 11pm.

  Quiet and very clean

  Our room with King size bed was spacious -- even with 2 large dog beds on the floor. There is open space around the motel (and a nicer park, and even river walk close by) to walk the pups. Made for an easy 1 night stay.

  A very nice out-of-the-way location. Lots and lots of room to walk the dog. Restaurant right next door but it's closed Monday and Tuesday so we didn't get to try it. Owners were very helpful. We have already made reservations to stay there on the return trip.

  Solid choice with pup

  Renovated clean room. Comfortable bed, microwave and refrigerator. Lots of grass for dogs including museum lawns next door. Paved path along the Green River, and Tamaresk restaurant across the street was great. Stayed mid week in January and was one of only a handful of guests. Left before grab and go breakfast at 7am. One of the nicest dog friendly motels we have stayed at.

  Good Bones

  Clean, comfortable. Good restaurant right across the street. Grab and Go breakfast helped us to get back on the road in the morning. Very dog friendly. Would stay there again.

  They are trying...

  This hotel is on the edge of becoming a good place to stay. It has recently been purchased by a new owner who is working to improve their space and their services. It was okay for our stay in that there was a green space next door at a museum as well as their own front lawn with lush green grass in an otherwise barren land. The downside was not being able to leave our dog in the room unattended (even if crated) so that we could go to dinner across the street. There were several housekeeping issues - but as soon as I spoke to the front desk, they apologized and immediately remedied the situation. The carpet in the hallways looks worn and dirty. They worked hard to provide a hot breakfast. Overall the experience was uneven. I hope they can continue to improve!

  Large clean and bright all ground floor rooms, pleasant staff and trying hard with the pick up breakfast… (best we’ve had during Covid travel times) would stay here again.

  Great Place

  There is a big grassy area for dogs. The hotel is an older one but you can see the improvements the new owner has made. They had a large breakfast area with indoor and outdoor seating. That area was closed due to Covid still. They provided a 'grab and go' breakfast which was nice. The room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot with k-cups. There was also fresh coffee down at the front desk. There was a night light in the bathroom. I booked through BringFido and then had to pay extra taxes because they weren't paid through BringFido. This happened at another hotel also.

  Great value

  Clean, updated rooms, quiet with comfy beds and GRASS. A patch at the hotel and a park next door. The town is a bit down at the heels, but this hotel was the perfect refuge after a long day on the road with our Jack Russell. Friendly staff and their COVID grab and go lunches were hot and handmade.

  Good roadside hotel for you and your dogs

  Room was a bit worn but clean and functional. Had all of the requirements. Microwave, fridge, coffee maker, air conditioner. There was a very nice lawn area with chairs, tables and BBQ. Dog area was gravel but still fairly nice. Check in was smooth and painless. I would stay there again.

  This was the nicest dog-friendly spot in Green River. Rooms were clean, and adequate for a one night stay. There was a nice grassy park next to the hotel, and there was also a dirt area that was accessible for dogs although it wasn't very inviting. Just don't expect more than a clean, functional place to sleep.

  There was food on the floor that my dog ate and I have no idea what it was. There was hair on the bed and a room card key down in the sheets that wasn’t mine. The hotel manager was not willing to make any kind of gesture to right my gross stay.

  First Choice at the Swell

  My Pup and I felt very welcome. The room was very comfortable and there was a nice area outside to take her. The people at the front desk were very helpful and very accommodating. Also very friendly! I would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

  Great Spot

  Clean hotel. Very conveniently located between national parks and seconds away from Tamarisk (quality restaurant). The Free breakfast was delicious. The large green space for dogs right behind the hotel was wonderful. If there is were many other pets, it was a respectful atmosphere - no excessive barking, etc. Minus one bone because beds were not « supremely comfy » and advertised as queens actually doubles. But still decent and clean.

  Perfect Stopover Point

  The bed was soft. The showers were warm. There was plenty of space to walk the dog and some interesting history in town. When we left in the morning our car was there with all our belongings. What else could we want. Oh- and morning staff on 5/29/2020 was extremely helpful.

  Surrounded by other Pet Owners

  Everyone was wonderful and we felt very comfortable having our dog with us in the hotel. One bad apple can spoil the barrel. The people next to us left their dog in the room while they went to dinner and the dog barked and scratched at the door the whole time they were gone. The desk call us as others had complained. Be respectful of the rules and neighbors as it could cause the hotel to become no longer pet friendly for the rest of us. I also don't understand just because there are no poop bags in the dispenser doesn't mean the pet owners shouldn't pick up after their dogs! Also check your charges as this hotel charged us twice for the pet fee for only one night.

  Green River Walk

  Check in was friendly. Room was comfortable. Tv channels and what to watch was not on demand but a schedule.
  Five stars for grass area and access to the next door museums grass lot.
  Also the museum has a 1/3 mi paved walk along the river.
  Be sure to stop at the cafe midway between hwy 70 and the hotel
  They roast the coffee beans onsite and serve the best breakfast burrito I have ever tasted!!! Sorry I didn’t buy a pound of their coffee

  (Like next door). Clean new hotel just back from the river. Green spots for dogs to sit out front for breakfast or in the evening. Nice new river walk too for walking the dogs. We had Lovely quiet room #118 facing the Powell museum. Nice full breakfast, complimentary local melon slices in the afternoon break. Nice indoor pool and small fitness center. We will go back when traveling through Green River.

  Best Hotel

  The room was very clean . The only thing I would like is to be on the first floor. Handling 2 German Shepherds and luggage is not easy. If I ever go to Green River again I would stay at this hotel again.
