    Great Location

5 minutes from market square. Plenty of parking. The bed was very comfortable. However, they don’t have a quiet time and the guest in the next room played the TV loud all night. The manager didn’t appear to care. The refrigerator didn’t keep the food cold as we brought our dog food and it needed refrigeration.

    Unsanitary conditions

First, let me say that I have been in quite a lot of dog-friendly hotels because of traveling to dog shows and vacations. This was something I’d never encountered in any hotel. We stayed here for 1 night pre Covid because we went to a concert nearby. It was the only hotel left that allowed dogs. Now I know why. I don’t see how people can give a good review for this property; their standards must not be very high.

When we first walked into the room we both thought what a dump but could deal with that. My sister came over from her timeshare (no pets) to stay with our dogs while we went to the concert. Our room reeked of dog urine. The carpets stunk and so did the wall area next to the window. Base of bed had been marked too. When we got back to our room my sister had her shoes on and told us not to remove ours. She was disgusted and couldn’t wait to leave.

We slept with our clothes on and put lotion under our noses to stop the smell of the urine. We had no other hotel to go to that took dogs we were stuck there. When we took a shower in the morning I looked up and the entire ceiling was covered in black mold from long term water problems. The room should have not been rented out. In the morning I spoke to the manager and she asked why we didn’t request another room. They were all booked. She tried to tell me that the carpets are constantly cleaned. LOL! She was very nice and refunded our room charge but wouldn’t refund the pet fee!! I should have called the health department. Don’t stay here for your health and your pets.

    WiFi never works

Just a few miles from Colonial Williamsburg, great location, but the WIFI and cell service hasn't worked for years. You'd think they'd try Weboot or something. The breakfast is a bright spot, eggs or omelets and sausage or bacon, always hot and clean serving and dining area. The TV channels are awkward, maybe streaming, not sure. Usually only there for major holidays, and often busy and short staffed.

    Dirty

Pool green, door lock broken, floor greasy, evacuated late due to fire trucks. Lobby decent but rest of place should be demolished. It looked like decent cleaning had not been done in years.

The staff were very friendly, clean Hotel, nice area and breakfast was great. Nice area to walk our dogs. The Hotel was lacking in air conditioning, we changed rooms, it was better, but still not very cool. Halls, elevators, office, common areas and kitchen were 85 degrees or more. Temperature outside didn't help.

    Needs some work

Had to change rooms 3 times as each time we got to room it wasn’t cleaned. Ended up in a nice room but very little heat. Froze all night and I’m usually warm at night. Toilet ran all night and water pressure stunk. Keys didn’t work in room door (replaced that once). To be fair the front desk guy was very nice and they are in the process of renovating rooms and he said nobody let him know which rooms they were doing. Also carpet was wet, I think it was just shampooed.

    Needs updating

Stayed here for a couple days with my husband and dog. The stairwell and room smelled like mold/mildew mixed with cleaners trying to cover up the smell. If I could have found another hotel with a vacancy that excepted dogs we would have left. They have multiple leaks that need to be fixed. The whole hotel needs a total remodel. If you can help it stay elsewhere. Will never stay here again.

If BringFido allowed I would rate it 1 Bone

Let me start by say that I have stayed at La Quinta Inns up and down the East coast many many times (because I refuse to travel with out my dog Libby). This particular La Quinta is ... BY FAR ... the worst I have ever stayed at! Let's start with: Spoiled food left in the non-working refrigerator (you can't imagine the smell!). Along with: hair in the sink; dog food smeared on the carpet. So, I asked for and received a new room. This room vastly needed some repair work. Here's a few damage report: Torn up carpet; mildew in the shower and the sink; pubic hair on the toilet. Staff was unhelpful and put-off if you took them away from their cell phones. All in all, this is my last stay at a La Quinta Inn...PERIOD!

    Do not stay here!

1st room reeked of dog pee. 2nd room had mold. Booked 4 nights, got no room cleaning at all, had to beg front desk for clean towels. Breakfast was gross. Beds uncomfortable. Climate control clogged with pet hair and didn't work well. Checked out a day early. We will never go back to this hotel.

Friendly staff, clean room, quiet location, and a room with a nearby exit to the pet walking area; Internet was spotty but there is a McD's nearby with free wi-fi.

    Subpar rooms

The first room we were given looked like a rave happened in there and nobody cleaned up. Second room smelled like dog urine (not my dogs). The breakfast selection was really sad. Staff was nice though.

Nice quiet central location in Williamsburg

Aside from the rude guest that bounced their luggage down the stairs across the hall at 4:30 am, the location and price were perfect. Clean and close to everything!

