Reviews
- DeborahJan 7, 2024Very accommodating
The staff was very efficient and made clear the rules for our pets. Since we made a reservation, we were allowed to have our 3 dogs; usually the limit is 2. This was extremely accommodating! Our room was located on the end of the building where the pet area is, which was very convenient.
- RobertJan 6, 2024Great location
Rooms were great. Great staff.
- JeanNov 9, 2023Dog friendly
Clean. Good breakfast.
- FrancisNov 6, 2023Great location
Well staffed, clean, and safe.
- JamesSep 28, 2023Great accommodations
Very friendly staff and large clean room.
- CristenSep 21, 2023Nice staff, old hotel
The staff was very polite and responsive, so I have no complaints there. But the hotel is quite old and has loud pipes, and little insulation between rooms. Sleeping was difficult since it sounded a bit like the occupants of the room above us were rearranging the furniture, and the room beside us had (understandable) cause to use water.
- JacquelineSep 17, 2023Clean and Comfortable
Not a huge dog area, but in the desert a small piece of grass works. Our room was generous in size, clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was typical for a hotel as such. Certainly not as creepy as some other establishments in the area. It worked well for one night’s stay.
- AshlynAug 22, 2023Do NOT recommend this place
We booked this because of the other positive reviews and our experience was everything but that. From the moment we checked in, they said they don’t have king bed rooms that are pet friendly and we’re getting two queens. No decent customer service or apology at all. Then, they watched my husband parking on security cameras and told me to make him park somewhere else in a specific spot. Our room smelled musty, water damage all in the bathroom on the door. A/C wasn’t working like anywhere. Surrounding area is not great. Will not stay here ever again.
- CaroleAug 16, 2023Great stay
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Very clean, good breakfast. Would highly recommend. Felt very safe there traveling with my son and dog.
- MarlaAug 1, 2023Hate to say it, but we were happy
The reason we hate to say we like this hotel is we don't want it to be booked when we want to use it. The beds are comfy, the towels are nice, breakfast is good, and the rooms are roomy enough our pupper had space to have the zoomies. They also have Kuerig machines in the rooms and a Nespresso machine in the lobby.
- AmandaJun 23, 2023No complaints
Nice, clean room.
- GMay 28, 2023Very nice room
We had requested a room close to an outside entrance because of my difficulty with walking. I should have added “with no stairs”. I ended up having to walk nearly the entire length of the hotel to get to our room. I would have had to climb two sets of three stairs if I had used the entrance closest to our room! We were able to park in the handicapped parking space closest to the lobby/main entrance.
- CraigMay 28, 2023Nice stay
Nice stay. Pay at check-in $15 extra for our dog. Dog walk was on north end of building and we were in end Room there, but we were on second floor. So down stairs to take our dog out. Hotel breakfast area was all the way down on South end of building by the only elevator. Stairs on both ends nothing in middle of building. You had you cook your own waffles, the scramble eggs and sausage links were in chafing dishes; also had assorted pastries and cold cereal. You can't leave your dog in your room unattended to eat in dinning room. So I went to get breakfast and took back to eat in our room while my wife played with our dog.
- MichaelMay 12, 2023Clean and adequate facility
Decent accommodations. Nice staff.
- NinaMay 10, 2023Average hotel
Nothing fancy but was clean and not falling apart. Staff wasn't that friendly but not rude either. Seemed a little overpriced but worth it considering the less expensive options in this area! We would stay here again.
- CynthiaApr 11, 2023Very Nice
Only stayed one night on a cross-country CA to NY trip. Met all our needs: clean, friendly, with a pet area.
- GalenFeb 21, 2023Great place
Clean room, great service. But if you’re there on a weekend be prepared for people partying.
- DavidNov 28, 2022Great Accommodations
Easy check-in. Close to casinos. Room was clean and well maintained. Great breakfast. Two things could make the stay a little better. A small microwave would be appreciated and a pet sitting service so we could go out to eat (not supposed to leave pet unattended in the room). Requires us to order takeout and eat in the room.
