  First off, they use lesser rooms for dog owners. Our room had a defective toilet that turned on every 15 minutes, smelled and was dirty. They wouldn't give us another room or get the $6 part it needed. They told me since we got the room through BringFido, we had to contact them for any sort of a refund. The guy at BringFido was helpful but the hotel turned it down. I tried to call the offending hotel, many times the phone would ring then go silent. When I did get to a choice of who I wanted to talk to, I pressed 6 to talk to the manager. The 8 times I called on different days it said the mailbox was full. I gave my number to the front desk... NO CALL BACK!!!! This is not how to run a business.

  Skip it!

  Uncomfortable beds, outdated room. Bedding was wrinkled and didn’t look clean. They sprayed something on the beds that probably was supposed to make it smell fresh but gave me a headache. Toilet was running constantly - needed a new part which they didn’t have and couldn’t fix. Staff was friendly and courteous though and there was plenty of room outside to walk my dog. Lots of restaurants nearby.

  Convenient location

  The hotel is fine. It is nicer than some of the other hotels that accept dogs. The carpet definitely needs to be refreshed. The room was noisy because it is near a highway. But overall we were satisfied.

  Ok

  Large motel which was full when we were there. They were having tv reception problems on the local channels. Big issue was only one cart for entire motel which required carrying crate and all luggage out into parking lot.

  Good location

  Check-in was good. Room was relatively clean though sheets on one bed may not have been changed. Room was poorly maintained. Laundry staff must have quit mid-shift as 2 laundry carts partially blocked hall all night and the laundry room doors wide open showing piles of linens to be washed. Price for room was definitely for a higher quality experience. 2nd time in 2 months we’ve stayed at Country Inn hotels and have noticed a pattern of a high price for a cheap room. Will be using a different brand for our next trip.

  From bad to worse

  At check-in we were given a queen/queen room when we had reserved and paid for a one bedroom queen suite. The desk clerk said that the booking was only for queen/queen room. I told the clerk that we had reserved and prepaid for a one bedroom queen suite, she responded that was wrong and anyway they didn't have any one bedroom suites available. I suggested we call BringFido, at which time a nearby manager quickly "found" a suite directly across the hall from the queen/queen room. Unfortunately when we went in the suite the odor was disgusting and room was dirty. However, we were tired from traveling, gave in and stayed. We chose not to sleep in under covers, or take a shower. I could say more, but I think you get the point.

  Not bad

  This hotel is at a major exit from I 64/77 with plenty of restaurants available for dining. The complimentary breakfast was generous with a varied menu. Our "fido" room was on the first floor with quick access to the dog walk area without going through the lobby. The bed was comfortable and with a suite we had plenty of room for our two pups and us. The room showed some wear on the furniture and the area under the bed could use better cleaning. Our younger pup crawls under beds to provide a sanctuary for himself and would exit with "dust bunnies" attached. I noticed some dirt accumulation around the air conditioner. It seems like all hotel housekeepers go to the same bed-making school. The fitted bottom sheet to our king-sized bed was installed 90 degrees off. This seems to be a chronic problem with many hotels. The result is the bottom sheet coming undone in the middle of the night and the occupants must remake the bed since the room is not serviced with dogs in the room.

  Big, Busy, and OK

  We had a minor issue with a housekeeping oversight. The manager(s) compensated us and we appreciate it. Overall, the area was booming with travelers and it seemed all the local hotels and businesses were very busy. The hotel was a little noisy with doors and some random loud mechanical noises.

  Fine location

  Quite honestly, not that much green space for pup use. Front desk person did leave us a restaurant suggestion for a delivery option, which was nice. We were placed in a connecting room with a neighboring hotel guest, which was not smart for the dogs.

  Clean room, quiet heater

  Most important was the room was clean. Secondly, the heater didn't keep waking us in the night. (We've been to so many motels were they did.) Our room was spartan, but it did have the necessities. Because of our dog, they did give us a first floor room. That was a nice bonus. The only downside was that the coffee machine in the breakfast area was down for repairs. We were able to utilize the coffee maker in our room though. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay there again.

  Dirty and old

  Very old and tired room. Mold in the tub. No carpet at all anywhere. Dirty draperies. The people were nice however. Wouldn’t stay there again.

  So Sad

  This was our first road trip from New York to Florida with our Standard Poodle Gabe. We chose this hotel in Beckley WV because of the BringFido recommendations as well as the nearby Mexican restaurant. So very sad. The hotel did not have towels or soap and sadly had fecal matter on the bathroom door in 3 places. It was pouring rain and the Mexican restaurant does NOT allow dogs inside EVER unless they are service dogs. Basically if you are looking for a stopover from New York to Florida, my advice is to just SKIP Beckley West Virginia.

  It was so so

  Nice staff. Room was clean. A lot of place for our pup. I think they are understaffed as our room was not serviced by a housekeeper during our three night stay. Not sure if that is the new norm in many hotels due to the pandemic and its aftermath? The trash in the the public spaces was overflowing including pet waste.

