    Just what our dog needs!

I have such a different impression of Pet Recess, I can’t even recognize it from the previous reviews. My sister and I have a lab/beagle that has been going 2-3 times per week for the last year and a half. She LOVES it. She gets increasingly excited, the closer my sister gets each morning, scrambling to the front seat and over her lap to get inside. We sometimes arrive at an unexpected time to pick her up, and we have never encountered a scene that indicates our girl has been mistreated or that any of the dogs are unhappy. In fact, one day my sister arrived and only our dog and another weren’t playing outside. This was because Julia had noticed she seemed to be affected by the heat and brought her inside where she was cooled by the AC. We’ve also boarded her overnight with Julia, who was extremely understanding and accommodating when we were stranded out of state due to Hurricane Sandy. I feel like you’d be doing yourself and your dog a disservice to overlook this establishment without your own personal tour of the facility, allowing Julia the opportunity to address your concerns. For our part, we’ll continue to send our dog, in full confidence that she is in the best of care.

    Stay away!!

Three words: Unauthorized Bark Collars. Ask about it and watch the owner try to deny it. My dog was sent home with a bark collar on, without my prior knowledge of use or approval. They had no satisfactory explanation when I asked about it, very upsetting. I'll never send my dog there again and highly recommend that no one else does either. What kind of a DOG DAYCARE is so intolerant of BARKING that they will use an unauthorized SHOCK collar on a dog for barking?!?! What else is going on there?

    Stay Away from Pet Recess!

This place is awful, dangerous, unsanitary. I can't say enough bad things. If you love your dog at all, please do not leave it in Julia Dixon's care. She claims her employees are CPR/first aid certified, that's a total lie. They never wash the water bowls, disinfect the bedding. The "toys" are unsafe; a broken rusty trampoline. The pics on her site look NOTHING like the actual facility. On top of that, she obviously is only in it for the money. If you stand outside you can hear her screaming at the dogs "HEY!" that's all she does...."HEY!" There is NO separation of large and small dogs, no separation of energy level or temperament. Finally, she sent my dog home with a bark collar on him. I NEVER even discussed this with her or approved it. I will NEVER send my dog, or let any of my friends, send their dogs to this disgusting place. Be forewarned!