- CeliaNov 25, 2022Nice dog area, but motel is old
The dog area is just outside the motel, which was great. And it's nice - grass area, poop bags provided, etc. The room was clean and there's a nice sized fridge. However, the beds are not very comfortable, the rooms are old (toilet seat falling off, bad lighting, and more) and it was VERY noisy - not much sleep for the humans or the dog.
- DaisyOct 31, 2022Best Western Plus Wendover
Comfortable rooms, plus specified dog areas with bags & disposal cans.
- LuanneOct 9, 2022NOT THE BEST
The room was very dark and dreary and extremely noisy. It was like the room above us housed a group of tap dancers. The grassy area for our dogs was muddy and most everyone had their dog with them making the small grassy area very crowded with lots of growls and possible dog fights. We won’t choose this hotel again when passing through.
- RichardOct 5, 2022Pretty Good Place
Friendly staff, breakfast was good. Room was a bit dated and not much of an area for your dog except a bit of grass in the back.
- DeniseSep 30, 2022Nice Potty Area
Nice area for pets, green grass was nice! Hotel was clean but in our case we were pulling a loaded utility trailer and arrived late in the evening parking was a nightmare! If you're towing and can’t arrive early pick another hotel!
- DanielSep 26, 2022Not great
Room was rundown and overpriced. Breakfast was poor. I would not recommend this location, unless there is nothing else available.
- SherrySep 18, 2022It was OK
The staff at the BW in Wendover UT was very nice. The room was a bit tired. The surrounding area was not great. It was a good stopover before driving further into Utah and Salt Lake City.
- DebbieSep 14, 2022Nice grass area
Got the first floor near the grass area. So very convenient.
- SusanAug 31, 2022No bells and whistles but it worked
We loved the pet fee was only $15. Nothing fancy but comfy beds, dog friendly at a reasonable price.
- LindaJul 30, 2022First motel experience with our pups
Good space for the dogs to go out.
- JohnJul 23, 2022Great location
Very clean, comfortable bed.
- MichaelJul 19, 2022Very dog friendly
Good location from hwy. Plenty of parking. Grass for dogs.
- CatherineJul 14, 2022Nice room but noisy
I debated between a 3 and a 4 but ended up going with the 4 because the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good. However what I read in other reviews was true that you could here a lot of noise from above and also water noises. At 5:30 am it sounded like there was an aerobic class going on over us but then it quieted back down so maybe they were just a family hitting the road early. I also usually avoid places that will not let us leave the pups in the room unattended but there weren’t really any other decent area choices. They did make me confirm and sign at check in that they would not be left. So we got some take out dinner and swapped off going down for breakfast. There is a small grassy area in the back. It was well picked up but part of it was a bit muddy from what looked like some kind of leak. All in all a clean, decent place if you are passing through on a road trip.
- KellyJul 2, 2022Great Stop
Our room was clean and large. Perfect for two big spoiled goldens. And the room was conveniently locating near the exit to the dog walk.
- KathrynMay 20, 2022Pet friendly
Great area for pets. Good location. But could hear people upstairs. Must be thin walls.
- JanetMay 6, 2022Hard to find
The hotel front does not face the street, so was a bit difficult to locate, but it was a nice hotel (updated) and very friendly to pets. Not the best sound proofing between floors and the above tenants had kids running across the room til late.
- GaryApr 21, 2022Comfortable and Clean
Enjoyed the facility and dog run. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good.
- AndreaDec 31, 2021Nice Place, Bed Too Soft
I liked this hotel, the staff were polite and helpful, the breakfast was good and my dog Henry was made to feel welcome. My only complaint was that the bed was so soft I woke up with a stiff neck. Not a big deal except that I had to drive for 11 hours through snow with a painful neck. If you don’t mind a very soft bed you’ll like this place but if you, like me, prefer a firm bed, you may want to reconsider.
- JessicaNov 1, 2021Great stay
Nice and quiet.
