Easily accessible by road & about 20 minutes from the M6, Underbarrow is wonderfully well hidden from the world. Visitors to the village relish the sense that they have truly escaped the rest of the world as they spend time in their secret corner of Cumbria. The village boasts a fine pub, the Black Labrador as the name states, is very dog friendly & the owners' Labradors can usually be met later in the evening after food service has finished. The Black Labrador was previously called the Punch Bowl & has stood in the village for 350+ years. The pub shows its age with the presence of a priest hole behind the bar.
