Get Up And Go Kayaking

This photo was taken at Get Up And Go Kayaking Silver Springs in Silver Springs, FL. This was a GREAT tour. The website states that dogs are welcome, but there is a 425 pound weight limit per kayak, so keep that in mind if you plan to tandem kayak with a dog and another person. My dog is 30 pounds, we still called ahead to double check. As far as I know, there was no weight limit for pets but I think it would be wise to call ahead. We were here in November and saw a BUNCH of manatees! We witnessed what our guide called a “mating pod” where they were pretty active and splashing around and surfacing a lot which made my dog pretty anxious, but she is 30 pounds so was manageable and didn’t rock the kayak too much. We also saw alligators and playful river otters. It was a fantastic tour, beautiful blue water and lots of wildlife and our tour guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife and very sweet with my dog. Highly recommend, just keep in mind that you will likely see lots of wildlife that may trigger prey drive or anxiety while you’re in a kayak! 😁