    Good Location

The motel was fair but not bad. The front staff was wonderful and loved on our pups. But the motel is showing its age. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. For the price I paid I would say it’s a good value

    Beautiful Room decor

All of the staff were very friendly with my dog, Charlie, and me. They even greeted Charlie when they saw him in the hotel hallway. This is a very pet-friendly place, and I absolutely loved the room decor and the nice comfortable bed. (Charlie assumed the bed was a trampoline to jump on). I would highly recommend this hotel for any pet parent.

    Great location

Very nice room with two queen beds, tile floors, small fridge and microwave. It seems that the pet-friendly rooms are positioned very close to an exit which is nice. There was a good walking area with bags and disposal. Very easy access to the historic area (4 min drive). Room was very clean and modern. No pet fee is a great added benefit.

    Such an amazing stay!

We stayed here over Thanksgiving while we visited the Williamsburg area. Was an amazing stay. They were so friendly, super helpful, and pet friendly! Best part was there was no extra charge for bringing our Goldendoodle or Bernedoodle! Will stay here next time we visit!

    Great Location to Colonial Wmsbg

Recently visited the Colonial Williamsburg area. Positives: the place allows dogs and they accommodated our need to be on the first floor. Plus, only a two minute drive to the Colonial Williamsburg area. Negatives: staff came across as uncaring and needed constant reminders to leave towels, etc. outside our door. On one evening had to train the person on duty that she could assist us by taking towels, etc. from an unoccupied room (she kept insisting that she had given out the last towel earlier in the evening and that we’d have to wait until morning to secure anything laundry related). So . . . If you need a place which will accommodate “Fido”, La Quinta will meet that need but adjust all other expectations accordingly.

Having stayed in many LaQuintas, I’d call this one average. Nicer than the terribly outdated ones, but not as nice as the brand new ones. Had an okay stay, met MANY other dogs and their owners, and really appreciated the central location. Would stay here again.

    STAY AWAY

We have a daughter in the Williamsburg area and have stayed in this LaQuinta several times. The last stay was unbearable for many reasons. The rooms are dirty and need upgrading. The most concern I have about this hotel is safety. The parking is terrible, and the overflow parking is behind the hotel in a scary dark area. The manager at this hotel is NEVER on premises or returns phone calls. One of the front desk clerks was so very rude and I actually felt threatened by her to the point that I had to change hotels. Thankfully, a hotel near the hospital made an exception for my two little dogs and let us stay. I will NEVER EVER recommend this hotel or stay there ever again. I called corporate for LaQuinta, and all they did was apologize and refer me to the manager who sent a lame email, and hoping my NEXT stay would be better. LaQuinta needs to look into this property. Please stay away if you have any standards in a hotel. The maintenance man is a very creepy character and smelled like booze. Avoid the first floor, as the water comes out of the walls when you take a shower. So many things wrong about this place!!!

Do NOT Stay Here! Terrible customer service!

Worst hotel stay of my life! Do NOT stay at this hotel! My family (myself, husband, 2 young children and a dog) got evacuated from our Outer Banks vacation due to Hurricane Florence. We decided to "make lemonade out of lemons" and visit Williamsburg on our way back home to salvage some of our vacation. We decided on La Quinta because it was pet friendly. The hotel is decent enough...location is good and the free breakfast is edible. Night one was uneventful. However, on night two we are out to a quick dinner (dog in hotel room) and I get a call from the General Manager. She says there is a flood and we have to return to the hotel. We quickly leave dinner and hurry back. Upon returning to the hotel we discover that a sprinkler incident from an above room has gone off and our room is under 3 inches of water. Our dog is scared and upset and all our belonging that were on the floor are completely waterlogged and unsalvageable. They assign us to another room ... so in essence we were evacuated twice in the span of 48 hours! No one with the hotel helps us relocate rooms. My husband goes to the front desk after we finally get the rooms moved and kids and dog settled. The front desk man says the general manager is not on duty and he can't help us with a refund etc, but he will take a note down for her to see in the morning. In the morning as we check out we ask the new front desk person for a full refund and money for our damaged property. She calls the general manager and says that all the general manager can do is a ONE NIGHT refund! Talk about the worst customer service EVER! We go into this stay hoping to salvage what is left of our vacation and we leave with another evacuation, property damage and a dog that is visibly alarmed. I will end by again urging you not to stay here even if you are desperate! They do not care about their guests/pets or their belongings and their "customer service" is a joke. Do Not Stay Here!

Good place to stay with pups

Hotel was good with pets. Room was fine. For the price would stay again. Not much grassy area for pets. Could not hear other dogs barking, but saw many while we were there. Staff put us near stairs for quick potty breaks, since we had a young puppy.
