        Overall good experience

From a dog perspective, this was a very good hotel. We had a one bedroom suite which was very spacious. Rooms had good soundproofing. Lots of grass for walks. Right on the oceanfront. There was coffee in the lobby so I could grab one and sit with my dog after our walk, which is something we like to do.
It wasn't without issues: we asked for a blanket and pillow for our son who was using the pullout sofa and the "comforter" they brought was almost as thin as a sheet, and we were told there were no extra pillows. We got a handicap room again and the usual issue of water from the shower running all over the bathroom floor. Overall we enjoyed this hotel though.
Note that staff will not enter your room if the dog is in there (that is normal)which could be the previous reviewer's issue

        Horrible experience.

Treated like lepers the entire time. Housekeeping avoided my room like the plague, no refills on the coffee, no refills on bathroom supplies, no clean glasses, no trash collected, no clean sheets, no clean towels, etc..
Even after calling the front desk on day 3 to complain, no one came and I waited in the room for 5 hours directly after complaint to confront housekeeping.
On day 4, had to physically walk down and complain in person to the manager on duty at 3pm. Housekeeping had lied and claimed that the room was empty with an unrestrained dog, and left for the day. I had not left the room except to walk the dog at 8am. Was working on my laptop at the desk and watching TV. Dog was in travel kennel. This hotel was booked through and allegedly a dog-friendly hotel. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hotel. The treatment might be expected for a chain that charges $29/night, but this was a beach resort Sheraton and the total stay was over $600 for 4 nights!! Lesson learned, don't travel with your furbaby, they aren't welcomed.
I wanted to love this Sheraton based on the glowing reviews from other pet owners, but I cannot and will not. I have a duty to warn all other pet owners to proceed with caution or avoid this hotel in the same manner that they avoided servicing my room.

        Barks with a view

We had a perfect stay at the Sheridan last week. We were on the 11th floor with an ocean view and balcony. Our Lhasa Apso, Yuji, was treated like a prince with the wonderful bellboy Patrick making sure he had enough biscuit treats. Our hotel had a beach entrance and a superb boardwalk the we were able to walk on until the Friday before Memorial Day...he could even walk on the beach! Can't wait to go again!

        Great Stay

Stayed here overnight with my border collie while passing through the area in late September. It's great to find a hotel like this that is clean and friendly and on the beach. I highly recommend it.

        Loved this hotel!

My Yorkie Poo and I stayed here for a long weekend, it was great! Service was great, Valet was friendly and helpful. My fur baby was happy and well treated, and we got an upgrade to a wonderful Beach front view! Great stay and will return for sure!

        Good to dogs

From a friendliness to dogs standpoint, this hotel is very good...well, they allow dogs, and only a few on the boardwalk kudos to them. The hotel overall was just OK. They have a lot of activities (weddings, events, parties etc,)so it is very crowded and busy and not enough elevators. Plus the staff use the elevators the guests use. And the wedding guests get to use the parking garage for free which takes up all the spaces for paying customers. But other than that, a nice hotel. Just not great.

        Simply outstanding. VERY dog friendly.

Everything about this hotel screams friendly. We have been here for a short stay on our way from Montauk, NY to Alpharetta, GA and I am so glad we checked BringFido for the reviews. The Sheraton is terrific with a very dog friendly staff , a great location, and a very nice restaurant (i.e. $5 martini's at happy hour ... I'm just sayin') plus a beach so beautiful it rivals Montauk. We will definitely stay here again!

        Great Vacay!

I looked at this hotel for months, dreaming of our beach vacation and praying that it was a clean hotel that although says its pet friendly was the right fit for our pet. I am happy to report the hotel and virginia beach in general was everything we had hoped for! SO pet friendly! From the hotel to the beach to the shops nearby. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend and hope that we are able to go back to visit next year! Keep up the good work :)

        Great experience

The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and it was so great to be right on the beach! It's a bit pricey but totally worth it. There are several dog-friendly restaurants in the area. My pup and I would definitely stay here again!

Nicer hotel that is dog friendly

The dogs had a great time in this hotel, going in and out from the beach. The decor was very modern. My only complaint is that they said we were put in a partial view balcony of the oceanfront, but in reality, there was a wall blocking our view.

        Clean Room / Friendly Staff

This was a great place to stay. It was clean & the staff was very nice. We will stay here again. Please beware the indoor pool was closed. They did offer the use of the Hyatts pool 1 1/2 blocks away.

        awesome Stay!

We went on vacation to Virginia Beach, and took our chesapeake bay retriever, Brandie, with us. Hotel was fantastic with getting us a room. All dogs are onlt allowed on the 4th and 5th fllors of this hotel, so I was shocked to see a woman with a small dog staying on the 11th floor. Had to laugh, as this hotel is known for being pet friendly, but we had a few remarks made about having our dog in that hotel by some other people who were staying there. As far as I am concerned, if they did their homework on their hotels, they would have known about it. Thats how I found it. Dissapointed that we couldnt stay longer, as the hotel is booked for the rest of the week. Fortunately, the residence in(which is 3 buildings down) also has a pet friendly policy. I will let you know how they were after our stay!!

Our mini vaca w/ the pooch

This was our first time staying in a hotel with our 14-year old Pekingese. The staff was wonderful, the hotel and beach were very clean and we loved that the boardwalk was pet friendly and the separate bike trail.

        Not so happy stay

service of the inside hotel was ok, didn't understand why they had folks that were afraid of dogs cleaning that floor and someone dented my car in the parking lot, which I now have to pay for because according to hotel mgmt they aren't responsible. I would go back to VA Beach but won't stay at that hotel.

        wonderful stay!

We took our daughters puppy who is 7 mths old with us. The staff was very friendly making a point to pet her and talk to her as we came and went. The room was great and clean! I would highly recommend this hotel!

        Pleasant Experience

BringFido got a great deal on the room, and the Sheraton made traveling with a dog a non-issue. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and there were no extra fees associated with having a pet in the room.

        Great Stay

We were thoroughly impressed with the Sheraton. The room was fantastic. The staff was especially helpful with free valet service and assistance in getting our belongings loaded onto a cart (especially when trying to manage two dogs at the same time). Breakfast was great. They have public computers in the restaurant/bar area with a printer for use as well. BringFido got us an even better rate than you could get from Sheraton directly.