- SaraNov 1, 2021Clean and Easy
Pet friendly. Good breakfast. Soundproof rooms. Grassy area for dogs is small but sufficient.
- Jeanne BOct 28, 2021Wonderful hotel
Easy to have a pet here. Rooms are spacious and clean. Hotel is very, very nice as well as the staff.
- JanetOct 8, 2021Good
4 bones because we were put on 3rd floor. Who puts pet friendly rooms on third floor? Otherwise, clean, quiet & little grassy area for dogs.
- ThomasSep 20, 2021Dog friendly
Place is clean and staff are friendly.
- ThomasAug 19, 2021Good stop but watch the rates
We’ve stayed here before, but on a recent trip they really jacked up the price. Felt totally ripped off.
- JohnAug 19, 2021Fairly clean but noisy
This is one of the cleaner motels in the area but good lord was it noisy. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. We usually request a ground unit because my partner is a disabled combat vet and we like to be in and out quickly the next morning. The noise from running water on the above floor was so loud it freaked out our dog. You will hear every step made by your neighbors. Stay on the top floor if you want a good night's sleep. No microwaves in the room. On the plus side they had a nice veteran discount and the only WiFi I've ever seen that has higher upload than download speeds.
- AlysaJul 26, 2021Clean, nice pet area
I liked that the pet area supplied poop bags and trash bin right next to the pet area. There was also an exterior door that led right to the pet area which was very convenient.
- KiranJul 16, 2021Ok for one night stay
We were on a cross country drive with 4 dogs from California and this was the first stop. We had 2 rooms. Rooms were ok - microwaves were removed from the rooms for some reason although they had one in the lobby that could be used. Location of rooms was convenient near the back door as it was easy to take the dogs out.
- StevenJun 24, 2021No Carts
Slightly inconvenient room for us on the second floor at the end of a long hallway with no available courtesy carts to haul our stuff. Other than that, it was ok.
- DavidJun 12, 2021Bumpy mattress, paper thin ceiling
Was on the second floor and could hear the person above repeatedly walking to the bathroom and running water. The place was fully booked, so there were no good remedies.
- CarolMay 23, 2021Great stay
Room was quiet and bed was soooo comfortable we all slept great. Me, hubby and our 2 dogs.
- SueMay 19, 2021Easy to find
We were put at the end by the exit which was so handy to run my dog in and out for potty breaks. Room was clean and tidy!
- DavidMar 18, 2021Nice, but....
The room was, overall, quite nice and we were happy with the location near the door and well-lit outdoor pet area. However, in the corner of an otherwise well-appointed room there was, inexplicably, an old white chair and ottoman upholstered with a thin fabric-backed vinyl. The vinyl was flaking off everywhere, very badly and very obviously. We would have liked the use of the chair, but neither of us wanted to touch it. Having said that, we would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to other travelers. We just don’t understand the chair...
- KentonDec 1, 2020noisy neighbors
Motel would have met all expectations but unfortunately they put a family of gymnasts directly above us and at 12:30 I called the front desk to see if they would ask them to quit jumping around. I don't know if they did or not as I called back at 1am and said they were just as loud. The front desk asked if we wanted to change rooms but I thought they should have moved the noisy people as opposed to ruining our nights sleep.
- MoniqueNov 21, 2020Nice
The room was very nice and clean but didnt do anything special for dog. I read people had dog bowl for water or toy but maybe because covid things changed. The room didn't smell at all which was nice.
- LaurenNov 13, 2020Clean and comfortable
Room was a good size and clean. The town is not great but fine for a quick overnight stop.
- MichaelOct 20, 2020Dog central
We checked in at midnight on Monday, Which was later than we expected, but they were fine with late check-in. We were on the ground floor. We had easy access to what I would call a heavily trafficked outdoor grassy area. Some people clean up after themselves, but they had a lot of dogs staying there. One dog across the hall from barked a lot. I don’t think the hotel can help that. In the morning we saw seven dogs with their owners checking out. It seems to be a popular hotel with the pet set. Our bed was comfortable. The room was clean.
