Sun and Ski Inn & Suites was the perfect place for our stay with our pups. There are very nice grounds right on property for dog walking, and there is a wonderful walking path right next door!

The hotel is set on a river with and a rock bed and back yard that has lot of green grass for the dogs and people to explore and relax. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and well kept up.

The Sun & Ski Inn & Suites in Stowe, Vermont was a wonderful place for my family and my dogs to stay and one of the best things about it was that they didn't have a per night/per pet fee on top of the nightly fee!

The resort is fine. It is well appointed, good for families, and well located. But, and I hate to write this review, their business practices are shady. I stayed one night, and it was fine. The food was good, the room was good, it was fine. The front desk person did not seem to care that we were there and gave us our two rooms with little interaction. That was fine; we all have bad days. However, the next day, I got several phone calls about owing a resort fee of $15. I was annoyed but responded and paid once I got into cell service.
Fast forward to this week when I get MORE text messages about owing another $15 resort fee. No explanation, just a text message asking for MORE money. Seriously? If someone screwed up on their end, they should eat the $15 fee and not harass people over a month after the stay. The kicker? When I said that to them in a text message, they told me they would not contact me again and...CHARGED MY CARD that was on file. I WOULD NOT STAY WITH A PLACE THAT DOES THINGS LIKE THIS AFTER A STAY. Practices like this kill potentially successful businesses.

This was a great place to stay. Comfortable and quality room. The view from the window was great. Bowling alley downstairs looked fun, though we did not partake. The restaurant there was pretty decent, though the selection was limited due to short staffing, a common issue now. Definitely recommend both the hotel and Stowe.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and clearly set up for dog families as there were poop bag stations all over outside. Nice space in the back of the building along the river. Also the location was excellent, just across the street from the recreation path leading into the main part of town, and an easy walk to some dog-friendly restaurants and hangouts. Easy access to multiple coffee shops for the morning, though there was a coffee maker in the room and coffee and complimentary breakfast boxes in the lobby as well.

We stopped here for a night while traveling through the area and we were surprised to see that there was no pet fee. The back door of our room opened to a large grass area that was great for leaving the dog out and a stream behind it. The room isn’t the most updated as it could use a touch of paint here and there but it was clean and I would definitely stay here again. We didn’t get a chance to bowl as this was a quick trip but the bowling alley looked fun!

My sister and I and our dogs spent two days here last week to enjoy what Stowe has to offer. Since the hotel graciously allows dogs I wondered what the accommodations were going to be like, but I will say this: the rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet, the grounds were neat (no dog poop lying around), spacious and great for walking the dogs, and they actually had a really nice breakfast in the morning for their guests, including hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes; cold cereals, yogurt, and granola; many different types of bagels and cream cheese; cold cuts and cheese; coffee, tea, and several juices. It was unexpected and a great feature, such a nice way for guests to start the day. Pay attention to the room features. I thought there were microwaves in all the rooms but that was my mistake. They only have microwaves in some of the deluxe rooms. The woman at the desk was very helpful when I arrived there with my frozen homemade dog food. She unlocked the breakfast room for me and allowed me use the microwave in there to defrost my dog food. She even offered to try and find me a microwave to put in my room, but I told her that really wasn't necessary. However, it just goes to show how very accommodating and kind the staff are to dog owners. My room had an awful lot of stains on the carpet, but I suspect they have a certain number of pet friendly rooms that they allow pets in and they obviously aren't going to replace carpets in pet rooms when they get stained. My only worry about the stains was that my dogs (meticulously housebroken males) were really interested in smelling those areas on the carpets and I was terrified that they might want to mark the spots. Fortunately that didn't happen so my guess is that there has been some deep cleaning/sanitizing of those carpets to keep that from happening. My sister's room, which was right next door, did not have any stains on the floor so obviously carpet stains are not on all the pet rooms. I just got lucky! All in all, our stay at the Sun and Ski Inn was really nice, worked out very well, and I would definitely go back there again. One thing I would suggest, if you're bringing a dog or dogs, get a Standard Patio Room which has parking right out front and a slider in the back of the room that leads to a great dog walking area beside the river. It's such easy access to let your dogs in and out to pee and poop. They also have a lot of poop bag stations around the property with poop bags and trash receptacles. At night there are no lights in the river lawn area out back so even if you have a flashlight (which I did) I would suggest walking your dogs on the smaller lawns beyond the parking lot area, which is well lit.