  Convenient

  Traveling with no set plan, found this location in the site and have been thru Beckley dozens of times…so we knew it is a crossroads for travelers. Having said that, this location was convenient as a last minute stay with Fido but was a bit worn and very busy. Arriving after 8:30PM, parking was very full, especially with road crew trucks and support vehicles as well as a motorcycle group whose members parked in seemingly every open location (grass, flower beds, walkways). Not a lot of space for Fido’s potty/relief but the small strips of grass near the building had to suffice for our 18lb. friend.
  Friendly staff, clean breakfast area but lodging for pet owners a bit worn; stains on linens and furniture. No weird smells and surprisingly quiet despite the number of guests and being so close to the highway. Adequate for one spontaneous night with Fido on our way home.

  It's hard to find a hotel that allows big dogs and 2 of them! This one is a gem. Unlike other motels that I have stayed in with my dogs, this room smelled fresh and clean.

  Mixed (doggie) bag of an experience

  First of all, the people at the front desk were amazing. Went above and beyond when things went wrong. When we showed up it was after midnight. We (and our dog) were exhausted after a long day and drive. They gave us keys to room but when we went to room and used key, door opened and someone else was in their sleeping!!!! We quickly shut door and went to front desk, but it scared us and probably the occupant and SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN!! Huge safety/privacy issue!

  We had wanted first floor for our dog and no other first floor rooms available, but front desk found third floor room and checked personally that it was empty and she brought up bedding for pull out couch etc. She felt terrible about it. Shook us up a bit and we had an early morning so affected our sleep time. Also calling the hotel is very difficult. Each time we called (before check in to confirm late arrival and after check out because we left sons air pods in room) the wait before someone got on the line to answer call was between 10-15 minutes! They need a better system for outside callers especially if there was an emergency.

  But again, front desk personnel was great when they did answer and searched room for air pods and held them in safe until we could collect them a few days later. My dog was definitely welcome. So that was a plus. But he has never been on elevator before so having to take elevator up and down for bathroom breaks at night was a challenge. Overall would stay again but they seem understaffed.

  Nice room

  Nice spacious room, only bad part was that it was a corner room and door was hard to get large dogs in and out. Had a sick dog/accident in the room. No problem with front desk and no extra charge. We HAD cleaned and Nature's Miracle'd the spots. Decent sized dog walk area with pickup station and very well lit.

  Pleasant Dog Friendly Stay

  Quiet and very nice hotel. We were put in a large suite at no extra cost. Joined their rewards program and the pet fee was waived.

  Definitely returning!

  We stayed there with our 2 dogs as we traveled south. It’s newly remodeled and we had a suite close to the pet area. There were dog treats at the desk for check in. People at the front desk were wonderful. We had a full hot breakfast…. definitely welcome after all the take and go bags. We travel south several times a year. This is definitely our place to stay when we’re traveling through Beckley area.

  A bit tired

  Again, relied on my fellow fido reviewers and again disappointed. When you don’t sleep well (thin walls, can hear others TVs), and just overall feeling of this hotel really needs to be completely updated, would not stay again. The room was “clean,” but I still felt better putting my doggy travel blankets over all the sitting furniture. The staff (front desk) is very friendly, and they are trying to update with new paint in halls & newer hall carpet, but the improvements need to continue to the insides of the rooms, thankful I washed my hair at the prior nights hotel, as just a dribble. Full breakfast was nice, but the best thing besides the front desk had to be our super economical and DELICIOUS take out from Pasquales, Italian just minutes away. Grassy areas all around hotel, just not sure you want to walk all around the hotel.

  Excellent Service

  I arrived at 4:15 and the man at the desk was able to assign me a first floor room near the lobby... which was perfect for unloading dog crates & walking my dogs. There was a good walking area and poop bags were provided. In addition to being dog-friendly, they had a lovely breakfast bar which included scrambled eggs & waffles served by real people, not make-your-own things. There were also biscuits & gravy available. The room was large & clean... a good stopover for my 2 dogs and me.

  Lobby was Under Construction/Renovation

  The front lobby of the hotel was under construction with drills and power equipment mixing cement and a lot of dust in the air. The lobby lounge will be nice when the work is complete I just wish that we could have been notified in advance so that when we came in the front door there was a fairly noisy unpleasant surprise greeting us from the get go. After all, the hallmark of a good visit is “no surprises”.

  Make No Bones About It...

  Make no bones about it...this was a great stay! Convenient location for those doggie walks complete with doggie doo disposal bags and waste receptacle! Thank you for accepting dogs at your facility!

  I have a 4 month old Great Dane puppy who is deaf. It is the first time he stayed in a hotel and the first long drive. He was restless and full of beans to have his dinner. The front was great. They gave him a treat. Told me of some spaces to pee and poop. The fridge was good because we have raw food. The room is fine. Slightly outdated but clean and they put the dogs on the ground floor. Makes it easy for a puppy who needs to go more often. Very grateful for the hospitality