- BarbaraSep 24, 2020Nice, But...
This is a nice hotel with lots of grassy areas for pets, but even though Best Westerns website states that during the corona virus outbreak they are blocking rooms for 24-72 hours after cleaning if possible, the man at the desk denied they are doing any such thing. he even told me it wasn’t on the website! I just looked it up and it definitely states that that is their policy. Just so you know if you are concerned about that.
- LizAug 27, 2020Very Nice Hotel
Very spacious, neat and clean.
- LisaAug 9, 2020Great location
Very easy access, clean rooms.
- BobJul 20, 2020Clean and quite
Rooms were clean....away from the casinos so it was quite. They did a great job to welcome
- AndrewJun 14, 2020Not a bad place for a quick stay.
I have stayed here before with my dog. The room was as advertised. When we walked in the room there was an ammonia smell. Kind of get use to it after a little while. But then when you leave and come back, the smell hit you again. My dog kept sniffing all around looking for it, but never found it. It's a pet friendly room, so I get it. Someone before me didn't do a good job cleaning up.
And I guess they have a new rule that pets aren't allowed on the beds. If that works for you, then great. My dog hated it.
No breakfast, but that's not their fault.
- JeanMay 20, 2020OK, Not great.
We booked the room for a dog and we were placed right next to an outside entrance, so there was a bit more noise than I would have liked, but it was close to the dog relief area, so I am sure that is why we were at that spot. The night we were there, the upstairs room/hallway was very noisy and when we tried to call front desk, the phone would not work. I did walk down and tell the man on duty and he did call in to someone and the noise did cease. Overall, the room was nice, but a bit small for a large dog.
- MichelleFeb 20, 2020Perfect pit stop
Clean, convenient, safe, dog friendly and a good little area for relief. No great places for a walk, but I got there late and left early. Possibly there is a neighborhood park. I heard another dog barking a bit, and the stairs were a little noisy but everything was quiet by 10, so good overall. I would stay there again on a drive through.
- DanielleFeb 1, 2020Perfect Place To Stay
This was the first time traveling with my dog and this was the best possible place for it! They had a decent dog area to play and go potty. Room was fine, right next to the outside door which was convenient. Would definitely stay again.
- JerriDec 26, 2019Worn furniture
Pets are not allowed on furniture. Had to sign 3 statements of things not allowed even though stated earlier
- MikeNov 5, 2019Might Want To Leave Fido Home
The room was adequate. We were in room 128, which is right by grassy area for dogs. Problem was room 128 is located right under the stairs guests clomp up and down all night and early a.m. till we said screw it, got up at 430, packed up and split. For whatever reason, most hotels relegate guests with dogs to the less-than areas of the hotels.
- CarolynOct 10, 2019Fine for a stopover
Clean room, newer decor, good bed. No microwave in the room, though there is one in the lobby. Good sized pet grassy area. Adequate free breakfast. Good grocery within 3 miles. Otherwise this is not a location to seek out.
- CharlesSep 5, 2019Good as always
Very clean and (I think) refurbished rooms. We stay here whenever we need a stopover between Colorado (where we live) and our son’s homee in Oakland, Ca.
- TiffanyAug 18, 2019Decent
This was a decent place to stay. Pet area was clean but smelled horrible. Not many places to eat in town.
- MaureenJul 30, 2019Good Option For The Area
I stayed here one night in a king on the first floor near the exit to the pet area. I found the room very quiet, despite how busy it was. I saw a two other dogs in the hotel, both were on the second floor. Free breakfast, WiFi and parking. A area to refuel water in the breakfast room. The mattress looked brand new, and the linen clean. My room had an odor to it, but not worth switching. Very close to Salt Flats which is a must see! They do allow well behaved dogs to stay in the room unattended but note that they will contact you if there are two complaints. The pet fee was $10.
- PaulaMore than a year agoClean and comfortable
This is a great no-frills budget motel but I found it very clean and a good value. I saw at least 4 other dogs in this hotel so word is getting out about this pet-friendly place. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful.
