This photo was taken at Lake Express High-Speed Ferry in Muskegon, MI. We traveled across Lake Michigan for the first time with our 10 pound adult dog on the Lake Express. Dogs have to travel in a kennel the ferry provides and I was apprehensive about that. Kennels are in auto area and deckhands monitor them. Our dog has travel anxiety however he was wearing his thundershirt and had his prescription anxiety meds administered by me before the ride. The staff at the terminal and on board the ferry were friendly and helpful. Plenty of areas to walk/toilet the dog before boarding. Garbage cans and pet waste bags provided. We could board the ferry first (with families with kids) and I was very pleased with kennel. It was clean, spacious, cushioned, in front of fan/fresh air and a dish of water provided. Our dog did great and was much at ease when we collected him after the crossing.
