    Poor Quality

Poor quality in every aspect of this property. It was obvious that the owners have not invested time nor motion this run down property.

    Lousy Heat

Sorry, this place is a let-down. It was about 20 degrees outside (normal for location/time of year) and in-room furnace could not compete with plate glass window (room #120). I doubt the room ever got above 50 degrees for the night as the furnace (set at 90) was blowing cold air from the window directly above it and on us. By the time we realized, it was too late to move (past midnight as we got in late) and all stuff out of car. In AM, the front clerk spoke incredibly poor English, it wasn't worth arguing at that point as we wanted to get on the road. Generally - stay in Bluefield 25 min to the N.

    Horrible experience

If I was able to give zero bones, I would! We have stayed at this hotel in the past, and always been satisfied. Now the rooms have gotten tired, maintenance has not been kept up, and there are many transient residents living there. I would avoid this place at all costs. Pay more money and stay in a nice place.

    Good pit stop

The location is ideal for those of us driving up and down the USA, and I must say that the room I just had was better than the one I had in April just 3-4 months ago. There are doggy stations for waste, and the green space around the motel makes dog breaks a breeze. The rooms needs updating, and the cleanliness is not top-notch, but a nice bed and hot coffee were to be had for a fair price.

No working phone or tv in the room

No tv controller or phone that worked in the room. The Wi-Fi service was also low quality. I had to use my iPhone cellular data for Wi-Fi. Slept well.

    Great clean room but...

Heater didn't work so you had a choice of full heat or no heat. That meant getting up every hour to turn it off or on. Only one TV channel worked. Coffee maker had no filter cartridge. Other than that, a surprisingly nice place to stay with your pup. We will be back, but will make sure we have a working heater before we unpack.

    Don't bother

Stopped at this location due to price and location. Facility was old. Bathroom and bedroom floors were filthy. Had to wipe up a water spill and the rag came up black. Lack of electricity available in room (no easy access to plugs and they were all being used by lights/TV/refrigerator). Found dirty towel on floor from previous guest (located between bed and wall). Put out a little extra money and stay elsewhere with your pet.

    A big surprise

We arrived at the hotel around 11:30 pm. On the door to the office there was a note saying office temporarily closed go to hotel next door for service. We had to drive over to the hotel next door and the desk clerk had 4 people waiting all with problems. She handled them exceptionally well and with a smile although she was obviously overwhelmed on her own. She solved all the issues and gave us our keys for the original hotel room. We drove back over there, got the dog and my 81 year old mom out along with some luggage only to find the key worked to turn the light green but door wouldn’t open. We tried two keys and had 3 people attempt to open. No luck. We had to drive back to the second hotel, got a new room assigned and drove back. We were thankful the keys worked as it was now after midnight but we found there was no electricity on the wall the beds were on so the lights, clock, and outlets wouldn’t work. My mom and husband both use C-pap machines so we needed to make it work. There was no number to call the other hotel (our key holder was for a third hotel). We were too tired to go back and forth again so we ran an extension cord for the C-paps. The beds were ok and shower worked well. When Leaving our dog had splashed water on the floor so I used the towel to clean it up. I was shocked to see the towel was black! The flooring was laminate (with some boards separating). It was obvious that the floors had not been cleaned. However, all this said, for $50 plus $25 dog fee, I shouldn’t have expected more.

    Red Roof Inn

Room was clean. There was lots of grassy areas to walk the dogs. Room had a musty smell. The shower mat was moldy and coming apart. View of the mountain was nice.

    Great price, decent room

Room was new and clean, grassy area was close for the dogs. Great value for the price. Had to check in at the la Quinta next door (due to covid) but staff was helpful and friendly.

    Decent motel with terrible WiFi

If you need to get any work done while here, this is not the place. The supposed high-speed internet is slower than dial-up. I mean -- it might even be dial up, although the dial-up I had 20 years ago was more reliable.

The room was clean and the floors were laminate -- much better than carpeting for most dogs. The very simple Covid-era breakfast was next door at the La Quinta, owned by the same people. Don't bother if you need to watch carbs. There's a pretty good Mexican restaurant almost next door, too.

Conveniently located, great parking, super clean. Outdoor entrance and close to grassy area courtyard in the middle of the hotel was a great bonus for the dogs. Room was spacious and bed was co.fortable and clean. The staff was very friendly even when we arrived after midnight and offered a grab and go breakfast bag in the morning. For the price it was a great stay!

Everything was dirty; the phone, blow dryer, lights, the iron was burnt, couldn'tuse it!! The only thing clean was the tub, toilet and sink . Thank God I had my Clorox wipes!! It was dingy, the air was stale. I don't know how in the world this place got 5 bones!!!

    Great place to stay

I've been at a couple bare bones Red Roof Inns. This one was very nice, the room was clean, had everything we needed, and the service was very friendly!! I would definitely stay again!!

    Nice and Clean

We stayed one night at this hotel and were extremely pleased with how nice everything was and convenient it was for our dogs. There was plenty of room for their beds and the walking area was right outside our door. The desk clerk was very nice and accommodating. Would highly recommend this hotel, especially for the price.

    Clean, but sparse

The hotel was clean and tidy, which is always my first concern. However, everything seemed to be old, cheaply made, or in need of repair.

    Good for a one nighter

The hotel is clean, very well priced, convenient to I-81, and offers ample space to walk your dogs. The down side is it is showing its age with torn upholstery, chipped sinks/toilets and tvs that don't work. Whomever put in their laminate floors should find another line of work.

    Good Place to Stay

This property seems to have been recently renovated and is one of the nicer Red Roof Inns we have stayed at. There is a large grassy area at the back of the property which is great for walking the dogs. It also had a garbage bin and bag dispenser, a touch I always appreciate. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast is standard hotel fare and nothing special.

The usual no-hassle Red Roof policy, so pleasant. We stayed in a double, recently renovated, overlooking a grassy courtyard (once the pool). Also good large grassy area in back, with a hill so pups got some exercise! Great service. (And as with all RR, you can get a microwave and fridge with the "suites" which are about $10 more).
