Had a little hiccup at check-in because the clerk didn’t see that I had dogs with me. I was given a third floor room. I asked to change to a first floor room and it was great thereafter. Nice bathroom, nice pillows and bed. Even a microwave in room. Breakfast was wonderful! If we ever need a room in that neck of the woods we will stay there again.

We stayed here in November and again just a couple of days ago. We were up there for a surgery consultation. Both visits were excellent, the staff could not have been nicer. There are pet areas on both ends of the hotel, both areas very accessible and grassy. If I need to go back to the same area again, I will be staying here again.

The air-conditioning did not work in our room and could not be fixed. Due to inclement weather we arrived late and exhausted. We were just ready to settle in for the night. Manager changed our room, but we had to pack up all of our things and move from the first floor to the third floor. It was a “suite” but in cupboards under sink bags of trash were stashed. And we were now facing a busy road on a Saturday night. Tough to sleep. It was not cheap and an extra $50 for the dog pushed it over $200. We expected more for that price.

After driving 8 hours with 2 senior dogs, it was so nice to roll in & have a first floor room. Plenty of grassy areas for dogs. Staff were great. Room was great, everything was great.

The Hampton Inn in Mechanicsville had a lot of construction in progress at the main entrance and the foyer had industrial vacuums and other equipment laying about. It was difficult to get staff at the desk when we first arrived - which was frustrating after 10 hours on the road - they seemed to be "elsewhere". Once we got someone to check us in, they were very hurried and kind of curt. This said, the room itself was very nice. Updated, convenient. Great bathroom. I would give it another try in the future to see if things change once the renovations are done.

We had a great stay and a good breakfast. I gave them 5 bones but there was lots of poop piles in the grass, and not small ones. I think it’s the owner’s responsibility to pick it up so I wasn’t holding it against the hotel.

This was our second stop at a Hampton inn on our way to NY. Staff welcoming, room clean, and breakfast was really nice. Nothing special for dogs but great for a stop off we had a ground floor room which was convenient for taking dog out. They did have a great Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant close by where we had takeout.

The staff were the friendliest ever, it’s like they were glad you were there and wanted to make you feel comfortable! The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of green walking space for the pups. And the breakfast, if you couldn’t find something to eat, there was something wrong with you! I would definitely stay again. Thanks “BringFido” for helping us find this great hotel.

We were just in town for an overnight stay but this hotel was perfect. The staff was very friendly and there was plenty of green grass outside to walk our Labrador Retriever. We would definitely come back again.

My little boy dog Reggie had a particularly trying first day on our journey South this last trip. He had been in an car accident with my husband earlier in the Summer and was still not happy riding long distance. So it was very nice to arrive at the Hampton Inn in Mechanicsville where the manager and her assistant were very helpful. The Reg was greeted with dog treats, we were helped to our room and provided with a number of options for restaurants that would deliver dinner. We both got a good nights sleep and headed out the next morning feeling greatly refreshed.
