  For the price, won't be beat. Quiet, clean, full free breakfast, great staff. Only knock is it's not real close to a dog park (right off 81) but there is plenty of green space around the property. Best deal going.

  Very nice for dogs

  We recently stayed with our two golden retrievers. The hotel was safe, quiet and comfortable. The hotel was very accommodating to dogs. There was a dedicated dog walking area with bags and a receptacle. We did not like the bathroom arrangement, as the sink is in the room, not the bathroom. Otherwise, everything was fine.

  Very helpful staff!

  The front desk staff was extremely helpful when we checked in with our little doggie. Unfortunately, the first room that was given to us had a strong pet pee smell, however, when I went to the front desk and mentioned this, they quickly were able to rectify the situation by providing us with another pet friendly room on the first floor, one that had no pet odors. I want to mention that the first room was carpeted, whereas the second room had hard wood floors. I hope that the hotel considers replacing all the pet friendly rooms with hardwood floors... as I think it would help keeping all the pet friendly rooms smelling really nice. I will definitely consider staying at this property again when in Roanoke/Salem, especially since it was so wonderful having a large grassy area right out front of the hotel for my little doggie. 😀

  The staff could not have been more welcoming. Bed comfortable and clean room. The place was quiet in spite of how may dogs I saw staying at the hotel. Plenty of green grass to walk our golden doodle. Frank's Pizza delivered a great pizza and a bottle of chianti as we do not like to leave our dog alone. All was good.

  We enjoyed the location off 81 but not right on the highway, so very quiet. Lots of green space and well lit parking lot. The room was very clean with laminate floors. Breakfast was ok.

  Easy on & off I-85

  Clean, quiet & comfortable for us & Buddy. Walking area for pets with supply of poop bags and trash can. Other guests apparently missed the pick up after your pet sign, but area was adequate to avoid the mess.

  Great overnight spot, very clean, and quiet. Our pooch is fine in room alone so we left her and went to Mama Maria’s Italian (no dogs) but excellent food reasonable priced full menu and big portions. They don’t take small reservations and were crowded but we sat/ate at bar.

  The walls were thin, the TV on the wall of the room next to mine was on all night and kept me up. An alarm clock was going off in another room that you can hear at 6am for an hour. I assume no one was in the room.

  It was a very pleasant stay because of the staff's friendliness. My only complaint is that the room had the pet urine smell that so many other pet friendly places seem to have.

  The positive-friendly staff and lots of green area around to walk pup. Negative, poor insulation; heard yips from dog across from us (was left by owners?) and also heard thumps from overhead room. Otherwise clean and we had a good night’s sleep.

  Woman at desk was very helpful in putting us in smaller room on ground floor. Room was big enough for one night and nicely decorated with an area rug under the beds. Lobby had a “fireplace” ; grounds for potty were plentiful, outside lighting almost over the top. This should be their flagship property! Our room alarm clock did go off at 5:30 AM so we were off at dawn; hope we turned it off for the next group!

  I have stayed here twice. The second time with my dogs. Both times I saw a few dogs during my stay. The staff is friendly. I feel like it’s a little too expensive for what you get and the pet fee on top of it. The walls are thin so your dog can hear others very easily.

  Traveling from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, stopped here after seeing reviews from BringFido. Did not disappoint. Very clean rooms and comfy beds. Super pet friendly, plenty of green space to walk the pups, (2 German Shepherds). Check in was easy, staff friendly and welcoming. Right of highway 81. Breakfast was hot and fresh and had something for everyone. Highly recommend this hotel if traveling with pets.

  Stayed here twice after driving Blue Ridge Parkway. Staff was great and Glinda at front desk was helpful with a recommendation for Frank’s pizza. We had a reservation for the first stay but on our way home we decided to use same hotel because the first stay was great. Rooms were both clean and breakfast was good. We stayed with 2 small dogs. A 6 year old dog and a 6 month old puppy. They are a mix of pug/ Boston terrier.

  Very dog friendly...the staff and other hotel guests were all dog lovers. Very clean...nice size suite! Very close and large pet relief area was well supplied! Nice area to walk a pet off the main roads. Close to I 81 and a short drive to stores and downtown Salem. Will stay again!

  Easy to access from the highway, general area seemed safe, front desk staff was cheerful and efficient, and the room was very clean (yay! very important factor). There were quite a number of other guests with dogs which I thought reassuring. One small demerit is that the coffee at the breakfast station wasn't available for what would have been my second cup. It was delicious, so I suppose other guests drank more of it than expected. I didn't eat anything while there, so can't comment on the food. The other small demerit is that the HVAC unit was terribly noisy, rattling loudly every time it kicked on. But other than the coffee not being replenished promptly, and the HVAC noise, it was a very satisfactory overnight. I would stay there again.

  This Inn is a great location just off the interstate. The Staff were very friendly. The carpet in the room could have been vacuumed a little better but all in all it was a pleasant stay for 1 night with our Dog. Will stay there again on our return home in the spring!

  Dirty room, dog was uncomfortable and so I was I

  The room clearly wasn’t cleaned. At first I wasn’t sure when I first saw crumbs and other dirt on the floor. It was obvious it was vacuumed or swept. Then I noticed the toilet paper was only 1/4 full and the toilet bowl itself was questionable. I pulled back the sheets and there were hairs. You could also tell my the feel of the sheets that is wasn’t fresh, or maybe just old but the hairs were a big no for me.
  They got me another room and it smelled clean and was obvious it was fresh and made it more obvious the other one was not.
  The bed made weird cracks like it was going to snap or break anytime I moved. My dog is normally chill and will just go right to sleep (we travel a lot) but he would not settle and kept looking around nervously. I also found the room extremely uncomfortable. I’ve stayed at many La Quints, I usually like them. I enjoy the free breakfast when I was to get on the road early but this was terrible and my next three nights on the road I choose other hotels.
  I’ve never written a bad review in my life, I’m easily satisfied but this was bad.

  Very disappointing

  I always stay here on my trips several times a year out west. It was much better before Wyndham took over. They're now charging a pet fee and when I told them that I stayed in a LaQuinta last night and didn't get charged a pet fee, I was told it is up to the owner. It's not that nice of a motel so if I have to pay a fee for my 3lb chi, I'll spend the money on a nicer place.
