    Very disappointing

Check in was in a dark, dirty little room with a bank teller style window, not in the lobby. Employee was definitely not friendly. The lawn area for the dogs was full of previous dog's leavings. I understand this is the responsibility of the dog owners but I would have thought that the hotel staff would monitor it. Our "Superior King" room was barebones adequate and not especially clean. I had a reservation for the next night at another Red Roof Inn and cancelled it because of this experience. We are at a Baymont Inn tonight instead. Huge upgrade!! I won't book another Red Roof Inn.

Room was clean, but in poor condition. Everything worked just ok, but hardly any hot water. Staff wasn’t very friendly and would not honor price Fido listed. We were really tired so we ended up paying $20 more. Night attendant kept insisting we had the wrong Red Roof. The room did not smell of cigarettes but halls and outside made my eyes burn. I have actually stayed in many Red Roof Inns on my way to FL and this was fairly quiet. They do not have blow dryers (all the others do) and would only give us one extra blanket, although room had two beds.

    Would NOT recommend

Someone left a chicken drumstick right outside our room. My dog tried to grab it but thankfully knows the leave it command. There were cigarettes littering the ground as well as broken glass. People begged me for money outside of my room. People hung out around the rooms at night making lots of noise, at one point the police showed up and there was a lot of screaming and arguing. It was not a good place to stay.

Marginally better than sleeping in your car

Rooms are worn and dingy, beds are OK, Bathrooms are decrepit, lobby and staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming. Guests were sitting on their stoops with doors open and smoking both cigarettes and marijuana. Feels like a ghetto. Pay another 20 bucks and stay somewhere else.

    Everything was OK

No complaints, room clean and orderly. Louie enjoyed his stay. I would suggest to Red Roof Management that they spend a little more time on customer service - particularly making the customer feel welcome, and not act like they are doing you a favor by letting you have a room.

    Red Roof Richmond

Horrific experience due to poor location, quality of the room, faulty AC, and cigarette smoke odors that were overpowering.

    Bare Necessities (sort of)

We rented two rooms. One room had no blanket or coverlet (just a single sheet on the bed), no washcloths, and one towel. However, it did have (we're pretty sure) fleas and/or bedbugs. When we asked for a blanket, we were given one for a twin bed (rather than the king in the room), and we were told they were out of washcloths, but a hand towel was the closest they had.

    It was ok

First you will pay more without a reservation. The room did smell like stale cigarettes, even found a lighter under the air conditioner. The cover on the back of the toilet looked like it didn’t fit it. The light by the tv didn’t work either.

    A Little Disturbing

First needed to check in behind bulletproof glass. The parking lot was filled with activity (Saturday night) all night and a car alarm went off at 4AM. All turned out OK. Dog was fine. Room was OK though towels a bit threadbare and sink did not drain. Right next to (within 500 yds) of Philip Morris HQ

    Stay away!

We were not expecting the hotel to be in such a terrible area. We did not feel safe at all and worried all night that our truck would be broken into or if someone will try to steal our dog. Lots of shady characters asked us questions about our dog and if he could be bred. The hotel was extremely noisy straight through 3 AM in the morning by people doing who knows what! I would never, never, never stay there again! We paid more to stay there than other places and we thought that would mean that it would be a nicer place to stay but it wasn’t! we ended up leaving at 4 AM because we weren’t getting any sleep and we just wanted to get out of there.

    Lovely Staff

They deserve 5 bones but the hotel is in poor condition. Two bones because all doors allow you to go right out to the car. A big plus but the hotel condition is poor. Needs a refreshing, curtain shredded. just a run-down appearance. One night you make do.

    Good location off highway

The location was good for easy access on and off the highway. Woman in the lobby was very friendly. My big deduction of "bones" is the room. It smelled like a cigarette ashtray even though the whole hotel is non-smoking. There also appears to have been a small fire in the room. The walls were sooty, the tv was partially melted, the remote didn't work, and the overall condition of the room wasn't very clean/well kept. The sheets were clean, but the duvet had stains. The room was small, but I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't so dirty and run down. I didn't make an huge fuss since we were only in it for about 12 hours while we slept during a long roadtrip.

    Not what I thought

The room was disgusting. I stepped in a small leftover dog piece of poop. Got it all on the bed. Crumbs in the chairs, floors so dirty my socks changed colors.

The dogs were allowed (3), but there wasn’t a trash receptacle for us to put our dog poop anywhere close by.

    DONT DO IT!!!

We were traveling home and wanted to stop somewhere for the night that was “pet friendly” as we were traveling with our little one. They stress that the hotel is “smoke free”, but outside and inside the room it smelled like stale cigarettes and I’m sure you can guess the other kind. As we walked in we found a huge white stain on the carpet, we later found cigarette holes in the blanket, hair in the shower that doesn’t belong to either of us, urine stains on the toilet, floor had all kinds of debris on the floor, but it gets better... We lost the remote to our “flat screen” (which was a 24 inch flatscreen, giving them many benefits of the doubts) so we looked under the bed for the remote. Next to the bed we found a mask from previous guest, a pillow and a bottle of beer... REALLY? Don’t let them fool you with FALSE ADVERTISING!!! If we weren’t in the middle of a bad tropical storm, I would have gone somewhere else. Never again.

    Close to base

This hotel was very accommodating for pets. The staff was polite and fast getting us checked in. I would totally stay there again if I needed to.

Great Location...not the best with service

Arrived and clerk was not nice. Argumentative when I told her room was paid for, treated me like I was a scam and low and behold, room was paid for. Handed room key and gave NO direction and put us on second floor when we asked for first floor. (Lots of first floor rooms available from what we saw) Hotel was NOT full. Room was horrid. Went to use fridge and it smelled horrible, only to find someone's left over garlic bread sticks from Dominos...ugj! Found an earimg in the bathroom. Check out clerk was just as rude. I did not tell anyone about our stay as what was done was done. Now if you travel with a dog, please clean up after your pup. Dog area had lots of poop and I had to dodge the piles. Can't fault hotel for the unpicked up poop. Going to ruin the fact that dogs are allowed if owners don't take responsibility.

Fair price for good night sleep

Friendly receptionist, clean room (laminate floors), awesome water pressure in the shower, bed was comfortable and there was plenty of grass area to walk our pup. Stayed in the end of the first building (close to the Highway) and even tho we could still hear the trucks drive by it wasn’t too much of a disruption to our sleep. Room was quite small and didn’t have a fridge but we didn’t really care/need it. Area was quiet and seemed safe.

Broken locks, broken bathroom, dirty room, disgusting beds and lint/hair-dirt EVERYWHERE!!!! Made my dog sick! Made me sick! I think I might have lice now.

There was mold in the fridge, smelled so bad! Bathroom smelled horrible and there were holes In all furniture.
